Good Food and GREAT service! Marcus was great! And it’s a BYOB! Can’t beat that!

The food was ok, not great. The prices are way out of line for the quality of the food. We had the salsa, guacamole and chip appetizer, which at $ 15 better be great. What we got was ordinary chips, ok salsa and guac. My wife had the chicken tacos which she said were tasty but run of the mill. I had the mixed grill which included ribs with a sort of peanut based sauce(ok, also not great), chorizo(tasty) and a skirt steak(ok, but had no seasoning on it). I expected much better, much tastier food for both the prices and location and was disappointed.

I was meeting a friend for lunch in Westfield and someone suggested Theresa’s on Elm Street. The reviews from fellow Unilocalers were good and the menu had a delicious looking Beef Carpaccio salad(I love beef Carpaccio) so we were set. Or not. Turns out Theresa’s Is not open for lunch on Saturday but the staff recommended their sister restaurant a few doors down called Mojave Grill. Good choice. My friend started out with a beautiful bowl of tomato soup followed by a Blackened Chicken Caesar Salad that she enjoyed very much. I opted for the pork belly tacos that were outstanding. Also delicious were the bowl of rice and beans that came with the tacos. A nice touch was the basket of sweet yummy corn bread and butter that was placed on or table. Service was great, friendly, and comfortable. Thank you Lani for making doing such a fantastic job!

This has always been one of my favorites with delicious unique food every time. Last night must have been a fill in chef. Appetizers were fine although unusually spicy(ceasar salad and tuna tartar). My friend and I ordered the shrimp special entrée which was described as being in a coconut cream sauce. Sounded great but arrived swimming in a pool of thick dark brown sauce tasting like soap. Where was the coconut crème sauce??? Back our entrees went. I won’t go into detail on our new choices only to see they were not good either. Our waitress was going to tell the manager of our problems but the manager never appeared and by that point we wanted to pay the bill and end our evening at Mohave.

The Skirt Steak was really good. They cooked the meat perfect and had a great taste. The calamari is very good to share, good size.

I’ve been to this place twice. I do not recall my first time here that well since it was about two years ago or so. However, I do remember ordering their cajun chicken pasta and liking it for the most part. I decided to go here for dinner with my cousin and one of our friends. It was a Saturday night, so there was obviously a wait. We went in to put down our names and realized that you can call up to 45 minutes in advance for reservations(good to know for the future). Since it’s BYOB and we had about a 30 minute wait, we went across the street to a liquor store and bought ourselves some delicious wine for accompaniment. Our wait ended up being a little longer than they had mentioned. When we were finally seated, our server promptly brought out an ice bucket for our wine and also poured us all a glass. Mostly, the food didn’t really cut it for me here. We ordered Guacamole for starters which was good but nothing special. We each ordered a different entrée and decided to try out one another’s. I ordered the chicken tacos. For me personally, these were quite bland and there was no flavor to them whatsoever. I ordered a side of their chipotle aioli and added it for some sort of taste. My cousin ended up ordering the catfish entrée which was good, but I was too full off of my tacos to actually enjoy it. My friend ordered the chimichanga which I think was the best dish there. It was flavorful and a good portion. Overall, my experience here was pretty mediocre. And I think it’s a bit overpriced for their quality of food. I don’t think if I’ll be making a special trip here anytime soon.

The place is cute, but food is so so. Best thing we got was the ribs. I tried the pork belly tacos, it wasn’t crispy enough, so resulting in very fatty greasy tacos… not great… service was good.

It was our first time coming here and we were very satisfied! The portions were very large and well priced. We got appetizers and lunch and it was well priced for the quality and quantity served. Restaurant was clean and staff friendly and attentive. Will be back for sure. Their salsa and guacamole appetizer is well worth 15 and well seasoned.

Our server Marc was courteous, pleasant, and service was quick. The restaurant has plenty of seating and just enough ambience to make it a solid date night choices. Byob is always nice. The food was good, but not spectacular – the chicken enchiladas and guac were good but the chips were thin and broke while trying to dip and the rice and beans were dry.

Had the pork belly tacos. Very very good. Lots of crisp cabbage, like they do in Cali. Hubby ordered The lobster taco, which, was a definite TEN. Service was good, considering it was a busy Saturday nite. Lived the ginger iced tee mix.

Best tacos in new jersey hands down. I had the lobster tacos and they were excellent. They add roasted corn and cabbage to the tacos along with a sweet tangy sauce. The appetizer ribs are awesome. They have a mole sauce that’s great. They have match stick fries that are stupendous. The service is quick and friendly.

