The best thing here is their Calamari. We were tempted by their happy hour menu and was really disappointed with 4 of the other dishes we tried. And their mixed drinks are really watered down, so just stick to the beer.

Went with a few friends for MNF. It was a great place to enjoy the game and brewskis :) The waitresses are prompt, polite, and hella sweet… and the happy hour is amazing! One of my top picks for game spots around Irvine.

Just came back from this place on a Thursday night. There was a total of 6 people in there, including my friend and I. It was all bad — our waitress was nice, but the service was sloooooowww. It took a long time just to get drinks. The 1 star is for the décor and the music. It’s also tucked away in the middle of a strip mall, so it’s hard to find. Here’s what we ordered so that you know what NOT to order in case you do decide to come here: 1) Tuna sashimi salad(blah, literally, we spit it up) 2) Calamari(all batter, no squid) 3) Coconut shrimp 4) Fried Tofu Oh yea, and they didn’t have anymore sweet potatoes fries and spring mix for the crappy tuna salad.

Went here with a group of friends a few weekends ago and loved the design and atmosphere of the place. The management and staff here are very friendly and helpful to everyone there. It was a friend’s graduation night and they came out and gave us drinks on the house. How cool is that? The menu has a nice selection appetizers so there’s something for everyone. I ordered the«Hanoi sizzling fish»…I usually don’t like fish but just by the name I had to order it! I’ve never had anything quite like it as it had a mixture of noodles w/rice crackers? Sounds weird but it was good. It’s right behind«Phở 54» so it’s kind of hard to find off the main road.

wanted to watch the lakers destroy jazz on game 4 this past monday… i was figuring out where to go. my girlfriends and i wanted to watch it around westminster/garden grove and i searched for lakers game near westminster on Unilocal and citryst was the first thing i saw. we got there and ordered the mango soju($ 20) and the butter fried chicken wings. –mango soju: wasn’t strong enough for me… i’m korean so usually i just drink it straight. and it was $ 20 for about 12 shots… it took 4 for us to feel slightly buzzed(4 girls) –beer: $ 3…that’s a pretty good price for a restaurant/bar –chicken wings: wow… the chicken wings… are amazing. one of the best places i’ve had them. the butter sauce w/the veggies and jalapenos made the wings perfect. i will definitely come back next time there’s a game and i’m in the area.

Oh god. I did not know this place was like a coffee shop environment. I came here because I wanted some Calamari and chicken. Everybody’s raving about this place & The main pic that showed up was a big plate of calamari, so it made me crave it some more! I came in here– it was dark, kinda empty. There was a table full bunch of old guys, drinking and smoking. The fact the food was expensive. Calamari was $ 10. Pad Thai $ 10.50, BBQ Beef(Asked for well done, It was still red) w/No rice $ 14. The peanuts they gave us to eat while we wait was free&good :) The customer service is great. But never coming back here again. Not that I hate it, but it is not the kind of place for me. This is more like a place for guys to come and hang out, drink beer, watch sports, eat. It’s funny how there’s a sign in the restaurant saying«No Smoking» yet all the people in there are smoking.

I’ve been hearing about this place lately since they changed owners and it seems like it’s starting to get recognized by the locals. People come in here for cheap drinks($ 3 beers), good food especially the fried ice cream & wings. The fried ice cream is probably the best dessert they have there, ours came to the table and was finished in literally 2 minutes. The ambiance of the place is pretty much chill, low lighting, colorful décor, but they have TVs on every wall for the sports fans and music for everyone to vibe out to while they’re eating or just hanging out after work. Whenever people hear about Citryst, they think it’s some sort of Vietnamese coffee shop/lingerie lounge, but it’s FAR from it. It’s a restaurant and the waitresses there are really nice and dress casually like any normal restaurant would have. To sum it all up: Gentlemen, come here for a good time and get your sports/food on, if your ladies don’t like sports they can eat/talk/dance to the top40s joints playing. Come one come all! Citryst is THE place to be.

Citryst is a wonderful place to chill in orange county. There are very few places where you can go and just chill and feel comfortable without having to feel like you are A) Spending too much and B) You are inconveniencing the staff by being there. Really a lot of places becomes overcrowded because its so hyped up but the staff is crappy and and the food sucks and you just be there because its the only thing open. Citryst is far from this feeling. I was debating on even Unilocaling this place because its so chill that i don’t want anyone to take over the new hangout spot. However, that wouldn’t do this place justice. I can’t have one of the only places to go out to get overrun and regulars not even get a space. This place treats all the newcomers as familiar faces regardless of how many times you’ve been there. The management is dope and laid back. Cheap beer, great food, great waitstaff, nice clean bathrooms, kick back atmosphere, sectioned off areas for intimacy, large tv’s throughout and hit tracks and oldies blasting. You cant find anything as kick ass as this place. It’s a nice place to keep coming home to after a long week of school. I deserve a nice break from the busy life. And so do you. Get on it. And get juiced over at Citryst. Did i tell you this place has good parking? no i didn’t. and yes yes it does. I dont like to give 5’s but when they’re deserving you gotta hand it to them.

