Great place for breakfast. Haven’t been there for any other meals yet. Breakfast are very good and a great value.

I’ve been to Mr. Mikes many times. The food is always great. I’m a huge fan of their soups, my favorites being split pea, German tomato, chicken tortilla, and Hungarian dumpling. Yesterday was the first time going since they’ve gotten new ownership. Usually I think it’s a bit pricey for a coney type place but I think they’ve lowered their prices. Using a five dollar off coupon I got two entrees and a carry out for $ 20. Service was a bit lacking, our server dropped the bill off as soon as he delivered our food and never came back. I had to get his attention to order my carry out, to get a box, and for another taziki sauce. Other than that, my spinach pie dinner was flavorful and came with broccoli(bonus) and my friend’s Swedish meatball dish was tastier than it looked. I’ll definitely be coming back, it seems like the new owners are doing a great job so far!

Watered down coffee and juice. Food mediocre at best. Used to eat here frequently but we won’t be back Other breakfast places in our area were busy. We should have been concerned that they had very little in the way of customers. There were 2 other tables occupied. Can’t recommend.

NEWOWNERS! Mr. Mikes has always been a great restaurant, but the new owners have amped it up. Same great food and even better service. Awesome breakfast specials everyday of the week. New prime rib on the weekends, it’s great! Everyone needs to stop in and give Mr. Mikes a try!

I’ve been to this place twice now, once pick up and once dine in. It didn’t really appeal to me as the food was a bit bland and flavorless. The wait staff wasn’t very attentive and I was one of 3 people in the place at the time. Its too much competition in the area to not stand out.

I live across the street from this restaurant and know who the owners are. I asked the lady owner what was in the pasta carbarora(sp) she said she didn’t know and never bothers to ask her staff. What owner does that? Total lack of interest! I will spend my money in the 18 other resturants in the area that want my money! The food is ok, just like all the others in the area. The French Dip, however, is awful.

After today, I don’t think I’ll be back here again. Service was very slow today and the food was mediocre at best. My girlfriend ordered a side of bacon which was undercooked on one side and over cooked on the other. Hashbrowns were cold. Pancakes were rubbery. I’ve been to this restaurant many times and the owners, who are usually there, have yet to acknowledge my patronage. A simple«hello» or «nice to see you again» would go a long way. Someone else can have the title of Duke. I’m done! I gave it 2 stars since the waitress was friendly and did a good job.

It’s a breakfast joint trying too hard. Most of the waitresses aren’t friendly. I had the pleasure of meeting the owners brother one evening while picking up a take-out order. He insisted on pointing out all the waitresses that have the«hottest asses» on the planet. Which could explain why the waitresses aren’t too chipper. Oh, did I mention he said all this in front of my young son and daughter? If my kids weren’t with me, I might be writing this from prison. The only reason we’re here right now is because the kids wanted crepes.

Based on all the reviews, I was really looking forward to trying this restaurant. I stopped by for breakfast this last Saturday. The restaurant wasn’t very busy and I was seated quickly. The ambiance is very cool. Not what you expect for a coney island/diner. I had read the biscuits and gravy were good, so I selected it. The waitress asked me if I wanted a full order or half order. I know how filling biscuits and gravy can be(not to mention all the fat and calories in the dish), so I asked for a half order. She asked if I wanted eggs. I said no, just the biscuits please. She rolled her eyes and walked away. A few minutes later she came out with a platter of food. I am not sure if the biscuits were over mixed or what but they were really crumbly and could not handle the heavy gravy that was poured over the top. The sad biscuits and the heavy sauce resulted in a plate of slop. I could deal with the unpleasant look of things if the taste made it worthwhile, but it didn’t. I ended up walking out of the restaurant disappointed, and kinda disgusted. It while be a long time before I can have biscuits and gravy again. Thanks, Mr. Mike.

My wife and I have come here twice in our search for good, cheap breakfast and dinner foods since we no longer live close to L’Georges in Canton. Mr Mike’s is a contender in the basic diner food area. On this most recent visit I spied the make your own omelette had an option for kielbasa. Not that I expected anything more than an Eckrich, but i could sense a craving coming, so i had a kielbasa and cheddar omelette with hash browns for dinner and the wifey had standard chicken tenders and fries. The food we had was decent… nothing out of the ordinary– probably frozen fries and tenders, but they came piping hot and okay for her. But the standout was my omelette. The kielbasa was sliced just how i wanted it and there was plenty of it, along with gooey sharp cheddar. I probably have a new favorite breakfast. The other time we were here, I had the fish and chips which was kind of blah– the fish was probably frozen cod from a bag most likely. Don’t come in here expecting to be blown away, but try the specials and enjoy the low prices. My wife and I’s omelette and chicken tender dinner still ended up less than $ 15, which is basically what we’d spend at Taco Bell or Wendy’s anyway. Come here for okay diner food fast and cheap, and you will be satisfied. Or bring your parents/grandparents as they’ll like the overall blandness of the food.(I just happen to douse most of my diner food in hot sauce anyway– this place has good hot sauce!).

