Went for lunch before a show at the Westport Country Playhouse. Despite the fact that it was Father’s Day and the place was packed, everything was great. We enjoyed sitting on the outside deck; service was friendly and helpful. Food is tasty and fresh; portions very generous. I loved the Cobb salad, with really crispy bacon. My husband loved his lobster salad sandwich, with huge chunks of fresh lobster. Would definitely reco mmend and return.

The photos on Unilocal do not do this restaurant justice, the food is impeccable and the atmosphere is perfect. The bar area is so comfortable and the staff is attentive and friendly. I would 100% recommend this place to my friends and anyone who is visiting Westport.

Nice place. Has a rustic feel with wood planks everywhere. Service is quick and friendly. This was our first time here and it seems the staff knows the regulars well. It also seems that at least half of the patrons are regulars. I had the truffle burger, which was outstanding! My son had the pasta from the kids menu and it was big enough for two adults. The marinara sauce and sausage was a big hit, but even thought he was hungry, he could barely make a dent in the meal. My son wants to add that his meal was outstanding but very, very big and he gives it a 5 star.

I thought the place was ok. Service was not good. Food was decent atmosphere was ok. We had the flatbread with goat cheese and the lobster mac to start. Both were pretty good. We followed with a salad with grilled shrimp and the lobster rolls. The lobster rolls were pretty small and the roll was unimpressive. It had tarragon mixed in with the lobster which was ok. The salad was very good. I probably won’t be back here anytime soon but I wouldn’t want to steer anyone away. Just modulate your expectations to a good not great experience.

I had lunch here last Friday and was pleasantly surprised. Very friendly hostess & waitstaff, and verything we ordered was very good. Salads, seafood bisque, burger, soft shell crab. You really can’t go wrong here as the menu is pretty straight forward. I’m looking forward to returning & trying out some other items on the menu.

So good! Stopped in for a late lunch while passing through based on some reviews. Service was great as was the food. Inside was very noisy but we got seated outside in the covered patio area. This was pleasant despite the cold wind! Construction going on so will be interesting when the weather warms back up… Anyway, fish tacos and Asian chicken salad were delicious. Great portions and worth the price. The food was very fresh. Burger and fries also yummy — cooked to perfection. Given the town and great location the prices were about what I’d expect to pay. Would definitely recommend and would love to pop in again for a drink or two and experience dinner…

The Spotted Horse is my favorite restaurant in the area. I’ve never been disappointed here — I love the caprese chicken sandwich(my favorite), the lobster BLT, the truffle burger, and the cobb salad. Their drinks are good too — their version of a moscow mule with strawberries is delicious. The environment inside is nice, and they also offer some enclosed outdoor seating. Normally there’s not too long of a wait to be seated(they don’t take reservations). This place is great for many different things — I’ve come here to celebrate my birthday, on a first date, and also just for dinner on a weeknight. I would definitely recommend the Spotted Horse!

This is a great restaurant in this area. Start off with the place itself. It consists of a large dining room, a bar area and a beautiful patio out front. The patio in the front is protected from the elements. A couple TVs in the bar, which is always a plus for me when the Yankees are playing and I’m waiting for our table to be ready. As for the food. I’ve gotten quite a few things on the menu. My absolute favorite dish is the Pork Chop. It’s a substantial dish, and is one of the most flavorful pork dishes I’ve ever had the pleasure of eating. When I first saw the«dr. Pepper marinade», I didn’t know what the hell that was, but believe me it’s fantastic. Comes with a side of spinach which is phenomenal, and some sweet potatoes, which aren’t for me but seem good. I’d say my other favorite on the menu is the Arthur ave spring rolls. These are egg rolls stuffed with mozzarella and meatballs, with sprinkled Parmesan which you dip in a delicious marinara sauce. Never have seen these anywhere before, but they are great. Other menu items I like are the Cobb salad, the lobster BLT and the caprese sandwich. People I’ve gone with love the burger, however the one time I got it, I have to say it was a tad disappointing. Overall, this is a great spot and would absolutely suggest it over anywhere else in the area. Very reasonable pricing as well!

