The food was good and I would give the place a 5 star if the service was better, I’m a waitress so I get it but it was just a joke, Monday at 530 and it was just not even Busy and the lack of at least decent service was not even there. I would go back but not this location or with a different server

Sometimes it’s very good, and sometimes it’s average, depends I guess on who is servicing you and who’s back in the kitchen. I’m not a fan of the latest menu, seems that everything is very fried. The kids will like the kids menu, especially the dessert options(like the painted crab and make your own ice cream sandwich)

I went with my mom to celebrate her birthday. We split the calamari(which was fantastic), I got a cup of lobster bisque(which if it wasn’t good there was an issue) and we both got Queen Crab Buckets. I got mine Simply Steamed and she got hers Garlic Herb(it was not heavily garlicky). For dessert we both got the Campfire S’mores. The food was fantastic. The only reason why I am not giving a 5-star review is the fact that we were celebrating my mom’s birthday(and gave her the birthday coupon that said ‘claws its your birthday’) and nothing was done. When we celebrated my birthday(something big was done without either of us saying anything). I don’t understand why restaurants when you give a birthday coupon why they don’t do anything.

I don’t like seafood. I never cracked open a crab leg in my life because whatever was inside was never worth it — until I visited Joe’s Crab Shack. If you’ve never eaten at Joe’s then you should definitely try it. I went the first time because hubby wanted crab. When he gave me a piece of his king crab leg, I suddenly fell in love. Succulent, meaty… perfectly cooked pieces of crab leg… A whole bucket of it! Yum. My favorite is the bucket of crab with garlic herb flavor to keep things simple. Snow crab and King crab are my faves but really, all the crab buckets are delish. I’ve tried most of the steam pots and they’re pretty good too. I will say this: I think they do an excellent job with the crab legs and an average job at best with everything else on the menu. This includes appetizers, lobster, shrimp, clams, mussels, fish, meat, etc. Stick with the basic crab pots/buckets. I’ve never been disappointed with them. At Joe’s, they try and show you a good fun time. It’s noisy because the wait staff dances to loud music every so often for your entertainment. They keep it real casual here: You get a bib with some seafood pun scrawled on it, a bucket for trash and a roll of paper towels. Theres a hand washing station in the dining area because that’s the kind of spot it is. But it’s darn tasty so do wash your hands and dig in with your paws. The Westbury location is usually packed on weekend nights. They do take reservations which will shorten your wait. I’ve always had nice servers. The food is always good. But sometimes things take a long time or need to be checked on so don’t let things slide.

Our last experience here was very late on a Saturday night. We got excellent service and nice, strong drinks. The food was good — I had the King Crab which was great but for the price, I feel they could’ve done better w/the portion size.

I’ve been to Joes in island Park and another in San Diego and at both places the food and service was great if you get past the crowds. This particular Joe’s should Be ashamed to be part of the franchise, on 2 separate occasions the food was over cooked and the service was extremely slow despite there being a handful of people there. I tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt that’s why I went the second time. If you like Joes, make the trip and go to Island Park. This place is 10 minutes away and I’ll never go there again.

First of all, walk in to a line of people waiting to check in with the host/hostess. Said hosts(3 of them) were just standing there starring at this long line, holding an iPad and doing nothing. I left my brother in line and walked around to make sure it was indeed the line to check in. Host said«yes, you have to tell us your name and we will add you to the list… and still did not start taking down names.» I KNOW how it works, don’t think he really grasped the concept though. Finally asked if I could sit at the bar without getting on the list. I got an empty stare and after a few seconds of awkward silence was told yes. Ordered a steam pot and my brother got an app platter. When the food did arrive my seafood was overcooked and dry as a bone. my brother was shocked that anyone could mess up a deep fried app platter. Only reason I am giving this place 2 stars instead of 1 is because the bartenders and waitstaff were very friendly and at least tried to do their jobs. Will not be back.

