Too bad zero stars is not an option. I brought my two daughters here for Valentine’s Day breakfast. Although it took a long time for them to take our order, we understood that they were understaffed and we had no problem with that. My 13 year old ordered pancakes, and after trying them, told the waitress that they were undercooked(they were visibly white on one side) and tasted like pancake batter. The waitress, who was very nice, brought them back into the kitchen and a good ten minutes later informed us that they were going to charge us double because they thought the pancakes weren’t undercooked. And, they had already thrown them out. Upon our request, the manager came out and had an obvious attitude. Rather than apologizing, she argued that the pancakes weren’t undercooked and tried to blame her own waitress, saying the waitress«wasn’t a cook» and that once she brought them back into the kitchen, by law they had to throw them out. After pressing my point, she finally relented, said«We’re not charging you double» and rudely walked away in the middle of our conversation. A good 20 minutes later, the replacement pancakes finally came out after everyone else had finished breakfast, leftovers were packed up and we were paying the check. Go to Chips, Town Line Diner or Mitchell’s where they know how to treat customers.

My family eats a ridiculous number of meals at diners. We recently tried Wethersfield Diner when the ones closer to us(in Rocky Hill) were full. The food was good, and priced right as you’d expect for Sunday brunch. The servers were friendly, attentive, and helpful. The only negative about this diner is that the service is SLOW. I would highly recommend this diner if you want a leisurely breakfast over coffee. Not so much if you are starving and want to eat quickly before a meeting or something.

New ownership, clean remodel is what you will find in this classic little diner with polish specialty dishes. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, you can start your day simple or like me start fancy and try some good old polish Benedict with bacon or kielbasa hash and smashed potatoes. Aside from all the breakfast basics, lunch continues to impress me. My favorites are the chicken salad sandwhich, stuffed cabbage(or its soup version which is to die for), and lastly the meatloaf with corn or steamed veggies. I come multiple times a week and it has always been consistent for me, there is plenty of parking. This Diner may be small but the specialty menu Is mighty.

I am very impressed. Polish kielbasa and hand made food in a classic diner car. Very cool. I feel like I went back in time to when quality food was normal unlike the corporate chain restaurants we have been forced to endure. This restaurant has charm and amazing food. The location is easy to find just off 91, south of Hartford. I’m making this my go-to restaurant when traveling to New Hampshire. I had a chance to talk with some of the regulars while sitting at the counter. They all had great things to say about the diner. They told me its a family owned and operated diner, and the staff makes you feel like your part of the family. I was looking for a classic late day breakfast loved it. Just wish I had room to have some of the specials.

Really quick service and food was great. There’s a great menu of typical diner food. I had the sausage and biscuits with eggs. It was made different than I’m used to but still really good. Very clean too.

We came up from the shoreline to visit family and stopped in to see the new and improved Wethersfield Diner. I grew up going there. We were very pleased with what we found. The diner looks amazing and it’s so clean! They have all the expected diner food, both breakfast and lunch offerings, and everything is made from scratch with fresh ingredients. They also have a wonderful specials board and a nice little selection of traditional Polish fare. It’s a terrific combination of tasty choices. My husband and father in law went for eggs and hash. Dad got the corned beef which was excellent. My husband got the kielbasa hash. I tried it and it was delicious! He loved it. I got stuffed French toast which was heaven on a plate. Thick bread with a strawberry, cream cheese stuffing. You can choose from several different fruits. Dad is a little picky about how he likes his eggs and he couldn’t be happier with what he got. The wait staff was friendly and very attentive. We also spoke with the owner for a few minutes. She’s done an amazing job of reviving an iconic location. Even though we live down on the coast, we all decided that we would make this a regular destination. It’s worth the trip!