Mr Mike’s has a new sign for $ 2.99 breakfast specials on their lawn, so I came back in to try one. It was kind of your standard 2 egg with hash browns, meat and toast. I like to substitute grits for hash browns, but these seemed a little dry like an instant version. I’ve tried their burger and fries, which are good, and I’ve tried their BLT, which is my daughter’s favorite. The décor is extremely well done. Roomy booths and classy style. Service is good and I’ve always enjoyed a pleasant dining experience. On more than one occasion Westland’s finest were on hand enjoying a meal as well. I can go 3 stars for more, but I’ll be back…

I used to like going to Mr. Mikes Grill but it seems like the wait staff and/or cooks have no idea what the menu says. Over the last two visits I did not get what I ordered and one of the waitress’s even tried to argue with me about it. First I ordered a potato and cheese omelet. She brought it out and I asked where the hash browns where. She said inside the omelet. I said no there are potatoes in the omelet not hash browns. She went and ordered me a side of hash browns and then brought the menu over to «show» me the potatoes where in the omelet I then pointed to the top of the omelet section that says all omelets come with hash browns and toast she got flustered and went and got my potatoes. This last visit(5−18−13) clearly shows that the wait staff or the cooks have no idea what is on the menu. I ordered a Veggie Feta Pita, instead I received a Vegetarian Gyro. These two pita sandwiches are nothing alike and I’m not sure if the waitress had no idea what I ordered or if it was the cooks, either way I still received the wrong food again. I have given this place a fair amount of chances(because my family likes the food) but it seems like every time I come here I just get frustrated, if my food is correct my waiter/waitress is slow or nowhere to be found. I really believe this restaurant should be great instead it is lackluster and frustrating.

Sometimes I hit the jackpot and sometimes I don’t. :(The breakfasts must be the draw to this place, because dinner didn’t quite do it. The place is nice and spacious. The staff seemed friendly; greeted and seated right away(wasn’t too busy at 6 p.m.) Our waitress wasn’t very enthusiastic about naming some of the faves that the place had to offer. When you have that vast and variety of a menu, what is you specialty??? What is that one thing that you know draws people in and that you really make(it’s not a gordons food reheat special). She offered up a sandwich selection. I mentioned that I might be interested in the evenings special and she was lukewarm on wether or not it was really a seller. My husband asked about a soup that they offer, as the name wasn’t familiar, she wasn’t familiar with it either and described it as an egg drop soup… really? Chinese soup? What ethnic group didn’t they have covered? So I lost all confidence in the level of food that they were going to serve. I ordered gyro combo. Husband ordered the city chicken/potato pancake special. Son ordered the chicken tender dinner. My gyro dinner was typical of a gyro dinner. It was hot, plenty of meat, great T-sauce, not too much red onion. The fries were hot… This meal was also served with a baby greek. The dressing was good. Plenty of feta served on it. I ate the one beet and one cucumber and one slice of tomato and the rest was some bagged lettuce w/feta. My husband thought the potato pancakes didn’t taste like potato pancakes. He thought theyy were more like frozen and then reheated or left overs that were being reheated, but not fresh made(think under the eagle in Hamtramack). The city chicken was bland. Big serving. BUT I think what turned him off to the chicken was the gelatinous gravy. I thought it was breading, it was lukewarm lumpy gravy… He gave me a bite(as I was convinced he was wrong) and I GAGGED BLECh. Now, my husband is not one to complain. We never send food back(don’t want boogies in our food), and he will not let it go to waste, so he ate it:(He feels his way of dealing with it, is just to never return :) LOL My son’s meal was typical as you would get anywhere else that wasn’t making their tenders fresh(tenderloins dipping in buttermilk, batter… and frying). They were nice and hot, not overcooked. Fries… good :) His veggies were DELISH! They were actually the only thing that we all went YUM! Very nice flavor. His dinner came with a soup option. He chose the Chicken tortilla, other than being served lukewarm, it was good in flavor. Now, this was our experience and clearly not the typical visit as indicated by other reviewers(breakfast crowd) I wish I would have tried the Prime Rib, but again the waitress really had a lot to do with not making us feel confident in our selections. The lady in a booth next to us, ordered the broasted chicken and it looked devine(as did the mashed potatoes) My concern with a restaurant that has a menu that offers sooooooo much, may not really offer quality as they do over quantity. How can you be really good at making(and I don’t think most of that stuff is fresh, homemade, handmade… more of a precooked, reheated…). I would rather see a restaurant be really good at making fewer selections really good(and from scratch) then trying to do it all. HAPPYEATING

I went in on a Sunday for breakfast based on looking up a new place(for me) on Unilocal. The reviews looked good, so off I went. I ordered the breakfast special with ham, and it was good, if not somewhat basic(eggs, hash browns, toast…) The side of sausage grave & a biscuit was not bad, but had a very strange odor to it. It smelled like some type of spice, but I couldn’t identify it. It was unfortunately overpowering. Service was good, the place was clean & busy and everything else seemed to be OK. Unfortunately I’ll have to continue my search for the perfect Sunday breakfast joint!

My husband and I were bored with the same old, run-of-the-mill breakfast. On a quest for something different, we decided to try Mr. Mike’s. Boy were we pleasantly surprised! We walked in to a cozy establishment that was CLEAN. Vanessa, our waitress, was friendly and down to earth. There are SO many choices on the menu it was hard to decide. We got breakfast. Biscuits and gravy came with our selection. It looked superb and we couldn’t wait to dig in. One bite said it all: OMG. The gravy was creamy with the perfect amount of sausage bits and the perfect blend of spices. And the biscuits, OHTHEBISCUITS! Hot and melt-in-your-mouth DELICIOUS! The service was great, thank you Vanessa. And the price was right. We will *DEFINITELY* be making a return visit!
