The doctors here are really great! Everyone basically is great here but one problem, the Asian receptionist. She is the reason I’ve decided to go to another optometrist. She is so rude! I have cal-​optima and it seems she doesn’t like patients with that type of insurance. I’ve noticed she treats us way differently than others. She talks down on you as if she’s better than you. And her attitude I just can’t handle. If you can handle that then go ahead, the doctors are great. All I know is that I will not be returning.

I have visited this office for about 2 years and was recommended to them by my boyfriend who’s been coming here since a really young age. Dr. Bass is great but the only problem with this place is the receptionists. I’m sorry to say that we had a situation with some frames that were ordered and instead of trying to figure out a solution, we were talked down to and told that what we wanted couldn’t be done. When our request couldn’t be accommodated, instead of calling us to inform us of the problem and ask us if we still wanted to go through with the order, they made the decision to continue placing the order and AFTERWARDS tell us about the issue that they ran into. With this in mind, good customer service would have meant informing the customer beforehand and not being rude after the customer is dissatisfied and unhappy with the frames. You’ve lost a new and long time customer! Mistakes happen but keep your customers in the loop when something changes and don’t make the decision for them. When these mistakes do happen, be respectful instead of talking down to them.

I have been going to Dr. Bass Vision Center since I was in seventh grade. I am now a sophomore in college. I wear both contact lenses and eye glasses. The staff here is my favorite and everyone is so kind. I look forward to my eye appointments knowing that I am in excellent hands. Thank you to everyone at the Vision Center, I cannot imagine going anywhere else! :)

I had a fantastic experience visiting Dr. Bass’s office. Dr. Bass and his staff were friendly and professional. Making my appointment was super easy and I got my new glasses the same day. It was just a great stress free experience. I don’t ever wanna go anywhere else. Thank you so much!

I love this office! Luckily I don’t have insurance and can have my glasses made right in the store! It seems a lot of people had bad reviews because it took so long to get their glasses. I think that’s because they have to use the insurances lab. Very unfortunate that people blame the office for something out of their control! I have always been happy with the glasses I’ve gotten from their lab, and they are usually done within a few days! I hope others realize not every job is done at this office, the staff is super nice and tries to let everyone know up front how long things will take. My experiences have always been great! Fantastic doctor and wonderful staff. Great frame choices also!

My daughter had an appointment today & the receptionists were complaining to each other the entire time that we were there. My daughter was seen quickly. She ended up needing glasses (a 1^st for her). She picked out her frames. The man told us it would take 2 weeks. Then. As we were leaving the ladies said «we’ll see you in 4 – 5 weeks.» I said «4 – 5, not 2 weeks?» They replied «sometimes the prison goes on lock down.» I was confused & asked «what?» They let me know that her glasses were going to be made in the prison & they go on lock down so it usually takes longer.
4 – 5 weeks to wait for my daughter to get her glasses from prison while she is still having headaches. Shame shame. This is the 1^st & it will be the last visit here.

Excellent service. Can’t possibly find a better optometrist in the area. Extremely friendly staff and the doctor explains everything very easily for you. I first got my contacts here and the doctor was very patient with me. Especially since I’m such a klutz, his patience really helped me come to like contacts.

Simply stated, Dr bass is the salt of the earth. He has given me the best vision correction I have ever known and my prescription is far beyond unusual/​complicated. As a child I was diagnosed with corneal ulcers and my vision and rx are difficult to say the least. Dr bass stops at nothing to give me the best visual acuity. He is never abrupt or dismissive and takes the time to make sure his patient is completely satisfied and happy before they leave his office. I have had optometrists turn me away b/​c my prescription is too difficult.
Dr bass is a modern day miracle worker and if he can figure out my prescription, I know he can figure out anyone’s! In short, Dr Bass kicks a – !!!

Dr. Bass and his staff are very friendly. I’ve been going here for several years simply because I like Dr. Bass and everyone that works here. Great customer service.
When I first started wearing contacts I had a hard time putting them in. Dr. Bass was really helpful and took the time to help me learn how to easily put them on and take them off.
My most recent experience with Dr. Bass’ office was as good as ever.
I was running a little late picking up my contacts and called to see if they were still open. They said they would wait for me. I got there a little after closing time and they were still there with my contacts all ready to go. This was on a Friday evening. Thanks!

I wish I could give NO STARS… I called this morning and got the typical programmed receptionist as I was TRYING to schedule and eye exam for my son. The first thing she said was WHAT KIND OF INSURANCE DO YOU HAVE? I then told her and she said she could not get my son in until the 30^th. Keep in mind she didn’t bother to ask if he was in pain, had hurt his eye and most important was he having problems seeing… yes he is!!! I knew she was lying so I waited about an hour and called back saying I was a CASH patient… guess what??? She could get me in tomorrow at 11:00…very nice!!! I will not tolerate being treated this way and I will not accept other single moms being treated this way either…
So good luck Dr. Bass in getting new patients and please remember that without patients you have no job! I am taking my son tomorrow at 2:00pm to another optometrist…

I have been coming to this doctor for several years now. My daughter and just recently my son needed glasses. We had the honor of having Dr Bass check out our son. The doctor made my son feel so comfortable by knowing how to talk to him. The doctor and the staff exhibit wonderful customer service. They have a wonderful selection of major name brand glasses. For people without any form of insurance, the cost of prescription classes are on the higher side.

1. Great selection of frames in the mid-​to high-​end price ranges.
2. Optometrists are professional and accurate. I especially like doctor Bass.
3. Retail staff are knowledgeable and know all the right questions to get customers the best glasses for their needs.
4. Fast, efficient service; I got my prescription glasses in 3 business days.
5. And the fifth star goes to how fully I rock the shades they helped me pick out!

Dr. Bass and their staff are amazing… They take their time with each and every client and go the extra mile with their vendors when ever there is a problem with a frame… I have never ever had a frame replaced due to a rhinestone falling out!!! They went to the mfg and got me a new pair… Dr. Bass is the best out there! He is kind, and knows the most up to date treatments and is patient with clients like me!!! The Bass Vision Center will definitely go the extra mile for their patients!!!

This place may not look like much from the outside, but don’t judge a book by it’s cover.
They have a huge selection of Nike glasses (if you are into the third world, sweat shop, sorta frames) or other fashionable eye frames. I was fitted for some comfortable contacts– and they were the first to diagnose me with astigmatism. They did all sorts of thorough testings and my contacts have never been more clear.
The optometrist’s are super nice and very thorough. The opticians are knowledgeable and very friendly. And the front desk ladies are accomodating and cordial. Dr. Tsukamoto and Bass are the best optometrists in Huntington Beach, hands down!
