Good place for candy and food especially breakfast! Really good pancakes and big portions

Christie’s is a more a country store than a restaurant. The brunch menu is far from exceptional. An obligatory fly buzzes our table. The French toast is underwhelming and comes with optional blueberries(+$ 1.50) that are not even fresh. The buttermilk pancakes are nicely executed — the problem is the establishment serves the fake plastic high-fructose syrup which has as much maple in it as margarine has cream. The saving grace is you can buy a tiny bottle of real maple syrup for $ 9.00, which when asked, was discounted to $ 6.00 with our meals. Tap water is not served but can be gotten. My 2-star review is generous.

Where to even begin with this place!!! Our office in Greenwich has been ordering regular catering from this amazing restaurant and never once have we had a disappointing lunch. We order everything from cold sandwich platters with salads to Philly cheesesteaks and salads. We order for about 40 people and its not easy making everyone happy, but John from Christies always does. We always make sure our employees are happy with the catering and take their opinions seriously, but they never once said anything bad about Christies. They always ask when they’re coming back. Those Philly cheesesteaks are out of this world. They fly off the pans in matter of 5 minutes or less after set up and everyone always comes back for seconds. Creativity with the salads is outstanding. I have people asking me to make sure the Kale salad is coming with the order, it’s really that good. And now we have a new favorite as well, the butternut squash and quinoa salad is so so good! It has a great nutty taste without being too much. Everything is so fresh and really made for our order, not something that’s sitting around and then they send it out. We couldn’t be happier and will continue to order from him at least once a week going forward. One day we even had John come in the morning with a custom omelet station. Oh my gosh was that good! He had every imaginable topping available, all kinds of different cheeses and meats. Incredibly good and again very fresh and very clean omelet station. That is always my concern with any cater coming in… fresh food and cleanliness. They deliver that and much more. They set up very quickly and have 4 burners going at once, so the wait is minimal. I can’t wait to bring them back to our office for another omelet station treat. You can not go wrong with this place. We are a large finance office and have very high standard for the food that comes into our office, I never worry when I order from Christies. It always comes on time, fresh and very tasty.

Love this place, I moved to Ct a couple of years ago and discovered it driving around my new neighborhood. Price is nice, the food is good, but is the sense of community that is the best!

In a town starving for more breakfast places, this is a hidden gem. Excellent omelettes, pancakes, breakfast sandwiches… all fireside on a cold morning.

Since 1926. The real deal. During the week the doors open at 6 for breakfast. The conversation really flows for the guys camped out at the tables. The breakfast burrito isn’t exactly the Hungry Man Special, but the price is decent. It’s not about the food. It’s the camaraderie and sense of community.

Love this place! Super friendly staff and a great casual place to have lunch. My husband grew up riding his bike here and now we take our family here for lunch. Tucked away the beautiful residential area of Westport. Love the old fashioned candy and country store vibe.

This place really feels like home whenever I walk in, and I could really stay here for hours by the fire with great friends. The staff is always really great, and the food comes out very quickly, and is always great. It also has pretty good prices. Everything that I’ve had here is great, from their salads to chicken fingers, from breakfast foods to sandwiches. When the ice cream stand, Frosty Bear, opens in the summer, its also a great place to come and grab a soft serve cone. They also have pints of haagen daas and ice creams bars inside if soft serve isn’t your favorite. This has become my go to place to come with friends, as its a super quick walk from a few of their houses. No matter whether its celebrating the end of finals or coming in for a late breakfast after a late night in the city, Christies is a great place to go, and I will continue to come here regularly for as long as it stays open. So keep coming, so this well-kept secret can remain here forever.

This place is like home away from home… we were there for a late breakfast(1 pm), we sat by the fireplace, enjoyed a really delicious eggs and home fries and some hot chocolate. The owner is just the sweetest person who came to check on us and make sure we were comfortable(hard not to be). Seemed to know several patrons by name — felt like a place I could relax in for hours. Too bad its so far from my home… :(

Came here for breakfast/brunch with a couple of friends to catch up. The food was very good and very reasonably priced especially for the location. I had an omelette with spinach, sausage and cheese and also French toast. Everything was delicious. We ate outside and it felt like eating on my grandmother’s porch. I will definitely go back when I’m ever in the area.

