DONOTEATHERE!!! THEYAREDIRTYANDFILTHYINTHEKITCHEN… EWWW. YOUWILLNOTBELIEVEIT. My friend’s mom works here. Just through our casual conversation, she mentioned of her employment as a kitchen staff here at Huong Dong Co Noi. They have 1 pot of boiling water… they would blanch everything in there, like noodles, meat, fish, squid, vegetables and whatever you can think of… yep, everything in this one pot for the whole day. She said by noon time, this pot smells like«SEWAGE» and looks like dirt water which caused her wanting to throw up and lost her appetite. Many times the meat and fish go rotten, they still cook it up and serve the customers… as customers would not know. She also said, they don’t even wash the vegetables… just chop them up and cook. She feels bad for the customers because they had no idea what they were eating and what went behind closed door, in the kitchen i mean. In addition to that, the restaulratnt owners would treat their employees like servants, scream yell, curse… you name it. She feels bad working there, but as a woman over 40 who just settled in US for a few months. She got to follow the restaurant’s routine to keep her job and would’nt dare speak up. She got bills to pay and no english to get her way around. I feel bad for her. The worst part is, I had eaten here twice. Now I think about it, i want to throw up too. I went here to eat with my parents a few days ago and this place is amazing! I don’t really know why most of the reviews are so bad, but I’m gonna give my honest opinion. Not everything was perfect, but the cooking reminded me so much of Vietnam. I haven’t been to Vietnam for 6 years, but I remember what their food tasted like. The service was good, but not the best, that’s why I took off one star. The place was amazingly decorated though! Would definitely come back here!

Food was alright. Ordered seafood hot pot and a few other rice and meat dishes. They messed up our order a few times and forgot a lot of items. The service is not the best, but partially I think it’s because they don’t have enough people to accommodate their customers.

Really small portions for high price food. Plus the food seems to be old, refrigerated, and then heated in the microwave upon serving. Cold white rice! Come on people. Hot steamy white rice is the least you can do. One star for seem to be friendly waiters/waitresses.

I thought this place was super overpriced. The fact that they gave us a cracked plate shows they really don’t care. We order the fish(ca nuong da gion), an order of clams(ngheu hap xa), wings and hot pot(lau ca). It came out to be about 115. They were kind of stingy with the noodle and the rice paper, so we kept getting interrupted waiting for them to get more for the fish. The clams were very sandy, I guess they don’t attempt to clean it before serving. I kept getting grains of sand. The wings were super dry and hard. No flavor. They fried it to death. The hot pot, they threw the veggies that disintegrate in first, meanwhile leaving the ingredients that took forever to cook sit on the side. Eventually waiting for the ingredients to cook, everything just dissolved. Service was okay. mediocre. There was nothing special about this place. Overrated.

Came here and ate last week. The food was not bad, but the service was way lacking. Customer service was really poor. The servers just threw the menus on the table. Tip: If you want to take care of your customers and want them to come back, learn how to do it p r o p e r l y. & Ehhhhhhhh, adding an extra star cause food was edible. :/

I NEVER give bad reviews, but this place deserves one… Very shady business. Check your receipts before leaving because they’ll add 15−20% gratuity without telling you. If you ask them, they’ll deny it. I ordered the fried chicken to-go for my boyfriend and when he bit into the wings, they were still bloody on the inside. Food poisoning risk, overly priced food AND secretly adding gratuity? Not worth it. The two star rating is way too generous for them.

Omg ate here not Happy with the service plus other things, the foods was not that great i think is way over priced, friends and family gathering afternoon brunch not so Happy, everyone in my group was so shocked when realized that we re being over charged 45 $, my whole bill should have been 330 $ instead of $ 376.17 !!! This should be a warning for everyone … Unprofessional as this they totally scam people, everyday !!! Shamed on them pls take a look of my receipt then do the math!!!

Make sure you triple check your receipt with this restaurant. They will charge you 15%-20% tip WITHOUT your knowledge. Actually, we called it theft because they are taking your money without your authorization. Shady & dishonest business practice and the food aren’t that great. I’ll make sure consumer affair knows about this restaurant.

This is my second time here. Overall, the restaurant had a nice vibe. Good lighting inside. The service so far for me two times has been great. The price is not cheap but I can see past that because the service is very good and the foods are good too. If the service is bad then I would not have come back regardless if the food is good. Small but cozy place.

