Dairy Queen

I live in the area and purchased an ice cream cake for my daughter’s 13^th birthday a little over one week ago. The cake itself was decorated beautifully, and tasted good. (We’ve purchased quite a few ice cream cakes over the years for all of my kids’ birthdays (I have 3 children).
The reason I am rating this one star is the customer service. I called this business a few days before the party, and was asked to call back, as they were busy setting up for the day, so could not take my order at that time. I had time available the next day to call to order the cake, which I did. I indicated that I had a coupon, found in the local flyer, which I would be giving to them. On the day of the party, at the last minute, I needed someone else to pick up the cake for me, as there were some unexpected things which came up for me. They would not give me the discount unless the paper coupon was presented. When I spoke with ‘Allison’, she indicated she was well aware that there was the $ 3.00 coupon off blizzard cakes in the local flyers, however did not know how she could process this without the actual coupon in hand. Really, DQ, in this day and age, with internet coupons, and technology, knowing what coupons you have out there, you could not process a $ 3.00 coupon, for a cake priced over $ 30.00??? She did tell me she would give me the money off the cake, if I came to the store in the near future with my receipt and coupon, however, this was not going to work out for me in the near future, due to our plans. We have gone here multiple times, and purchased many cakes from therm — NEVER again! I have ordered from the North Haven store in the past, and will never give them any of my business again! Just the principle of this transaction ruined it for me. Would much rather go to Lenny and Joe’s in Madison, who has better soft serve ice cream!

Came here for 1 quick meal ordered a chicken strip basket. Biggest rip off my food did not look like the photo at all… Fries were half the amount and they gave me one BBQ sauce for 4 strips of chicken. When I asked for a additional I was told its .30 wtf How can you dip 4 pieces of BBQ sauce in 1 sauce cup? Not enough. Also I asked why it took 12 mins for 1 meal and the answer from the guy here was we are not mcdonalds everything here is fresh. I bet yeah you bread your own chicken in house whatever. I understand good food Dairy Queen is in line with mcdonalds what does he think it is a Morton’s steak house? I would not normally waste this much time on a fast food place but this place really got under my skin. Good luck.

The girl who took my order was very helpful. Plus she dealt with me very well because I was so indecisive. I got a blizzard filled chocolate waffle cone and it was by far amazing. Lol. This DQ was by far the best ever. I’ve ate at Groton, saybrook, east Lyme, and now this one. And it’s by far #1 in my book. Great people great service what more could you ask from a DQ

Clean that fryer!
Nice enough place. Clean, nice enough people, but service is a wee bit slow and more importantly, change the oil in that fryer!

This DQ is fairly good. The staff is generally friendly and the ice cream is good. The place does get a little messy at times and the line doesn’t move so fast. Overall, okay but not as good as the Old Saybrook DQ.

Haven’t been to this place in a while since we moved out of Clinton. Went back today and damn it is still good. The blizzards are fantastic and they have a new one called midnight truffle. I love the chocolate extreme but this one might be my new favorite, An excuse to gain even move weight at this place.
I don’t care what anyone says, this is still my favorite ice cream place and it just keeps getting better. If you are going to consume tons of useless calories and add some size to your butt it might as well be here, At least there is a nice place to walk after pigging out so you can burn off some of the thousands of calories you just consumed.
