Avenue

I have shopped at this store for many years, just bought some pants and there were no front pockets in them, they were stitched to appear as if they had pockets. I washed them and then discovered the no pockets. Called to return them and they will not exchange if washed. I called the corporate office they could or would not help me. I told them I was closing my account they did not care. So be aware when you buy from this store that you can not wash, wear or take tags off to return.

I have tried and tried to give this store a chance over the last at least 5 – 6 years but I am officially done. The staff has never ever been helpful and I have walked out more times upset then I can count. The staff doesn’t greet u, most of the time they are talking amongst themselves and don’t even notice you have walked in the store. I usually have to track them down for a dressing room and they have never once asked if I was ok. Today I went in and the sale said buy one get one 50% off but first of all it was not ringing up at exactly 50% off… it was a few dollars short, and when I asked if I could take off two items because they were too expensive the women asked the manager to come over and the manager very rudely asked why. Yes their clothes are cheaper then other plus size stores but they are poorly made and matronly. Not worth my time anymore… I don’t know why it took me this long to give up… guess cause there aren’t that many plus size stores around.

I walked in the store today, all three sales associates were standing by the front of the store deep into a converstation — not one of them stopped talking to greet me. They carried on and on as I walked around the store — not one of them asking to help me… I actually had a question regarding some jeans, but felt I shouldn’t have to beg for their attention. I ended up walking out, of course not one of them said a word to me then either. Crazy that a clothing company is paying people to stand around and gossip!

I’ve shopped here off and on for several years. Mostly «off», actually. It seems like many times the clothes are just «matronly» looking and sometimes just cut too boxy for me. I know they are affiliated with Lane Bryant in some way and I’m always surprised when I find a few of the same things there as LB but at a fraction of the price. This doesn’t happen often enough, though.
I ventured in this week to try to find a couple of new mix and match pieces and was actually successful. I wanted to put the items I was holding down, so I could peruse the earrings a little more. The two sales girls were talking behind the desk. The dark haired girl ignored me when I asked if I could set my stuff down. I asked again and she looked at me, didn’t say anything and then turned to talk to the blond girl. I asked again if I could set my stuff down. The dark haired girl turned and stared, said «Yes» as if I was being rude and turned back to her conversation. The blond sensed that this wasn’t being handled properly and tried to engage me in conversation. By this time I was too PO’d.
I picked out a couple of more earrings, brought them up to the desk and set them with the other items, including other jewelry. The same dark haired sales girl asked me with a snide tone if I found everything I wanted and then had the balls to ask if the jewelry was mine. I wanted to punch her in the face. I really did. At one time I had a credit card for this store but didn’t have it with me. She had the nerve to ask if I wanted t o open another one because I’d save 30%. I didn’t care about saving 30%. I wasn’t interested in spending one more minute there or one more dollar.
The rest of the check out process was as enthusiastic-​less as a murder walking The Green Mile. She still seemed to be pissed off at me for bugging her. This one sales girl has completely turned me off to The Avenue. It will be years (or more) until I visit again.