This place has the most baller calamari I have ever placed inside my mouth! [Que Louis to compliment me something else about my mouth] It’s a pain to come here on a Sunday when all the bougie people are out shopping on a sunny day and having brunch, but I think we got here around 2ish and just missed brunch and had a prime spot at the bar. Bartender was hella cool and friendly, the guy playing live music was good but it went on for too long. I would have preferred an hour of song and then just some acoustic strumming. But anyway back to the golden boy of the hour. THECALAMARI. It comes with three magnifico dipping sauces too. I would gladly travel the hour back here to eat its glorious sea bits again. No problem. Parking lots are around so its no biggy to find a spot. Cute town, cute place, spotless bathroom. Wanna go for calamari? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

I love the Spotted Horse. It has an urban barn feel to it with a fireplace. The best seats in the house are by the fireplace when the weather is colder. The service here is always great, the waitstaff here I’ve always found to be very friendly and on top of things. I usually go with the chicken sandwich(with MELTED mozzarella) with sweet potato fries. The sweet potato fries are some of the best I’ve had. The restaurant also has an outdoor patio for the warmer months, but alas it is on a random side street with construction going on at the moment, but is a great option otherwise. The restaurant seems to always get busy for lunch so go a little earlier unless you want to wait(although sitting in the bar area is always an option too, but like I said, sitting by the fireplace is where it’s at).

Always a great meal there w the family. Kids options are great — Mac and cheese and grilled cheese were w hit. I got the veggie burger for the first time and it was incredible. Freshly made w melted cheese and roasted red pepper. Delicious! My hubby got the fish tacos which were excellent. Live music on Sunday made the ambiance so great for a Sunday afternoon.

It’s going to be tough to tell you just how good this spot is. I can’t find one complaint. Food– we had the burrata and the mozzarella sticks special. The burrata melted in your mouth and the mozz sticks were so fresh and delicious. We then got the veggie burger and for a guy who’s never had beef I’ve had a lot of veggie burgers in my day. This one puts them to shame. It beats my former fave in NYC and it is so simply put together. The bun, the sauce, the roasted peppers are all good but the party itself is what makes it. Now let’s talk about dessert. I had one of the best lava cakes I’ve ever had and my girlfriend had a delicious salted caramel cheesecake. Food was an 11⁄10. Ambience– the interior is gorgeous and not trying too hard. Dining room and bar but the dining room stays quiet due to a strategically placed wall. Service– Bonnie was incredible, we’ll definitely ask to sit in her section again. Attentive and fun but even the other servers busers expo and host were friendly and conversationalists. The service really knocked this experience out of the park. Only small downside– if there was parking we didn’t find it. Parked on the street but it was limited.

Come hang on a Sunday Afternoon. Wait until the brunch crowd has cleared out, and you can people watch at the bar while you have terrific Bloody Mary at the bar. Food is good, the regular or the black truffle burgers are great but a little pricey. Parking can be a little bit around the corner, but if you know where it is, then you can plan that too. Would come back here too…

After moving from CT to NYC, many CT restaurants I used to love disappoint me with their overuse of salt and stale ingredients. Spotted Horse Tavern gives me faith that CT can still rock the food scene! This place is simply superb! Fresh ingredients, a perfect balance of healthy and savory choices, and conveniently located not too far from the Westport Train Station/Downtown Westport Shops. The maine lobster club with avocado is my go-to. Clumps of lobster salad are piled high in this sandwich. Spend the $ 1 extra for bacon too, it’s a game changer. Their salads are also HUGE with unique combinations. My favorite is the Kale & Avocado with cannellini beans, toasted pine nuts, and queso fresco spun in a lime-cilantro vinaigrette. Note: Monday’s this restaurant goes«meatless» and Sunday’s are the only time to get brunch! Why not 5 stars? Their desserts didn’t blow me away taste wise(seems like they were frozen for a long time) and were quite small in size and selection. Don’t let that stop you from going here as everything else is exquisite!

Best vege burger EVER … on a brioche roll with a humongous side salad. Bottomless cups of hot coffee and very attentive service. Fire burning in the fireplace, James Taylor on the stereo but the sound is so authentic he could be playing his guitar in the next room. It doesn’t get much better than this.

Out of this world. I told my husband, if he ever finds himself in the doghouse, a veggie burger from the Spotted Horse is his get out of jail free card! We started with the goat cheese pizzetta– combinations you would not usually expect put together perfectly! As you know, i had the veggie burger and it’s probably the best thing i have eaten in a long time, and i am NOT a vegetarian!!! I even took half home and reheated it for lunch the next day, which i never do!

Very pleased. With time to kill I used my Unilocal app to find a local lunch short of fast food and long on health and charm. I ordered the Chinese salad and it was perfect. Time spent well with a nice lunch. Bravo! Keep up the good work.

Just the right combination of restoration hardware décor and seriously delicious creative but not complicated food with impeccable service(by Juan B). Order a race track inspired cocktail because you’re sitting next to to legit stable stall doors and then indulge in a really great burger, delicious ahi tuna tacos or calamari that was kicked up bc of the three fabulous sauces served alongside. Good wine by the glass list too.