I am going to drop it a star because this last time was the most disappointing time thus far. We came here on a Saturday night after seeing a movie and excited to have a good time here as we have the past couple of times. The wait was only about 10⁄15 minutes which we thought was great for how long it normally is. Once we got seated, it took the wait staff 10⁄15 minutes to get menus to us, another 10⁄15 minutes to put in drink orders, another 10⁄15 minutes to finally get those drinks and place our orders… you can get where I am going with this… I know I am a typical ‘New Yorker’ but the waiting around got a bit irritating after trying to flag down multiple servers. After we finally got our orders in, the fish n chips that I have ordered 3 times in the past and loved, were skimpy and terrible and basically a plate of fries with random piece of fried fish, the fried calamari were bland with no flavors, the Cajun steam pot was lacking seasoning but the one bright spot here was the fish tacos that were actually flavorful and very good. Overall, this time around, we really weren’t happy with anything like our previous experiences. The prices are fair for what you order but it is more about the fun environment here which they seemed to have an off night when we came.

Despite the long wait for the food(which is why I gave it 4 stars and not 5), this place is pretty cool; I’m a big fan of the beach theme. I came here on their $ 2 Tuesdays and I sure did take advantage of the deal. I ordered about 6 Hurricanes(yikes, they were pretty strong), $ 2 sliders and calamari. Their food is delicious, especially if you love seafood. I was super impressed by the calamari, it was great. Our server, Jordan also made our visit a pleasant experience. He was very attentive and friendly(always a plus). I definitely plan on coming back here, just maybe not on a Tuesday so I won’t get carried away with the hurricanes, haha

This is the first time we ever been to Joe’s Crab Shack. The food & the service was great! We were here on a Monday evening for dinner. The place wasn’t busy at all. The portion of the food were decent & the food was fresh. Wednesday is all you can eat snow crab for $ 29. Sounds like a pretty good deal. We’ll definitely go back for that deal.

I love Joe’s, but this one is an embarrassment to the chain and I guess the empty dining room should’ve been an indicator of that. On this particular visit, we only went for drinks and sat at the bar. The bartender informed us they discontinued the $ 2 happy hour special and proceeded to hand us a menu with limited options. Fast-forward a bit, and a different bartender informs us of an even better deal that we opted for. That could’ve saved us time & a mediocre drink. Service has never really been outstanding and the food is what you would expect. There’s plenty of parking so I guess that’s a plus.

Wow I am beyond disappointed with my experience here. I normally don’t rate badly at all but this was just horrible. We ordered the 45 dollars meal for TWO, and when the food came it looked as if it was already eaten and there was so little in there. We were missing our queen crab and sausage. Some of the crabs were garlic flavored and some were regularly flavored meanwhile the order was not supposed to have anything garlic flavored at all. It seemed as if they gave us other people’s left overs. And we were not the only ones; the people right of us were also complaining about missing foods in their platters. The waitress was very nice and brought us another snow crab and just one half of a queen crab for us to share. The atmosphere was great and lively but the kitchen just really messed it up. I’m never going back there.

First time coming here, and I have to admit it was delightful. Food came out quick, great waitress that was very responsive in whatever my table wanted. The one issue I had, was that it was a bit too salty which made the rest of my day a bit lax. Obviously, that critique is based off of who you are as a person and your adaptability to different quantity of certain ingredients. Overall though, I would definitely come here again. I am definitely taking advantage of that promo on Tuesday’s where there is a $ 2 deal for a few items/drinks on the menu. Feels like a bargain, and won’t break your wallet. I would love to try that out the next time. Huge recommendation, try the big redfish, lobster sauce and rice. It was actually a great choice that blended well with the classic sampler for the appetizers!

Received a leaflet for Wednesday All You Can Eat Snow Crab. It was Tuesday. Not a whole lot of tables sat. Came in with no expectations except for getting a somewhat decent meal. No way. Ordered two hurricanes(acceptable) and two«crab taters», which were nothing more than overly sauced French fries. Ordered the New England clam chowder, but was advised that it was still frozen, so it needs time to thaw. Fish was aggressively salty and mediocre(mahi). I will not be returning. Ever.