LOVELOVELOVE this place! The décor and style of the restaurant is beautiful and I really like the lounge-like feel. The food is amazing, service is always great and they always have good music playing. You must try the Soju and the wings! One of my favorites is the lamb, sooo gooood! I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone!

This place is kind of hidden so I didn’t know it existed until a couple years after it had opened and I basically live right next to it! The place itself has a very modern look to it(not a typical Asian restaurant where the whole place is just one big rectangle). This place is separated into 3 sections and each section has a big ass screen TV. A lot of customers tend to go here to watch the game because it’s in high def. The workers are pleasant. They seat you right away and on slow nights they even let you sit where ever you want. Although, some might assume, because of the environment, that it has a bar-like feel it to it is after all a restaurant so it’s recommended that you have to order something to eat and not just drink alone. The workers will sometimes drink with you on slow nights which I don’t mind. The more the merrier right? The food and music is tasteful. I love the baluts there! Probably the best baluts around. Normally when i go there I would order the baluts right away because it takes about 30 minutes to make since they cook it upon request so it’s basically fresh. If you ever cooked baluts at home then you would know if it comes out 30 minutes later, then it’s freshly made. The beer is cheap and they have a variety of flavorful sojus you can pick from. I mainly order regular and strawberry which is the most popular ones there.

So I decided to check out this hidden gem on McFadden and Brookhurst after my friends were raving about it. I am a little white boy, and feel out of place sometimes as Asian restaurants, but the staff here was so nice and spoke perfect English. Really cute young nice ladies too. The place is decorated nicely and has a very nice lounge-y feel to it. I love the LED wall panels. They have a large menu and the prices are reasonable. Although this is Vietnamese place, they do not serve Phở. They have a ton of other options. My favorite part about this place is they have 24 cent KOBEBRYANT wings during Laker Games. They are really good, and the price is unbeatable. I’ve never had wings so cheap. They have about 9HDTV’s there, they are about 60 inches, they are HUGE.

TOUCHDOWNSAINTS! was all that was playing in my head when a couple friends and I were here for the Super Bowl. Stepped inside Citryst and noticed the modern and welcoming décor off the bat. There was private booths and open tables and the it was very spacious. Environment was very chill, and we had posted up right in the middle of the restaurant. TV’s were posted up on every wall and no matter where you’re sitting in the restaurant you have a clear line of sight to a tube. Music was good, they played top 40’s and every once in awhile some old 80’s club song would come on. The waitresses were very attentive and catered to our needs in a timely manner. We got there before kickoff so we started with a couple beers and buffalo chicken wings. I’m a wing fan and these were deeeelish! I think for our party of 6 we ended getting about 7 orders! But the food didnt stop there, we also had calamari, french fries, curly fries, crispy rice with chinese sausages. All appetizers because of the game, but will definitely go back for a main dish! As we started to get buzzed off the beers and the saints were down, we decided to step our drinking game up and get drunk because our team was losing. We met the owner Alex and he suggested we drink strawberry soju. Now i’m not a big fan of soju but this was to die for! As the game started to come to an end we were pretty drunk and the Saints won! All in all, I give this place two thumbs up and will surely be coming back. Staff was great, beers were cheap, food was awesome and the Saints win it for New Orleans! We all won that day!

Saw this place on Unilocal and thought we’d give it a try… the reviews seemed decent enough… Have to say… the ambience was quite neat… from all the dark wood of the furniture to the glowin wall décor… The music was quite good too… I’m not the biggest hip hop fan but it played a mix of that and dance music so that was a surprise… felt more like a club than a sports bar ha… The food was good… some dishes were too spicy for me but the flavors were right up my alley… think the calamari was my favorite… it was spicy but worth it hah… Shame they didn’t have hard alcohol the night we came in… we decided to grab some red wine and beer for our meal… NOTE: People do smoke in here… we didn’t notice it much but it was definitely there… so for nonsmokers… just a forewarning… Overall good place… would definitely like to try the other dishes!
