Prior to moving to Cape Cod we lived in Western MA for ten year and never found the time to stop at this used and antiquarian book store. After stopping here this weekend I am dissapointed with the fact that we never stopped here before. This book store located on Route 5⁄10 is huge and it has an incredible selection of books. We came in search of children’s books for an upcoming baby shower and found a ton of items. The range of genres in their selection though is huge. We ended up walking out with a pile of books for under $ 20. The only tip I have is that you should attempt to barter a little. The majority of the books here are consignment sales and they want to get their products out yesterday! In the end, we loved this store and we will totally stop here again in the future.

Great used and antiquarian book store! I have visited this place a number of times over the last couple of years and now I find it fit to write a small, favorable review. There is a wide assortment of books and old periodicals, as well as old postcards. The books tend to be reasonably priced, with a few bookcases full of discount books for one or two dollars(and many of these are antiquarian as well, but might not be in as good condition, etc.). Its a great place to spend a weekend afternoon, though the building is quite cramped due to the large inventory. I know time to time the store holds a book sale where they charge one dollar or so for each book in the back barn area – many great deals I have found here! Its worth the look for sure.

I’ve been traveling up to this area for a number of years now to visit my dad and I’ve seen the«Books and More Books» sign on I-91 more times than I can count. I finally visited for the first time today, and I’m kicking myself that I didn’t get there sooner. As it says on their little flier, it’s a «browser’s delight.» This is true. You won’t walk in here and find what you want immediately — it’s going to take a little hunting. Sections are split between three floors, you will find fiction on each one as well as a number of others. As someone who adores going into used bookstores to hunt for what I want or something unexpected, this did not bother me in the slightest. There are $ 1, $ 3 and $ 5 dollar sections, something I appreciated given I’ve gotten used to the rock-bottom prices of library sales.(I say this sheepishly, knowing I need to be supporting places like this.) At least 50% of the stock is very old — think leather bound — something I’d be more interested in if I had more money and more space. There is one room that has a section for ‘old’ fiction — all hardcover, tattered but in protected plastic, it made me smile. A 1938 copy of Wuthering Heights with a campy cover had me sorely tempted. As I browsed, I couldn’t believe I had passed up the opportunity to go there again and again. The woman who rang up my purchase struck up an easy conversation about one of the authors in my stack. Enjoyed hearing her input, but also it was just nice to «compare notes» with another avid reader. Don’t miss it, whether you’re a local or in the area for a visit.

Holy crap. LOVETHISPLACE! The amount of old books you’ll find here is incredible, and they do a good job at dehumidifying so you don’t come home with the nauseating smell of rotten paper and moldy bindings. I was able to score some amazing first edition Dorothy Parker books for a friend at $ 7-$ 15 a pop, plus tons of books from the dollar bin that I’m using for art projects. Expect to dig for what you’re looking for, but you’ll spend all day finding treasures.
