Good Diner. Craving of cheesecakes can be satisfied from here anytime. W/coffee. Amazing steak. Good for to-go as well.

My first time coming here and I love this place! It has a very homey feeling to it. Majority of the people that come here are regulars who all know each other. The food here is pretty diner like food. I got the breakfast special with a waffle eggs and sausage. Half through I realize I was stuffed! The service here is great too! Everyone is so kind and friendly. Such a great place that I passed by so often. I’d probably come here every now and then for some breakfast such a lovely place this is.

This location is our go-to place for weekend family breakfast. Waitresses in the morning shift are great and always very attentive. Quality of breakfast is consistent and never disappointing. It could get crowded sometimes but most of time we can find parking and seats with no or little wait. My only wish is that the dining area(table, seats, floor under table) and bathrooms can be maintained clean. Perhaps they can use a little remodeling or freshen up because it’s an old restaurant.

Loved this place, my food took a while but it was well worth it. I ordered the fried zuchinni’s for an appetizer, they are the best I’ve ever had, NOTFROZEN, they were fresh and crisp. For dinner I ordered the chicken fettucini, you can automatically tell the pasta is made fresh and the sauce is amazing… Im addicted. need to go again.

Place is not bad for a typical American diner. Service can be a bit slow. Salad is ok, I really like their lentil soup. Their rib eye steak is awesome for the price. How the steak is cooked however, is a hit or miss. I always order pink/medium, but most of the time it comes back to me well done, which kind of sucks. I’m too afraid to order medium rare because one time I did and it was like bloody raw. Steak fries and baked potato are good as well. Their fried zucchini is delicious. Their breakfast selection is also delicious, especially their pancakes! So yummy, fluffy, and large. If you get steak and eggs, their toast is yummy too because they always spread on tons of butter and have a variety selection of jams for you. We sometimes order to go, if you’re getting steak, best to order medium rare, because once you bring it home it usually is a perfect medium. Just gotta check and make sure they pack everything, they sometimes forget/leave an item. Compared to Norms, I think this place is way better. Portions in Norms are way too small(especially steak). Compared to Maes café, this place is still better in terms of steak and service. Maes café is always too crowded and very limited parking, its frustrating.

Unfortunately we have loved this place for many years but our last few trips have been so bad that we aren’t gonna be coming back. Burt food, brown lettuce, and very rude staff. Tonight we sat with empty coffee cups, and water cups while our waitress stood holding the coffee pot talking to her friends. After a good five minutes I finally interrupted her and said can we get some refills. She half turned just enough to put some coffee in my cup while still talking to her friends. Then my husband who’s cup was also empty has to ask for coffee. My three year old sat almsot 10 minutes waiting for water while our waitress walked back and fourths before I had to ask a different waitress. The only reason I didn’t give them a 1* is because as we were paying the manager asked how our food was and we told him about everything and he credited us for my daughter’s pancakes. I normally would have sent everything back and have the last few times because we have had these same issues lately, but it was late and we were all just tired an my daughter had already waited so long for her food.

We always come at least once or twice a week. Today we walk in the day is down and said some will be right with you well no one came or even said I’ll be with you in a moment. We there for ten mins and nothing. A couple walked in for sites and with in 2 mins a server come and asked them what would you like to drink? Really wow talk about service … I am disappointed with staff. My family of three walk out. Guess what they didn’t care so I think that I need to find a another place to eat. I have beefing going to spires for over 20 years and to be treated like we don’t matter hmmm makes me wonders who now days really cares about customer service. To those who enjoy going to spires I am happy for you and hope you get better service than I did. As for I don’t plan to every come back you have lost a loyal customer oh yes and I know the owner of this one spires also owns the one in Anaheim I spot going there too. I couldn’t give them a — star but I would … Very unhappy loyal customer

We arrived right after 8:30 for but the place is nearly empty of customers. So we are sitting seated quickly and time for a waiter was very short. you must order water if you wish to have some. Did not order coffee… this was significant because I have my travel mug with me when I asked later to have it topped off they refused unless I bought coffee. Seems like a strange custom for a diner when we are used to free refills elsewhere. Perhaps you’re spoiled here in the US. I had one of the breakfast specials; sourdough French toast, which was surprisingly good. Comes quickly with bacon and eggs made to order. Good food at a reasonable price, but next time I’ll order coffee first. Recommended, I will return.