I was pleased to see a new start at the old diner on the Silas Deane Highway. She’s renamed«The Wethersfield Diner.» Courageous start-up, the food«okay» pretty standard fare. The price was right about $ 10/person for a large breakfast. We were displeased to be rushed out while we were still finishing our meal when the servers began removing our plates in an obvious attempt to clear for the next set of patrons. Meanwhile other booths had been occupied longer than ours. I wish the proprietors well, but I would have to say their management needs some fine tuning.

We went this morning around 10am … We were not happy with the Wethersfield sampler breakfast… The potatoes were too garlicky, the pancakes were too rubbing just not good… No star…

So me and my girlfriend went to this establishment on one of their first weeks open. As I’m sure many of you will see throughout the comments here the big issue was management and all-around organization of the diner itself. The one thing that concerns me is most people don’t take into consideration that the first couple days weeks are usually in acclamation time for a new business, and these guys got the trial by fire. Beyond all that I will save the omelette and the waffles my girlfriend and I got were phenomenal. I would definitely go back I would say though that the location is a little smaller than it might appear but the food is great.

First we walk in and there was a wait which I understand if busy. So being patient after about an 20 minute wait the table offered to us was to close to the main entrance and very cold right under vent, so we let the next family get the table. Waiting another 30 minutes finally a table became available and we went to walk over there. The waitress chased us and said there’s people ahead of you. She was very rude about it ! I said no we have been there for an hour. Even other people in the restaurant had to tell her this. The table was sticky and was finally was wiped off after 10 minutes. Eventually we were offered coffee. Still waiting for our coffee the table after us was served first the coffee and our orders were mixed up. Finally we received our meals. My eggs were greasy and runny same. The omelette meal was runny and half uncooked. I found a piece of food in my drink and a small hair in my eggs. Finally after about 15 minutes or more server comes over to ask how was everything. I told her about eggs and everything on how it was not good and basically horrible! She said sorry and walked away, did not offer to remake the eggs or take off check. Came back, brought bill and said have a nice day?! When we went to go pay the cashier was horrible and very rude. I was trying to be friendly so i asked if she was one of the owners just trying to start conversation. She replied very loud and rude, «Nope I’m just the cashier!!» At that point I was so glad just to leave. This was the worst experience I have had in a long time. Basically this reopening of Wethersfield Diner is a shame!

Under new ownership/management, my husband and I were looking forward to having breakfast here. A fresh coat of paint inside and out, the stainless steel polished nice, menu small but adequate for breakfast. That’s the good part. Now for the not as good. Service was very slow, seemingly disorganized. it was at least 10 minutes before a waitress greeted us, and took our order. We ordered coffee along with our meal selections. Another 10 mins. no coffee. It was finally brought after we asked where it was. We were seated close to where the food was being brought out and saw several attractive plates come out, so I was looking forward to the veggie omelet I had ordered. I can barely describe my disappointment with what I was served. The omelet was visually unappealing, runny, barely warm. actually looked like someone had an accident on my plate.(that was the polite way of stating what I really saw) I did eat a few bites of it, which I can describe as again. barely warm, certainly not hot as if it has just come off the griddle and taste was so/so. I should have sent it back, but opted not to. My husband’s plate of eggs and homefries looked ok. he said they were fine. maybe it’s just the omelets that need help. I was very disappointed in my experience and may hesitate about going back.

I honestly wish I could give this place a zero stars. let’s start off with when I entered the building it seemed very nice and clean since they have just renovated however their menu seems very confusing and two high-end for the town that we live and there was no kids menu available but they can accommodate making a kids menu for us after ordering our food my food had came with french fries that were cold my daughter had received a hotdog that was burnt and the cook at least the burnt part of the hotdog underside of the bond so I was not noticed until eight and then got replaced with a hotdog that was not broke but had grease on it as if it sat on the griddle for two minutes there’s also an individual who works here that stands at the front podium and did not believe my daughter what she had went to her to say that her husband was burnt also what are food have came the Crayons they had given my children to draw with that same woman who came over to take the greens away and my children did not understand why since when we go to kid friendly restaurants the crayons able to stay on the table. The place in lasses has no atmosphere and the food is very mediocre. For Wethersfield Connecticut I’m not sure if this will last I will tell you that if the owners opened up as a regular diner with quick food that is comfort food they would make a fortune of having a menu that so expensive and confusing with fancy food will not last here. Avoid and proceed elsewhere.