Yet another chain restaurant in this mall area. Located right next to Coymel’s and sharing the same parking lot, this Joe’s Crab Shack will let you have some American style seafood that’s supposedly fresh and exciting. We were seated quickly on a dead Monday evening, so no complaints with the service or the staff. We ordered way too much food for 2 people, as we are prone to do. We had the sampler appetizer platter and the bean town bake pot. The apps were way bigger than we expected and so, so filling before the pot even came out. Greasy and fried apps are never a good idea. The crab dip was supremely creamy to the point of nausea. Not that it was bad, it just wasn’t to our liking. The main entrée came out with two lobsters, sausage, clams, corn, and shrimp all baked in a seafood pot. The entrée looked amazing with glittering seasoning and beautifully cooked lobster. Then we dove into the food and was disappointed. Though there was a lot of seasoning, it was unfortunately all on the outside of the lobsters. There was no seasoning in the lobster, or the clams, or the shrimp. Everything was bland and definitely didn’t taste all that fresh. We were sad that the taste just didn’t match up to the looks. Better luck next time!

Ugh… Where do I start!!! I never liked Joe’s Crab Shack. Never understood the hype around it. However, for the month of September: Kids Eat Free(with the purchase of an adult entrée). So I said what the heck — let me give them a chance to redeem themselves. Walked into a dance session of all the servers doing the Cupid Shuffle. I thought that was cute because one thing they do here is turn up. I appreciate the energy they have and their desire for everyone to have a good time. With all that being said, I would not come here again or urge anyone to. My server, Jah was very nice but that doesn’t make the experience I had any better. The drinks tasted like syrupy juice even though I was advised that they were so strong you can’t order more than two for the night –_– My food … Omg … The longest piece of hair hiding in my onion strings! So disgusting. Of course they took it off the bill but I’m still nauseous. Like I don’t even want to know how unsanitary their kitchen must be for that. On top of that, prior to finding the hair the food was so bland and tasteless. Just nasty. A waste of calories. Don’t waste your time. I’d choose Red Lobster over Joe’s any day and even that place only brings me back solely for their biscuits lol

Came here on a late Monday evening, late-ish. Place was pretty empty. Server was cordial but service was slow right away. Took forever just to get our drinks(which were just fountain sodas, nothing fancy). For the appetizer, we got their special crab cake with a sriracha dipping sauce. It was basically all breading and very oily. We ordered our steampots. Those also took a little while, but if the food is good, it would’ve been fine. My friend’s steampot included scallops, and from the picture it was on a stick, but wow, these were the smallest scallops I’ve ever seen. They weren’t even baby scallops, more like fetal scallops. Tiny and pretty much inedible. So here’s the main reason for the 1-star review: my pot comes out, and it’s missing corn. I ask the waiter and he brings one over(again, very slowly). Once he brings it, I pick it up… and it’s clearly been bitten into already. There are like 5 – 6 kernels missing. The waiter comes by(again, after more than a few minutes), I point to the corm, and he says«oh, sure. I’l bring you a new one» a little TOO casually. As if this is a regular occurrence. Not apologetic at all. Very disturbing. Never coming back here again.

Do you want privacy? If yes, then you should come here. The service was slow although there weren’t many patrons dining in. You’ll feel like you rented the place out. I came here for their Great Balls of Fire, $ 2 Fried Shrimp, & their $ 2 Hurricane. The food & drinks backfired on me later that night. I’m not sure if the food wasn’t fresh or I was served a bad batch, but it has turned me off from dining at Joe’s. This location is spacious. The staff is nice & accommodating. There’s ample amount of parking.

Not too impressed with this spot. I had heard a lot about it so wanted to give it a try! Cute spot, very nautical, lots of wood, large dinning area… booths and tables. Staff very friendly. I got southern stuffed shrimp, bacon wrapped shrimps stuffed with seafood. My bacon was burnt(see pic), dish looked sad, like it was just defrosted. Hush puppies had peppers in them… YIKES!!! I loooove hush puppies and I have never tried them with peppers… not for this gurl! apps were calamari… very basic and fried pickles… very bland, not crispy at all. Our appetizer came with the food and the waitress said«is that a problem?» ummmmm… maybe she should look up the meaning of appetizer??? We told her we were expecting it before are food(we’re just crazy like that… lol) She apologized, before we knew it manager was at our table and informed us he would comp the apps… very good… all is right! Not sure what all the hype is about… place has a very«frozen food» vibe. This place is known for buckets of crabs, maybe I ordered the wrong thing, mite go back to have a bucket. After all place was nice and clean and service was good!
