Absolutely terrible customer service. I brought him a suit to have tailored, because he was supposed to be the best in town. He measured me up, sent me on my way, and said he would call the following week when it was ready. He never called. A week and a half later I called and he said it had been ready for awhile… I arrive to pick it up and try it on. The waist was far too big, and he had to take in another 2 inches. He said he couldn’t have that done for a few days. I return again to pick up my(hopefully) finished suit. Try it on again and the pants are too long, and he gets very upset. He tells me I’m wasting his time with this«cheap $ 400 suit I brought him» and he wants to be done with me. I calmly explain that I would rather not have come 3 times myself and simply would like the tailoring done correctly. He continues to fume while remeasuring the pants and barks at me that he will do it now so we can be finished. I have been to many tailors and they all ask for feedback while deciding on how much to take in a jacket, how long you’d like the pants, etc. Giovanni, in his infinite pretentiousness asked for no feedback and tailored the suit as he wanted. Why would I give direction to a master tailor? It has to come out perfect, as this is his craft. Simply put, he left the pants too long and waste too large, but was furious that I inconvenienced him, by asking him to finish the job I paid almost $ 100 for. The suit was a $ 1,400 Hugo Boss suit, that he was so quick to look down his nose at. Deplorable. I’m sure he can make you an amazing $ 4−10k suit, but I hope you’ll consider who you’re spending that type of money with, before you do.

Okay, this is definitely not an inexpensive place to buy suits. And, yes, it is definitely high end. But, that is because Giovanni carries brands like Brioni, Canali and Oxxford. And, well, call me old fashioned, but nothing feels better than having a Canali suit to wear when you really want to look like a million bucks. Giovanni is a master tailor who trained in Italy. I prefer his selections over those of Adesso, but Adesso is also a great place. The thing is that Giovanni really knows how to make you look good. hahaha, even somebody ancient like me. Yes, I admit it, I am a bit of a suitaholic. It’s in the Promenade adjacent to Crocker Park. You can park in the North End of Crocker and walk through by Borders. Or, there is plenty of parking on the Promenade side.