Very good homestyle diner. The crew did an outstanding job at service and food prep considering this was their first weekend open and the place was packed. My only recommendation would be to include«egg beaters» as an option. They have egg whites but egg beaters taste better. Also I would have cut the veggies into smaller pieces in the omelettes. If you are local I would recommend the Wethersfield diner, but it is nothing that special that I would travel for it.

We are glad to have the diner in town open under new management/ownership! Sometimes new restaurants have to work through some opening bumps. Not The Wethersfield Diner! We stopped in for breakfast this morning on day 5 of their soft opening and we plan to head back often. The prices are reasonable, the coffee was great, and the food was fresh, ample, and delicious! I had an egg white omelette with fresh spinach… yummy. Paul had the Mountain Breakfast that was piled high with eggs, pancakes, bacon and potatoes… oh my. He ate the entire HUGE plate! Along with the outstanding breakfast options, the staff here is happy and friendly making for a perfect way to start a beautiful day.

Classic simple diner. Don’t expect and frills here, it’s just food and coffee. It has a strong Greek heritage, so if you’re interested in Gyros or other cultural treats this may be the place for you. PRO: Huge fan of the Triple Decker Turkey Club Diner area is very retro CON: Service can be slow on occasion based on how busy they are Non diner portion of the restaurant is dated and grungy

If you’re looking for an old fashioned town diner, this is the place. We had a Sunday breakfast there today and the food and service was top rate. Not much to look at from the outside but very neat and clean inside.

My friend and I were in Hartford for a concert this past weekend and wanted some breakfast Saturday morning. We were trying to find something in Hartford and ended up in Wethersfield. We just happened upon this diner and chowed down. I had 2 eggs over medium, kielbasa, wheat toast and home fries. It was great. Cheap too. If for some reason I am ever in that area, I’ll eat there again for sure.

Bustling local diner with all the standards. Quick and competent servers. only wee complaint is that they have no fresh fruit, just the syrupy frozen stuff. Big fan of fresh fruit mixed over a big plate of waffles, and sorely missed it with my order.

Stopped here tonight for a quick dinner this evening on the way home from a dr’s appt. It was clean and comfortable, food was not bad. Will offer more of a detailed review once i can order breffie from them I judge diners once I try my fave omelet(ham cheddar and onion), a grilled English muffin and home fries. Will probably go in the next few days to try breffie. They do breffie all day(which i LOVE), but tonight, I did not feel like it(I know, so unusual for me! LOL) … Unfortunately… the Chicken Cordon Blue caught my eye… I was psyched, its my fave dinner… but it was not the rolled/stuffed and fried concoction i was anticipating… It was a floured flat breast sauteed(and served in a lake of buttery/winey, grease/sauce) a slice of deli ham with a slice of swiss cheese was melted on the top. Not bad tasting, but not what i was anticipating. In retrospect, i should have had breffie or one of their Greek specialties that was on the menu… I got mashed potatoes on theside, they were decent. The hunny had their Prime RIb and sd it was pretty decent. It was swimming in some sauce too, but it was an ‘au jus’ type sauce… He also had mashed potatoes and we both chose the soup(instead of salad) as our 1st course that came with it. His also came with a dessert(pudding). for 10.95, that was pretty decent! My meal was 13.95. I think with tax it came to 25 so was very reasonable, and the waitress and the owner could not have been nicer. We will definitely be returning to try some additional items. DO not let the look of the place from the outside keep you from going in. We have both been by this place a thousand times and never gave it a chance because it did not look so welcoming from the outside. The décor inside is definitely circa 1980s, BUT its clean. And that to me is the most important thing. ALSO, the bathroom was very clean, which says a lot.
