Truly the best-tasting Chicago deep dish I have tried. Loved the cheese and crust. I am a thin-crust type of guy, but I would not mind eating a whole deep dish pie.

By far the best pizza I’ve had in Chicago! Ordered a small deep dish with pepperoni and sausage. OHMY! I’m in love! This will be my go to pizza place every time I stop by or near Chicago! Although next time I will try it in the store. Delivery took about an hour and it’s only 2 miles away.

Lou Malnati’s is the best pizza on the planet! This was the first time I got my pizza at the Western Springs location and will definitely not be the last time. The thin crust cheese and sausage pizza was incredibly tasty. I’d been to the restaurant in Chicago’s River North on Wells Street many times as well as the restaurant in downtown Naperville. Though the dine-in restaurants tend to be a little more generous with the amount of sausage on the pizzas, this carry-out location makes great pizzas, too. On a busy evening — from the looks of the traffic going in and out of the place — the pizza was ready in just 40 minutes. The deep dish pizza — which I’ve had in Chicago and Naperville — is tremendous, too!(Seriously, it’s hard to believe any other pizza places of comparable price — like Giordano’s — can stay in business with Lou Malnati’s around.)

4 stars for the pizza, which is usually great and sometimes not as great if they are very busy 0 stars for the snooty/lackadaisical attitude of the girl who works there, which we have had to deal with multiple times = average of 2 stars

My go-to pizza place for delivery and pickup for many years now. The pizza has not changed and is consistently good every time. We love both the thin crust and deep dish with butter crust. Really can’t go wrong!

Worth the wait and price. Their pizza will never fail to satisfy your tastebuds! Great menu choices and their deep dish crust is the best!

The staff here is friendly and takes time with the customers, so that’s all okay… The only problems I have is that there are no table and chairs in the restaurant which makes this takeout only. I’m sure that’s not really a big deal but it might be nice to have 2 or 3 tables and chairs for customers. I have seen people sitting outside of other businesses in garden market eating their pizza! I also am not a huge fan of the pizza but my family loves it! I actually prefer their meat sauce ravioli but that is just me. Overall it’s a good place that’s close to home and I don’t mind ordering from there every now and then!

Updated because the district manager contacted me after the review and apologized. I appreciate the fact that someone here takes customer service seriously, I just hope that they can learn from the mistakes of the Valentine’s Day debacle that I originally posted about.

Just stupid people running this place. No concept of time. Awful customer service. I love Lou’s but won’t be going back to this one.

Woke up from being sick all day and said to my husband that I have been craving a deep dish pizza all week, so Lou Malnati was the first place I thought of, Holly molly what happened, where was the famous thin pattie of sausage, and why were there chunks of tomato sauce all over the top, very disappointing, nothing like I remember your Pizza was, I ordered ½ sausage and ½ s, m, o, p, I don;t thing they put sausage on the ½ with mush, onion, pepper, and the ½ with sausage only was so over powered with sauce and garlic, ICKNOTGOOD…

Lou Malnati’s has always been my favorite pizza and I’ve lived in the Chicagoland area my entire life. That said, I’ve recently adopted a gluten-free diet(not entirely by choice) and was completely bummed thinking that I’d have to give up pizza. However, I learned that’s not the case! I tried Lou’s crust-less pizza and gluten-free pizza and both were amazing. It had been awhile since I had Lou Malnati’s so I could hardly tell that the gluten-free pizza crust wasn’t the«real» deal. My husband did a taste test between the gluten-free pizza and the regular, and he said it was definitely very close and both were great. The crust-less pizza was a bit on the salty side, but that’s not always the case. Overall, I’m so happy I can continue to eat Lou Malnati’s and even happier that their gluten-free options don’t taste like sand!

I haven’t Unilocaled Lou? What’s wrong with me? Excellent pizza! SO good. Ask for the BUTTER crust. Do I need to explain that? BUTTER=YUM.(The«Lou» is a particular favorite.) Also, Lou provides excellent customer service, at all levels. Employees at their locations are friendly and professional, and if you ever have a question or concern, you will receive an equally friendly and professional reply from the corporate level. Everything about Lou Malnati’s is excellent. No, I don’t work for them. I just love the pizza and the character and consideration of management.

I will always prefer Chicago style pizza over any other genre of pizza. However, I do not think Lou Malnati’s has anything on Giordano’s, who I consider the kings of Chicago style pizza. In my opinion, Lou’s pizza has too little sauce, way too much cheese, and sub par crust. The butter crust is really nothing to write home about, considering its one of their trademarks. The butter crust has this sort of crunchy, odd texture. I think their sauce is pretty good, but it is always overpowered by cheese! Giordano’s, on the other hand, has a rich, garlic-y red sauce, with an equal proportion of cheese, and crispy, flaky, layered crust. I am salivating… All in all, I would take Lou’s over Pizza Hut, Papa John’s, even Gino’s, but they don’t stand a chance against Giordano’s.

We’ve probably ordered twice from this place in 15 years, and we live a couple blocks away. The thin crust is ok and the deep dish is bland. Just a real mediocre pizza place.

«The Deep Dish Lou» is my favorite pizza, period. It’s just flat out delicious. My mouth is watering thinking about it right now. We always order the pizza uncut and without tinfoil under it. This is critical as if you leave the foil or especially if you cut it, all the goodness in the pizza will make the crust soggy. Not that is matters, but I’m also 50% Italian and respectfully disagree with Linda M’s review.

First I need to say I have always been a fan of Lou Malnatis pizza, when we lived downtown we were regulars at Lou’s. When this take-out store opened in Western Springs we were excited. We have probably ordered pizza from this location about six times. They totally screwed up our order two times, one time we ordered pepperoni and they gave us sausage. Another time we ordered a deep dish as we always do and they delivered a thin crust pie. The other four to five times they got the order correct and the pizza is great when they get it right.

This pizza is good only if you like SUPERBLAND pizza. It taste like cardboard. I don’t see what all the hype is. I’m 50% Italian, so I know my pizza and sauces.