A-OK. Stopped here for breakfast on our way up to Maine, and the reviews were glowing. Maybe a little too glowing… Nothing terrible about this place, but nothing remarkable either, making it any better than average. It seems like a big local spot for all the rich white middle-aged men who live in Westport. Those were the only type of clientele we saw during the time we stopped here for breakfast. I had a breakfast burrito, and my dude got the huevos rancheros. When I asked, to confirm, that they did not come with any sides, I was very clearly told they do not, as if he’d been asked that at least a dozen times already that day. Damn, bro, no problem. Burrito was good, but my dudes huevos rancheros looked kind of foul. My boyfriend said it was good, and I wasn’t arguing, but presentation is not their forte. Would probably rather find a diner on the way back to or from north than come back, sorry Christie!

Great food at Christies. … we were just about to close up a long weekend trip, and looking for a breakfast place to chow at. It’s about 1.5 miles from the main drag on town, but worth the short trip. Nice hot cakes here.

If you don’t know what you want for lunch, GOHERE! This place has such a good selection of sandwiches and salads, etc. that I needed a couple minutes to choose two and ask the opinion of the man behind the counter. Per his recommendation, I got the iron chef sandwich — WOW! It’s seriously awesome. I usually don’t order steak sandwiches because the steak is often chewy and«meh,» but this marinated steak is so much better than I expected. The men working there were all quite friendly, and the atmosphere is cozy — the place itself is very cute.

Tasty sandwiches! I got the marinated portobello with fresh mozzarella, roasted red peppers, and basil aioli. So yum! Hubby got a steak and cheese — also tasty. Dad and brother got breakfast burritos — tasty but not entirely impressive. Coffee is mediocre but I have high taste. Love love love the renovations the new owners did. Rustic and adorable. This place has a lot of potential!

2014 update: Daughter returned with her friend’s family recently and frosty bear was closed, but the staff opened it up for the kids. That is good customer service. Thanks for that. Have been here several times for lunch. Enjoyed the food. Loved sitting outside and eating on their patio. Friendly service. A little pricey for me, but that’s Westport average. So why not 4 or more stars? One unpleasant, recent experience. It’s a Sunday at 3pm. A little drizzle but nothing bad. Temp in mid 60’s. My daughter wants ice cream from Frosty Bear(which is their little ice cream stand). We hop in the car, drive there, and they have a sign by the road that says Frosty Bear is Open with two wind spinners to highlight that statement. We get out of the car, in the drizzle, approach the ice cream stand, that has a chalkboard announcing their hours as 12 pm to 6 pm on Sunday. An employee steps out of the stand and informs us that they are closed because«it’s raining» which I would say is an overly generous. I point out the signs that say they are open, and she says«I was just about to take that sign down.» Ok, I get that every business has the right to make their own policies, but this could have been handled better.

I always stop by here when I am passing through CT on business trips going to NJ. This place is about half way for me. I stumbled on it once when I got lost making my way from the highway to the Shake Shack, and I really enjoy this place more. Food is good, moderately priced and they have lots of variety. The old country store atmosphere is great. Nice place to relax and take a break when on a long drive. It does get busy around lunchtime, it can be hard to find a parking spot as the lot is small. Worth the effort though!

Out of the way little spot w a cozy fireplace & an old schools country store feel. A bit of chaos when ordering & in the open kitchen– it’s odd & a bit off putting. However, the food ended up being good(I was suspect). We had the Godmother sandwich on a hard roll w very tasty grilled chicken, tangy marinated artichokes & sauté spinach– didn’t taste the feta Yuzomiso vinaigrette though. Also had the crunchy melty delish large pinto bean & cheese quasadilla but I ordered it w chicken & didn’t get it. Also, they offer guacamole for $ 1.50– I got a literal tablespoon of it– that’s just lame! The menu is solid w sandwiches, salads, southwest inspired options, breakfast like pancakes & huevos rancheros. Service isn’t very friendly. Quaint dining area. Tv, clean. Other limited retail, chips, candy & coffee too.

Food was ok and inexpensive but staff a bit bewildered(asked for water… ‘like tap water?’ … ‘sure’… Enter two tiny flimsy cups of lukewarm water) and sort of stuck in corner and ignored. Maybe better for sandwiches and Gatorade on the go?

This is one of the(if not THE) best lunch spots in Westport. Everything is fresh, tasty, and well priced for the area. The speciality sandwiches(Godmother, Iron Chef) are all excellent. The chicken parm grinder is great. The salads are all fantastic. The only thing that underwhelmed me was the burrito. Something about the breaded chicken just wasn’t right. The setting is great. A rural 1929 country store with creaky floors gives it an authentic charm that’s lacking from most Westport eateries. Its isolation from the madness and traffic of Post Road makes it a great respite for the working class of Westport.