Today July 10th or the 11th since it was 1am… This was the worse experience here ever,! We all came in here as a group after bowling with about 9 to 10 people. The lady waitress was rude from the beginning and we asked to at a bigger table and she GA e us an attitude… We were cru chef up in the corner and then she said fine with an attitude… We help move the tables and then got comfortable… Then a Hispanic looking guy with a Hispanic accent came out to serve us instead now which was odd. He told us with an attitude saying he is the nicest and sincere guy so we have to respect him and listen to what he has to say? I was so confused on the situation and he immediately said welcome to spires and we need to keep it as a family restaurant atmosphere… We just got there and didn’t say anything yet and seated ourselves… I am assuming at this point he was stereotyping a big group is routy or a handful… We all cam from bowling and having fun till here… He then asked if we wanted something to drink and my friend said any beer as a joke and then the guy waiter said we don’t want drunks here and you guys need to leave? I was so frustrated and asked him we pay your bills so why are you so angry and giving us poor service… He then said you guys are all drunk and need to leave?! Wow… Him assuming things was the worst and lost at least 150 to 200 dollars sale through all of us assuming we are drunk? There was only one person that drank at the alley and he had one beer lol… Us just making a joke of they had beer he assumed we were all drunk and kicked us out?! All I ha e to say is this place is terrible with service and also this is the reason why spire franchises are all closing down… Dennys and maes Café is the place to be and service is there and want your business… Spires don’t want your business and immediately on a Friday night with a group of people they thought we were drunk and we didn’t even drink lol… Don’t go here and service sucks… Sorry just being honest.

The soup is great tasting as always. The portion size is perfect. The main course tonight is my chef salad, the salads here are wonderful most of time. The salad today was made sloppy in huge chunks of meat, the Swiss cheese was dry. Overall my salad wasn’t good today. The service was quick and helpful.

Located near the Motel 6. This has been here for a long time and my BF wanted to try the steak here after seeing his friend eat it… big mistake. I was surprised with how many people were eating there! Many of them were seniors and they seemed like regulars since the servers seem to know them by name. You definitely get a lot of food here though. Almost every entrée comes with soup/salad, 2 sides, and garlic bread. What we got: Daily Vegetable Beef Soup: they have different soups each day and the day we went they had Navy Bean Soup… so the vegetable beef soup it is! Didn’t have many beef pieces, but soup was good anyway! Probably the best thing of that night. It was a little bit on the oily side, but besides that it was tasty. Dinner Salad: just your typical green salad and croutons. Rib Eye Steak & Breaded Shrimp($ 16): comes with 2 sides so my BF decided to get fruits and rice. Steak was chewy and didn’t have any flavor and the A1 sauce didn’t make it taste any better. The breaded shrimp wasn’t crunchy at all and tasted like the frozen boxed ones… fruit wasn’t all that fresh tasting and rice was left untouched after one bite… Fish & Chips($ 9.75): was also suppose to come with 2 sides, but the server asked if french fries were okay and then automatically gave me fried zucchini sticks with it. Fine with me since I like fried zucchini sticks anyway. 3 big pieces of fish, but it didn’t taste good at all… didn’t have a fishy taste, but something was off about it… fries weren’t crunchy and the zucchini was definitely the winner of this dish. Service: Our server seemed to forget or else just take a really long time to get us everything we needed. We had no utensils when our food was brought out and we didn’t see him for a good 5 minutes. But he was good on making sure we had enough to drink. Once you are done, a receipt will be brought to you, but go up the the cashier to pay.

