Best sub around for the money. Wish I didn’t have to drive so far to get one when I have a hankering.

I moved in right around the corner from here and I’m obsessed with their subs. It’s like subway on steroids. My favorite is the Aruba and get a garlic pickle at the end too! I do wish some of their employees would be more interactive and cheerful. The people near the refrigerators are super nice and smile-y, but the people in near the front have been crabby 9 out of 10 times. It’s not my fault that crazy high school kids fill the restaurant, you should be happy you’re making money off of them.

every town needs a go-to deli. this is your place in westfield. i’ve tried the chicken salad, which was very good. good bites of celery in between each chicken bite and the consistency wasn’t too wet. i’ve also tried the sicilian(#143): prosciutini, salami, capicola, pepperoni, boiled ham, bologna, provolone, and swiss cheese. basically your meat lover’s paradise which does not disappoint, and fills you up for, eh, about a week. TLDR — you want meat? they got meat.

Best subs in town. Great team here rocking the cold cuts. Wish I knew what’s in their world class special house made seasoning. Only beef(pun intended!) is they could have more options for vegetarians so I could pick up lunch for my son as well.

Consistently solid sub shop for most of my life in the area. Nothing fancy, no big name meats but tasty and priced right.

I grew up in Westfield, but moved away when I was about 7. But whenever me and my family are in the area we make a point to stop by– my dad knows one of the managers by name. The service is excellent, the food is always delicious and you can pick up a lot of other stuff there– chippies, sodas, candy. It’s the best sandwich shop I’ve ever been to, bar none.

Their chicken fingers and cheese fries are the best! So good that I’ve never ordered anything else(they have a pretty big menu). The staff is always friendly.

Stopped in based on Unilocal reviews and was not disappointed. We loved the food, the staff was great and we would absolutely go back. The Cheddar cheese was amazing! Only minus is they serve fountain Pepsi.

I heard a lot of hype so I was excited to try it. Prices are reasonable but my sandwich was bland. Plus there were flies all over — yuk

Went there today and got a half turkey and cheese sub. The sub was good and the service was good as well. We got the food to go though because it was pretty hot inside. Would be happy to go back!

Great sandwich. Fresh cold cuts perfectly sliced. Turkey and Swiss were excellent. Right amount of mayo, oil and vinegar. Coming from Brooklyn I was not expecting much but was Pleasantly surprised. Will definitely be back!

Amazing everything! Great deli meats, rolls, as well as superb cheesesteak, only beaten by those in South Philly. Well kept secret is their equally as good breakfast sandwiches, which have a secret seasoning combo that will blow your mind!

This was at one time, one of the best submarine sandwich places in northern New Jersey. During the 1960’s and ’70’s we’d travel from Upsala College in East Orange, down the GS Parkway to Westfield for a couple of really good sandwiches. They were even better than Blimpie’s at the time.(Folks, at one time, Blimpie’s was a great sandwich shop) Those days vanished back around 1975. Hershjey’s best day’s seem to have gone also. I wasn’t impressed with the meats though it was edible. The buddy I used to drive down with at 11:30PM has passed on also, so I guess I’ll have to find a new place to wax nostalgic about. ChrisC, try Jersey Mikes outside of New Jersey, you’ll find them much better. Must be the water around here.

It is ok. I never have understood the hype. I went there today with my kids. It was really dirty, food all over the floor and tables. One of my kids needed to use the bathroom, it was disgusting. The health inspector should pay a visit.

My boyfriend ordered me a whole chicken parm sandwich for my flight back to California. When it was ready we grabbed the box and were about to leave the counter when one of the workers stopped us because we forgot the other«half». The sandwich was monstrous, cheesy, saucy, and the chicken was juicy. The sandwich was not crazy $$, service was friendly, and they have a sh*t ton of Tastykakes to choose from. I’ll definitely be back when I visit Jersey again.

This place is ok for their flat grill foods like hot dogs, cheeseburgers and cheesesteaks. Their deli meats are atrocious just like Jersey Mike’s there is nothing redeemable about their cold cut sandwiches. Onion rings were freezer burned and the cold cut sandwiches have an abominable mushiness to them like they had been soaking in oily water. I find it amusing, the Kohler deli meat brand that they use must be made by the same company that manufactures sinks and toilets because that’s what it tasted like. The best sandwich shop in Westfield is across the street and its called Manhattan Bagel — bar none. If you are used to your cold cut sandwiches having Boar’s head products you will be disappointed with this place with certainty. Besides their hot breakfast sandwiches and hot sandwich specials, I would not visit here ever. People have been making this place out to be the last bastion of sandwiches or something. There’s a reason why places die or close down. No inordinate amount of nostalgia can keep a place open forever or maybe not since people in NJ will obviously eat food from a trough and think its excellent. Don’t forget the lettuce and sandwich fixings that were all over the floor and not swept up. The interior is kitschy but so are Gumby dolls, I don’t see anyone stand online to chew on a rubber Gumby doll…

A massive deli sandwich at a reasonable price. I could eat here every week. Meats and cheeses are really fresh and the bread has almost a sweet taste. Love it. I live in Hoboken, so I’m surrounded by great delis. However, if you’re in Westfield, Hershey’s is the best.

Best deli sandwiches in Westfield. Great menu board with numbered sandwich combination selections. They also have a nice assortment of ice cream deserts in the freezer below where you order. Great for takeout. Parking is horrible. Some times I park in the train station parking lot and cross the street. Service is atrocious. The younger folks that work there have a case of the mumbles and are miserable. I have not seen anyone smile there in the 3 years I have been going there. The owners/managers are OK I guess. Just all seemed ticked off whenever you walk in to place an order.

This is a five star deli that I have to bump down because they forgot the oil and vinegar on what would’ve been an otherwise perfect roast beef and swiss sub. Fresh cut meats, shredded Iceberg, all of the stuff I love. Except the oil and vinegar. Still, I’m coming back here every time I’m in Westfield from now until I die.
