If you are looking for something new age or if Eastern Spirituality origin, this is a great place to start. They have an extensive collection of stones, all with great descriptions of each on the container. They also have a great printed list of even more stones they’ve made up and printed out. If they don’t have it, they will sometimes offer to order it for you, which is amazing. They have a lot of smudge sticks, meditation items such as labyrinths, singing bowls, and those colorful meditation pillows. Lots of statues from Buddha and Ganesh, to some I’ve never even heard of. They have a nice selection of books as well. Overall, I enjoyed this place, and have gotten lost in it with the calming music and comforting insence. It’s reasonably priced in my opinion as I like instant gratification instead of saving a buck or two buying it online.

Living in the Chicago area, it’s surprisingly hard to find new age/spiritual/metaphysical shops around. I had gotten a recommendation of this place after the metaphysical store near me closed down over a year ago. I have been to Quest a few times now, but I finally managed to remember to write a review for them! The shop is fairly sized with books on just about every subject that deals with Religion, spiritual, metaphysical, Native American, Egyptian, Buddha, Chakras, Meditation, Angels and lots lots more! They have an area in the back where you can sit on a couch and read a book if you’re deciding on whether or not to buy it. I spent a good twenty minutes or so flipping through a few books and I ended up buying one, I am glad I didn’t feel rushed to read and make a choice! Not only do they carry a wide assortment of books, but they carry soaps, sprays, roll ons and other natural products like that. Their crystal and stone assortment is massive! I ended up purchasing a good 15 stones or so and the size of the other stones they carry range from small to huge. I saw a huge amethyst crystal about the size of my head, I believe it was around $ 200. I wish I could buy it, but anyway, they also carry tarot and angel an esoteric cards and more card assortments. Their candle and incense assortment is also pretty big. They carry different branded and packaged incenses as well as different types of candles for whatever your need may be. I ended buying a candle, as well as natural soaps on sale, a book and many crystals/stones. The gentleman at the counter did an amazing job of answering the many questions I had and he knew a lot about many of the subjects/topics the store carries. I felt like I could ask him anything. Anyway though my visit was awesome, a slow day during the week is best to visit so you can take your time browsing, especially if you’re like me and don’t like people poking into your business and hate being rushed. Since I live kind of far, I always make each visit a special one. I’ve also had my aura read here and got a 20 page personal report about me and my aura. Ask about that as well as the other reading that they do weekly. I am a customer for life!

Admittedly, I haven’t been in for awhile. But I LOVE this place! They have everything! And a great selection of items by/about Paramahansa Yogananda. A great atmosphere, great customer service-just a bit of a challenge to find-but well worth it!

Quest Bookshop is an excellent resource. The selection of books is wonderful for anyone who has an interest in learning about a wide variety of spiritual matters. The staffers are a knowledgeable and friendly. They have a large selection of stones, etc., but I’m not a New Ager and can’t comment on that aspect of the store. The place is a bright spot for the spiritually curious!

I’ve frequented Quest numerous times in my life. They have a good selection of items i’m in the market to buy, but I don’t even need anything hard to find. They have their own parking lot and the store is easy to find. I find that they are a bit expensive and they can do that because not a lot of competition around.

My winding path of spirituality began when I walked into the doors of this amazing shop. After a long battle with giving up Christianity, I knew there was yet another path that I needed to explore. Everything came together while exploring and perusing the books in this shop. Here you can find everything from transcendental meditation and Eastern religions to earth-based Paganism and Magick and everything in between. Not only religions, but also books full of mythology and history. I could spend a fortune on these books, but I was not scolded or hurried to leave when I found myself enraptured in a book of Wiccan rites and beliefs. The statuary and figurines along the walls are beautiful. Pan, Anubis, Quan Lin, Zeus, Odin, laughing Buddha, Vishnu; just to name a few. If you are looking for a particular Deity, you will be sure to find it here. I came across plenty of candles made during different lunar phases and made of soy and beeswax, incense of many variates, and essential oils. Also shamanic drums, relaxation Cd’s, and even scrying bowls. I came in to find and purchase my new Book of Shadows, but I came out with a new perspective on my spirit and then some. This was on my first visit. I cannot see into the future, but I know this place will become a resource of the rest of my journey.

I went into this store expecting to find all i needed such as oils and incense and I was very disappointed. The saving grace of this place was the dragons blood extract that I found and the array of books and music they had. I am very interested in different cultures so finding music and books on everything from Buddhism to native American spiritualism was awesome.

The staff here is knowledgeable, extremely friendly, and helpful. What you get here is the beauty and nostalgia of an independent bookstore with the outstanding service only a local business can offer. It is truly a hidden gem in Wheaton. Their book selection is impressively thought-out. Their gift options are unique and tasteful. The ambiance is serene and lovely. What a sensory experience — the faint scent of incense and tea, the soothing sounds in the background, the feel of a hardcover book in your hands, and your curiosity awakened from all the knowledge & wisdom contained in these books. This is not your run-of-the-mill book shop. It is the sort of place you will remember fondly whether you cherish it alone or share it with someone special. It also feels great to support an independent business. If you sign up for their e-newsletter or follow them on fb/twitter, you will also get special offers! Definitely worth many visits.

A perfect place for anyone on a spiritual«quest»! This store has books for all subjects, they may be a part of the Theosophical Society but they offer books & materials pertaining to various eastern religions, western religions, mythology, history, new age and pagan — there is a great deal of variety. They have the standard: candles, incense, crystals, cds but also carry Tibetan bronze bowls, figurines, artwork and other unique items. I’ve purchased a nice sized Himalayan Rock Salt Lamp and love it. I noticed on my last visit they increased their jewelry section, I’m not sure if they’re done by local artists or not but their selection is really top notch — its not your common cheap jewelry that you sometimes see at similar stores. Very gentle and quiet atmosphere, definitely will return.

I’m not surprised that I’m the first to review Quest. You probably wouldn’t know it unless you were looking for it. Quest is located off of Geneva Road in Wheaton on the grounds of the Theosophical Society. It has a great selection of new age books, crystals, candles, incense, and other related items. They have a very impressive selection of sage as well. Quest is very laid back with several chairs for reading and tea to sample. You are encouraged to spend time browsing and no one will bother you. Often there is someone on site offering readings for a reasonable fee. Overall, Quest is probably one of the better New Age stores in Chicagoland, due to the wide selection, reasonable prices, and calming atmosphere.
