Great place to safely shoot. I have taken my wife and on another occasion my kids here. Always professional and helpful. Yes you do have to watch a 15 min video the first time and are issued a card. If you keep your card you do not have to watch the video again. The reviews stating you have to watch the video every time are incorrect. Just don’t lose your card. They check your ammo before entering range. Do not«frisk» your bag. Knowledgable and helpful staff and a great place to purchase firearms. Prices are very reasonable! Cheaper than big box stores.

Tims Shooting Academy is hands down the best indoor gun range in this area! CLEAN, professional, knowledgeable, and most importantly, they care about everyone’s safety! People need to realize that businesses have rules in place for a REASON. Whether you like them or not, it comes down to everyone’s safety, protection for their business, etc. If your feelings get hurt because of someone being rude, well at least they apologized, as most places don’t! My 5 year olds feelings get hurt all the time … move on lol. If people think it’s stupid to carry that«card» that verifies that you watched the safety video, well then don’t say anything when a beginner puts a bullet in your ass because he or she didn’t follow rules! Lastly, a box of 223 is 10 dollars! Don’t bitch about driving a long time and spending an extra 10 bucks to shoot your AR-15. The price is within reason. Again, the business has a reason to restrict and inspect your ammo, it’s for EVERYONES benefit! If you don’t like it, go shoot elsewhere, like Dons, lol.(Sarcasm) I’m glad there is a place like Tims in this area. For the haters and complainers in regards to rules, I’m glad when I’m there you aren’t … keeps me and everyone safe!

My husband and I went here with another couple for«date night.» They have a discounted rate on Thursday nights. I was instructed to watch a safety video first as it was my first time and then fill out the form that I understood all the rules. We were assigned a lane and off we went. The one guy came in and kept an eye on us and helped me quite a bit. He was super nice and non judgmental, which I appreciated. After we were done, we went out to pay and the guy working the counter was also friendly and very knowledgeable. I really enjoyed my time there and I’m sure I’ll be back.

RESTRICTIVE, EXPENSIVE, MANIPULATIVE. If you really want to shoot and test different rifle ammo YOUCANNOT do so here. REALSHOOTERSGOELSEWHERE. They do not allow you to use your own rifle ammo. Especially what they deem«military style». This type of labeling goes against all that we do to protect and defend the 2nd amendment as of late. Last I checked AR’s are a modular rifle. They MANDATE that you use their rifle ammo. Pistol ammo is ok JUSTNOSTEELCASETRAININGAMMOLOL. Do not waste your time here. There are other places to shoot. Tim’s shooting academy does not PROTECT the 2nd amendment they MANIPULATE off the grounds of «safety» for their own benefit and profit so they can sell you their expensive and poor quality ammo. Plus your range bags basically gets«stopped & frisked» searched just prior to being let into the range. Lastly, you must watch a 15 minute safety video every time you arrive if you DONOT have your«card» with you. Waste of time if you actually are a trained civilian. The same people that should be protecting the 2nd amendment are the same people that are manipulating it to line their own pockets. CHANGEYOURATTITUDE!

I was really excited to see a new gun store near where I live. The place is new and clean. The people there are really nice to deal with. Why the two star review? They helped me with purchasing my baby dessert eagle. That went really well. But my recent experience with one of their team members was just bad. I recently got into reloading bullets. So I asked about their brass at the range. I asked what they did with it. They told me that they sell them in bulk $ 2/pound. It’s not sorted so it’s mixed caliber brass. That response was good. I then asked if I can come by and sort out from the pile so I do all the work of sorting 9 mm brass? The next response was just plainly rude… «I’m sorry, but you need to buy bulk or don’t buy.» At this point I wasn’t happy how they responded. I read the email threads to my wife and asked her how did that sound to you? She said that was rude. I agreed. I was really excited for this gun store. I simply asked if I can come by and sort out from the pile of brass. The person could have responded something like I’m sorry but we do not allow that… Something like that instead of saying buy this or don’t buy. I responded letting that person know that the response was rude and I did receive a reply saying sorry and sincerely apologized. You can not treat your clients like that. Think about it if that happened to you. Would you be happy? I’m not looking to get any offer or do not want any special sorry for that offer coupon or any treatment like that. I got really disappointed with how the person responded and it would be really hard for me to want to go back there. To Vince D. Apparently you said something about my review. I looked at your other reviews from you and you were sad that your boba in your smoothie didn’t make it in your drink. It’s a boba move on. And stop whining about your boba. You gave that place a 1 star review. Don’t tell me that your 5 year old moves on when people treat others rude. Don’t bash other people’s review. Just write your own review about the place.

