My first time eating here. Probably the nastiest Chinese food I have ever eaten. I ordered the General Tsao Chicken and I’m almost certain that what I ate wasn’t even chicken. The food was extremely greasy and fatty. I’m not certain if it was fully cooked. I couldn’t even eat it. I took 2 bites and threw it out. It smelled horrible and oily. The sauce wasn’t your traditional general Tsao sauce. I never write reviews but this food was so terrible It warranted a response. The delivery was very timely I will say that. Even the rice was greasy and the pork in the pork fried rice wasn’t full cooked. Disgusting. Won’t ever eat here again

Our go to for takeout. Excellent hot and sour soup, flavorful wonton broth. Nothing amazing, but consistently good Americanized Chinese dishes(does that make sense?) if I go in and the staff is sharing a more authentic meal, I always say, oh next time I want that. Someday they will realize I am serious. One pet peeve– we have been patrons for 20+ years and always order leaving my first name. One day I would like to walk in and say I am here for takeout and not hear. «What’s your name?»!!!

The food is good, I still prefer China House a few blocks away. I’m going to spend most of this review comparing it to China House since that’s my prefered Chinese food in the area and I will tell you why. Pearls has slightly smaller portions and a more flimsy styrofoam container whereas China House uses a seal tight plastic one hence less spills and mess. The rice isn’t quite as flavorful. The brown sauce they used for my Shrimp and brocoli was very oily. The shrimp were clean and fresh and slightly larger than the ones at China House but China House also charges less for the exact meal and gives a few extra shrimp. For my lunch special I was only offered soup. No soda or egg roll with the meal. Lunch specials run from 11 – 3 and at China House it’s 11 – 4 The meal was mostly rice, not much shrimp or brocoli but it did taste good and was filling. King Shing has the best boneless spare ribs in the area, I may try Pearl’s just to see how they are for comparison on a future visit. They have three types of soup; egg drop, wonton, and hot and sour. The soup is not the typical pint size given at most places. It’s more like a half pint. You could probably finish it in 10 spoonfuls or two gulps lol. I opted for the wonton. There were two large wontons inside with some green onion and meat. The broth was very flavorful. Not sure why it’s called Pearl Inn, it’s not a hotel. Aside from that there are only three small tables so it’s mostly take out. All comparissons aside the food is okay but oily the portions are meh. The service was prompt and acceptable but the price was a little higher than usually especially for a lunch special with little side options. Am I dying to come back? Nope, not really!

There is a positive side and a negative side. Positive: Very delicious chinese fast food. General Tso is sooo good. They have brown rice. They take online orders and cards. They have the usual suite of a few hundred different types of Chinese dishes and so far everything I tasted was good. To me, the General Tso is memorable. Panda Express made me hate take out style when I was out of NY, this place makes me love take out. Negative: Place looks pretty gross though, typical I guess for Chinese take out. It’s not any more gross than any other average take out food joint. I am happy that I have never found a roach or something horrid in the food. Had this place been in NYC, might be concerned for infestation. Good thing the neighborhood is in a pretty area of suburbia so I guess the cleanliness is there. The ladies who run the registers are staples here, maybe they own the joint. They aren’t very friendly and maybe this is what should be expected when one orders take-out. Maybe I shouldn’t judge so much based on appearances. For what it’s worth, I can safely say the taste of the food isn’t affected by the lack of curbside appeal.

Ni Hao! I don’t understand Chinese but it looks like a family run restaurant. The place is quite small as it is a take out place, just three tables and some chairs. The kitchen is large and open so you have a view of what’s cooking. There are 4 to 5 people constantly talking in Mandarin, taking orders on the phone and occasionally shouting. The food is pretty delicious and flavorful. The portions are huge and the service very friendly. Unpretentious food at reasonable prices, always *****. What I like here: — very tasty food — cheap prices — friendly and fast service — delivery available

Okay food. Service could be better. Went in to order and waited for food. Someone came in and ordered after me, 2 of the dishes that I had ordered and he ordered were the same. They gave him my dishes, realized that what they did was wrong but then still gave it to him anyway. I had to wait another 10 minutes after that for my order. No apology. Things like that are annoying.

This small take-out restaurant is more authentic and satisfying than many other Chinese take-out restaurants around. They were exceptionally friendly and felt like I was walking into my own house. It was the usual take-out settings with limited seating. There are a few seats, probably around four tables, but the food came out quick and clean(something that most take-outs lack). *Did I mention they also have a brown rice option I happen to drive by(on my way to my friends place) and was in the mood for some Chinese food. I drove up and parked right in front. It gets pretty busy so make sure you put in your order beforehand, if not, it’s okay because they will still have your order within a few minutes. I ordered the Pork Fried Dumplings, Chicken Broccoli, General Tso’s Chicken, and Home-made Cheese Wonton. Pork Fried Dumplings: The Pork Fried Dumplings were not bad; better than a lot of other Chinese restaurants/take-outs. The dumplings weren’t too oily or greasy either, but lightly fried with lots of flavor. Chicken and Broccoli: The Chicken and Broccoli is probably one of my favorite dishes of all time. Unlike many other restaurants, Pearl Inn has an ability to make the sauce taste light and delicious rather than the typical heavy and bland. The chicken was also very tender and juicy. The broccoli was fresh and lightly steamed(I asked for it steamed). General Tso’s Chicken: The General Tso’s Chicken was amazing too. A little spicy, but just the way I like it. The chicken was lightly fried and crispy with sauce piled on top. I love the sauce and rice combo. The broccoli again was very fresh and mixed in with the sauce just made it bomb-tastic. Home-made Cheese Wonton: There is nothing that compare to their Home-made Cheese Wontons. I know its home-made, just because the taste is so different, fresh, creamy, and amazing. The soft and creamy cheese, with a crispy outer shell makes it full of texture and flavor in one bite. Just writing about it makes me want to grab some right now(dialing)… haha They were very friendly and made all the changes I wanted to my order, from brown rice to having dishes steamed rather than stir-fried. The dishes were all reasonably priced for the quality of food($ 10). The food maybe a few cents more, but it’s well worth every cent. And from talking to them, they’ve actually been in the neighborhood for a very long time.

Our local, go to take out place for the last 18 years. Whenever we try a different place, we always return. Decent, standard Chinese take out that is consistant and typically priced. May not«wow» you, but will not dissapoint either. Easy parking in an otherwise bland strip mall on Carmen Ave. Copys of LIPress and hot tea while you wait. You can choose brown or white rice and the house mustard in the litte cups is right on.