This place is delicious! I went a couple weeks ago and I’m a new Unilocaler so I figured I should let everyone know about it! It’s a BYOB which is great! The atmosphere is chill and romantic but I could also see it being fun for a group date night. The food was excellent! The garlic shrimp was cooked perfectly. I had the chicken tacos and my boyfriend had the chicken burrito. Both were so good I couldn’t stop eating even when I was full. Can’t wait to go back again.

The service is always friendly and professional. The food is hit or miss. Some days it’s wonderful and other days it’s lacking. This review is about the atmosphere. The space is in need of an immediate upgrade. I dined here for lunch with a friend and we both were taken aback by the dirt on the carpet. No one else had been there before us — this was 12noon. There’s no excuse for filth on the floor! The carpet should go, the tables should be replaced and the peeling paint repaired. It all makes me wonder about the cleanliness of the kitchen.

Love it here. I’ve been here a few times and non of the times disappointed. Service is great and food tastes fresh. Their food is on the heavier side so I never finish and always have some to take home :) BYOB!

I came here to grab a bite with my boyfriend after a friends birthday. The service was exceptional, we sat outside because the weather was nice. It’s byob so we brought our own bottle of wine. Our food came out fairly quickly, the presentation of it was nice. I got the catfish but substituted the rice with spinach which was very good. The catfish was crispy on the top and cooked perfectly in the middle. My boyfriend got the pork which was also very tasty. Of course I cleaned my plate unlike my boyfriend– making me look like a fatty but it’s okay because the food was delicious. I will definitely be returning to try someone else on the menu. I did not give it 5 stars because the music that was playing when we were sitting outside was strange. It was like elevator music, they definitely need to switch up the music.

Food was delicious, the service with my waitress was Excellent, however this guy that works here and is a manager on Sundays, as I was told, made me feel unwelcome and uncomfortable.. that would be my only reason for not giving this place 4 stars …

My girlfriend and I were planning to meet for lunch and because she lives up North and I’m more in Central Jersey, we planned to meet at a median point so we decided on Westfield. Neither of us were in the mood for any cuisine in particular, but I searched if there were any deals for any restaurants in the area and stumbled upon a Groupon for Mojave Grill. It was a Saturday during the winter so there was still lots of snow on the ground so it was a little more difficult finding parking. We both ended up parking by the Trader Joe’s, which Mojave Grill isn’t too far from. It was about 12 – 1PM when we arrived and there was only one other party here. We were seated by the front-windows, where there was a draft but bearable. The paint on the walls over by where we were seated was chipping and the tables weren’t in good condition — they had a lot of scratches on them. Also I’m not sure if a party with a toddler or baby just left, but there were what appeared to be tortilla chip crumbs all over the floor by us, needless to say we had many eye sores during our meal. Our waiter was really nice though and along with the busboys, they were also attentive. The food was really good. My girlfriend and I shared the Tuna Ceviche for starters which was really fresh and had lots of bright flavors. We both had the Lime Braised Pork for our entrees, which was equally delicious. The pork and rice came out in what looked to be a little tower, the rice at the bottom, next was the pork, and finally on the top were minced veggies like tomatoes and onions. The pork was so tender and juicy. This dish also came with a side of sweet plantains(maduros), avocado, and some flatbread. DELICIOUS! The dish was so filling that I had left-overs to take home. The place itself could use some touch-up work in maintaining it’s location, however the service and food were fantastic! Also loved the fact that they had a Groupon!

I was a BIG fan of Mojave Grille. I have passed it so many times being that I work in Westfield, but have never been able to make the time to go. I went with coworkers one night in between work and our night program. I believe that Mojave is a sister restaurant to Theresa’s? Well, I was definitely satisfied. The inside is festive with contemporary southwestern flair. *BYOB* I ordered the Chicken Tacos served in flour tortillas. Big portions which is nice! The dish was served with rice and beans on the side, also a big portion. The chicken was moist and veggies were sauteed perfectly. I was super happy and impressed that the dish seemed way healthier than most Mexican/tex-mex restaurants. It wasn’t smothered in sauce, but instead marinated perfectly. No need for the extra high calorie sauce with such great flavor. Side of guacamole was the perfect touch. I was SO tempted to try the desserts but with the three healthy size tacos I couldn’t fit it. Maybe next time!

My boyfriend and I headed to Mojave Grille for date night on a Friday night around 8. We had a Groupon worth $ 50 that was about to expire and headed over to Westfield to use it. We started with an appetizer that was on special– the Yucca fries with cojita cheese and chipotle aioli. It was my boyfriend’s first time trying Yucca and he loved it. It was perfectly crispy and the aioli was great. As entrees, my boyfriend had the fettucine, which he described as «amazing.» I had the chicken tacos which were very fresh and came with a big helping of rice and black beans. The food, atmosphere and service were all top notch. However, I found that the prices were a bit steep, so the Groupon definitely helped. I wouldn’t mind going back for a special occasion when I want to splurge.