Went to Tim’s a few months ago so I could fire a few weapons including my AR-15. I called before driving the 45 minutes from my house to Tim’s to confirm I could indeed fire my AR on their range. While on the phone I asked about pricing and fees. Upon arrival I watch their 10 minute rage safety video. Then filled out the required liability form. At this point I was asked what type calibers I would be firing on the rage. I showed them my PMCFMJ5.56 rounds, .40 rounds, and .380 rounds. I was then told due to my AR being a «military style weapon»… I had to purchase all ammo for it from them to fire it on their range. It would have been really nice to know this before wasting 1.5 hours of driving time. The only reason I drove there was to fire the AR indoors. When people call asking about shooting an AR you should be upfront with them about all fees involved. Due to this I will not return and have not recommended to anyone.

I’ve been to Tim’s two times now, both times I’ve had an excellent experience. The shop is nice and the staff is extremely nice and approachable. That’s a big worry for me regarding gun ranges, but the folks at Tim’s have issues helping you and answering questions. My wife and I went to the range with friends, we brought our own guns. I had to buy additional ammunition onsite and well it’s a little pricey. Price is my only knock about the place. We rented a lane for an hour and used it less than that, brought our own gun, bought 2 boxes of ammunition, rented some ear protection for her, and some targets and came out paying nearly 80 dollars. I’ll go back again no doubt, I’ll just make sure I bring my own ammo and try to squeeze my lane time down to 30 minutes.

Went shooting there last weekend. The guys working there were very knowledgable and friendly. The environment was safe and my wife enjoyed it as well. We will return and even take some classes.

4.5 stars here. I love going to Tim’s to shoot. They have the best ventilation and lighting around. My only complaint is that they don’t allow rapid fire. They don’t allow drawing from a holster either, but that I find a bit more understandable. The shop is small, but nice. Good selection, solid pricing. They have low prices on some items and above average on others, but overall, no complaints.

Clean. $ 22/hr. Must buy $ 1 target, so it’s actually $ 23/hr for pistols and extra for rifles. It’s the only other«clean» indoor range near Indy since BGF is closed due to fire. The old guy(range master) would give free advice to new shooters. There are 10 lanes of 50 ft(16 yards) for handguns and 5 lanes of 75ft(25 yards) for rifles. I haven’t used the gun shop, so don’t know the service quality yet.

Been to the range about 8 times since they opened. Very nice and clean. Ammo prices are typical. The range is on the high side at $ 22 an hour, but it’s convenient. My only real complaint is the you have to buy their targets at, at least $ 1 each. This is REALLYNICKLEANDDIMINGTHECUSTOMERS, particularly since they’re already charging a high rental rate. There will be another range in Carmel soon, so I can’t wait to see how that one stacks up.

Bought my first gun here. The guy behind the counter spent a huge amount of time informing me about the different guns available and how to choose. I was pretty skeptical and decided to go to Gander Mountain to check out pricing. These guys were 10 percent less than Gander, had a special offer available on the gun, gave me range time to shoot after purchasing and spent the time necessary to help me make an informed decision. The only downfall is that their selection is lacking. Definitely worth a visit.

My wife and I bought our first handgun and went to Tim’s to familiarize ourselves and break it in. The entire staff was accommodating and extremely nice. We never felt out of place or embarrassed to ask questions. Top notch, 5 stars.

The range is excellent, the service is excellent, the only concern is the price, it is little bit pricey, if you want to go shoot 50 rounds 9 mm, you need spend around $ 70 for the gun, ammo, and the lane rental. If you have your own gun then it’s another story, the lane rental is like $ 25/hr. The staff is really friendly, the old man in the range(as they call him the range officer) is very nice and educational, he’s willing to teach you how to shoot the gun from A to Z. The people in the front are nice too, it’s nice to see the owner helping customers and taking care of them with the other employees. I’d give them 4.7÷5.