I had a decent meal here but the pricing was pretty outrageous for a Vietnamese restaurant in Westminster. My biggest gripe about this place is how unprofessional the staff was, but I will explain it in my review. We arrived on a Saturday night as a party of 10 and had to wait around 45 mins to get seated. We were such a big party that they skipped us in the queue to hold a table for us, but they forgot about us when more people arrived so we had to remind them of our place in line. Once we got seated and started ordering, the person taking our order did not write down orders. I was a bit irritated that she kept on trying to make recommendations in attempt to upsell us even though we ordered a lot of food already. She kept doing this after every other item that we ordered… At the end, she repeated what we ordered and we had to correct her because she did not note down everything correctly. As our food started arriving, she’d come out to re-confirm the items we ordered and, again, tried to upsell. Some items that we ordered: eggrolls, claypot fish, the sour hotpot with fish, some shellfish, and the octopus & mango salad. Most of the items were decent, but the claypot fish and the hotpot were way too sweet! Towards the end of our meal, we were waiting for the last items to come out, but they never arrived. After waiting a bit, we checked in with our waitress, who explained that she forgot to place the order. I kind of expected this when she didn’t take notes and just make recommendations. Anyway, we reviewed our check for accuracy after we received it and the manager was blatantly trying to rush us out. We explained to him that we didn’t receive an item that we ordered so we just wanted to double-check and he argued with us saying that ‘if we ordered it we would’ve received it.’ He, then, screamed the waitress’s name and when she confirmed that she missed some items, he rudely reprimanded her in front of us, took our cash, gave us our change, and walked away. This experience left a bad taste in my mouth and all of that, along with the expensive prices, makes me not want to come back here again.(Edit: Sidenote, just glanced at other reviews and it looks like there were more instances of the staff arguing in front of customers…)

Came here with my family and relatives for dinner. It was such a busy night and the restaurant was filled with people. We waited about 30 minutes for a big table to fit everyone in our party. There were also big parties waiting ahead of us too. Food here is pretty good but the way they seat everyone is hard to do a family style dinner. All the portions here are big and good enough to share. It’s a typical Asian restaurant but for some reason the service is horrible. It’s worse than other typical Asian places. The servers are flat out rude and they keep sighing under their breaths when customers are waiting and are in their way when they are trying to bring out food. After getting our food, they pretty much disappeared. We had to ask for the check and go to the front to pay. The owners are pretty nice. I just see a lot of attitude from the servers when it’s during rush hour

Honestly, you can find the same plate at a different price. Everything is pricey and not worth trying. The store itself is small and cozy. Not great for big parties. Save your time and money.

It’s so sad for me to give this place such a bad review because I do find the food tasty and delicious! Let’s start out with the good. I do recommend their bun cha gio and their fried fish dish if you do choose to go… Now for the bad. First, for vietnamese food in Westminster, they are very expensive. Most places will charge at least 3 $ less for the same item. Portion is okay, for the price, it should be bigger in my opinion. Bun Bo Hue is not spicy or flavorful. Parking in the center is horrible, always crowded but of course, that is not their fault. However, cleanliness is def their responsibility. The table smells like wet mildew. There was a piece of HAIR in the bun cha gio, and the counter looks like they have never been wiped down. The seats feel sticky and overall, I give them a C for cleanliness.

These dishes were supposed to be sour. The customer service is terrible. They conveniently told me their visa machine broke so that they could get cash. This place is a sham because they’re charging you too much for bad quality. DONTGOHERE.

The food here was like good ol’ Vietnamese home cooking. However, the service was very typical of a Vietnamese restaurant, so i would say 3.5 stars. We had a large group of 15 for lunch on a Sunday. It was around 1:30p and they were able to accommodate us just by moving several tables together, which was nice. But it was very chaotic and unorganized when the food came out here and there. Some of us were practically done eating by the time others got their food. A few of the things that I liked: –family style and a la carte options –large portions –many traditional options that remind me of my mom’s home cooked meals –everything is made to order –good ca kho –many dishes are served with a lot of side veggies for wrapping, dipping, etc. Where they can improve: –service, service, service! –acknowledge customers and let them finish talking before turning away –take everyone’s order at once –stop serving water in small styrofoam cups –more vegetarian options If you want the whole fried fish, it takes upwards of 30 – 45 minutes to prepare so order that first thing if you know you want it. Overall, decent experience but not likely to return since there are so many options in this area for similar meals.

For a store that’s newly opened I think it’s pretty good! I originally wanted to give this place 3.5 stars… But we all know we can’t do half stars on Unilocal… I came here with my parents since my dad said he saw this place was always crowded. We went on a random weekday so we didn’t have to wait for any line and we got our food fairly quick. The verdict? We ordered: canh chua ca, ca kho, & ca chien Canh chua ca: if you translate this to English it literally means sour fish soup… The soup is suppose to be sour and tangy… But it was so sour I couldn’t even finish my bowl of soup. It was oddly sweet too… As for the fish, my parents usually take the fish out and dip it in fish sauce. The fish was tender, moist and fresh! Ca kho: it was very well flavored and the fish(like the fish in the canh chua ca) was tender, moist, and fresh. Ca kho is originally suppose to have a very heavy saucy taste… But if you eat this in combination with the bean sprouts, it’s so good! The saucy-ness balances out with the subtle light bean sprouts. Ca chien: fried fish! All the fish dishes were fresh :3 … Once you rip the fish, dip it in the fish sauce it comes with, and it’s pretty good! All in all, my parents and I enjoyed the dishes! The total came out to be $ 40 and we ordered a lot of dishes!

Supposedly the place to get ca kho and canh chua ca… but i will never know. Came in on a DEAD Sun night. They wanted to seat me and my parents in the dark dusty corner, and my parents said, «No way, no thank you!» and we left. There were A TON of tables available, too! Hate it when establishments do this!!! This place used to be Dong Khanh but not anymore. I won’t come back unless my parents really insist… i doubt it! Therefore, the neutral rating!