I love this place!!! It totally reminds me of when I was a little girl!!! So, Ive driven by Spires everyday for over 5 years… and Ive never eaten there. One day, I ask my husband if he has ever dined at Spires. He tells me that he has been many, many times, and that he likes it. So he took me. We’ve been going ever since! So, this review is an overall review, based on about 8 – 10 visits. So, first off, this is not a fancy type restaurant. It reminds me of, like an IHOP or a Dennys inside. It smells the same… with the older carpet and décor. I love that!!! This restaurant is right off the freeway and also in the same parking lot as a Motel 6, so there are usually all types of different diners inside. Especially at night. It keeps things interesting!!! Don’t worry, its safe though, and the CHP is right next door. I believe Spires is open 24 hrs. I love the food. The menu has so many choices. Everything from big breakfasts to steak dinners. Ive tried many different things, depending on my mood, of course. Check out the chalkboard when you come in the front door. It will list the specials. Some of the specials are great, and the price is always right. You get a LOT of food at this place. Again, it reminds me of restaurants in the 70’s, very cool place. If you are looking for a casual place to hang out, and have coffee with your friends, or eat dinner with the family, try Spires. If you and your friends are exhausted and starving from a night of dancing at the club, Spires. Seriously, check it out. This place is pretty cool.

SPIRES Restaurants are a SoCal locally owned chain of coffee shop style classic diner food restaurants. Great basic fare at a reasonable price. Pleasant Surprises: (1) You might not be expecting any Healthy Choices options from a coffee shop style restaurant serving chicken fried steak, but SPIRES offers some pleasant surprises to keep you healthy with a lower calorie intake than some other venues. Plus they also offer some healthy choices like zucchini spears as a side alternative to french fries. (2) They have a huge free parking lot. Access is only on the Goldenwest side, so if you are approaching from the 22, you will need to turn left at the intersection and then get in the left hand turn middle area to turn into the Motel 6 parking lot and enter their parking lot where the 2 parking lots connect. I am part of a local Non-profit’s board. The Orange County member folks of Associated Square Dancers( ) need to meet for a monthly meeting to remain compliant with our status. Spire’s gives us the space at no charge as we each order a dinner. This is a great feature these days because more and more of the other coffee shop chains like DENNY’s wants either to have you pay a fee to use this sort of room, yes, on a Mon or Tues night when the place is nearly empty and you’d think they’d be grateful 20 – 25 people purchasing dinners. Or Denny’s or Rib Trader wanted a $ 15 minimum for each person. My bill here at SPIRES is just under $ 10, PLUS they have a nightly special meals option. You can get full meals complete with a little desert item for 7, 8, or 9 bucks. Why would we go someplace else that wants us to $ 5 more per person? SPIRES is great. They have specials each night of the week and also offer a senior discounted menu which is an nice option for a few of the folks who attend the monthly meeting. We are a LARGE group of nearly 20+ people each month. They take great care of us. Lots of water and coffee refills. Our server is great. They set up the room for us before we get there and move an extra table if need be when we have more people show up. Yes, there is free Wi-Fi. The special dining room we use has a large American Flag already there, so it’s perfect for Chamber of Commerce, Rotary, Kiwannis, LIONS, JCs, et al who meet and need a quality meeting room equipped with an American Flag.

Our server, Brianna was AWESOME. She was so sweet and dealt with my crazy family perfectly! Everything was perfect. Drinks were kept up with, meals were out at a reasonable time, and she even sat around and chit chatted for a bit with us. Its hard to find personal service like that anymore. Keep up the great work!

Hubb and I had dinner here tonight. Food came out cold(fries, garlic bread and roll). Did not synchronize their food prep. However the cobb salad was good:-) The waiter guy seems to be always in a rush, water was not filled up. Have to ask for a refill again and again.

Great dinner specials. Perfect place for a diner-style family joint. Don’t expect too much because this place is all about the basics. Nothing fancy, they don’t go out of their way and the quality isn’t the best but that’s good enough for our family. Usually we get half chicken. They are super generous with portions. The garlic bread looks a little burnt but it’s still good. Vegetable soup is popular with our family but I liked the salad as well. Mondays it’s only $ 7.99. Water tasted good. Just enough ice.
