Got individual eyelashes put on for the first time ever. Was nervous and not sure how it was going to look. Lexi did a fantastic job and made them look gorgeous :) the girls up front are very nice also!

I have had a few facials at this spa and each one has been fantastic! I receive personalized attention from the staff as well as follow up phone calls to make sure the products I purchased were working well for me. I found all of these ladies to be very accommodating as well as knowledgeable and if they didn’t know the answer they found it out for me. From the outside, the spa does not look like it would be such a pleasant retreat(seeing that it is in a busy strip mall) but once inside by the treatment rooms it is wonderfully serene and relaxing. I have had not had any services other than facials but would highly recommend this spa to anyone for excellent service and skin care lines.

I absolutely love Sanctuary Day Spa! My first visit here was years ago as a referral from one of the baseball wives. I knew if she liked it, it was worth checking out. I recently started going back even though I moved a few cities over and its everything I remember. I joined the Club Spa package for a few reasons. Since my boyfriend is a ballplayer as well, I got him a massage for his birthday and while we were there I learned I could save practically half the money if I did the club spa package, so I enrolled and made him my «friend» on my pass. The first of each month I am billed $ 59 and since we are both very busy people there was a few months we didn’t use it but it rolled over so right now I have 4 massages on my account to use. I go for the facials — and I always see either Joi or Lexy — and it’s just a $ 20 upcharge to compensate for the difference of the massage to the facial. Everytime I leave a facial appointment I am so happy with the results. I have awful skin and have worked ot make sure to it looks better but between running a dog rescue, working full time and having a part time freelance job I often don’t make time for myself. I would recommend this spa to anyone interested in being pampered for a reasonable price and also enjoying having some good time for your self :)

I received a gift certificate here and couldn’t wait to use it. The spa is clean and decorated nicely. After you get changed they have you soak your feet in a quiet room and the they even brought me a hot cup of lemon and honey water to help with my cold. At this point I was very excited because everything was setup for a very enjoyable experience. Emily was my masseuse and was very nice and friendly. However I couldn’t get to the point I fully relaxed and was able to enjoy myself. I’ve had several massages in my life but never experienced a massage where the masseuse wore plastic gloves. I guess I can understand why they wear them but it makes for a very sterile experiences. Plus the music was on very low and all I could hear was the plastic gloves crunching. I think it would have been a totally different experience had she not worn them. Lesson learned is ask upfront about plastic gloves. Originally I gave this review 2 stars but waking up today(my massage was yesterday) my back and neck are so sore from my massage. I noticed in a few other reviews they stated the masseuse was very rough and i would have to agree since I asked for a relaxing experience with medium pressure

I’ve had hair and nail services done here and both outstanding. Morgan has been doing my hair for a few years now and I’ve finally found a stylist that is creative, listens to what I want, and able to follow through. So glad I found you!

My mom and I both got deep tissue massages last week and we both really enjoyed our experiences. We both had excellent women give us massages and the environment was really relaxing. The woman that gave me a massage was very talented and was able to really dig deep into my muscles. Unfortunately, I don’t remember her name, but I know that at least two of the women were great.

I’ve been going to this spa regularly for over a year now and I love it. It is always easy to make an appointment(Jeanne is awesome) and a treat to go to them. Lexi gives wonderful facials, waxes, and flawless makeup applications. Morgan does fantastic hair(she used to style all the big fashion shows in NYC)! Shannon and Dana give the best nail services– you can’t go wrong with anyone there. The best part is their prices are competitive compared to some of the chain spas plus you get a higher level of customer service at Sanctuary.

My mom is a big fan of spa treatments, so I decided to get her a Swedish massage and signature facial from the Sanctuary. She was incredibly unhappy with both, so much so that I felt bad for even giving her a gift without having tried out the place myself first(it seemed to have decent reviews, so I thought it was safe). Boy, was I wrong. I am writing this review from her words, so I may not know all the details, but here goes: The massage was done by an Asian lady(I don’t know her name). My mom specified that she was feeling pain in her upper arm, but the lady must’ve forgotten that because she tried to move my mom’s arm forcefully at some point during the massage, which caused a lot of pain. The massage was also too rough for a Swedish, yet not very relaxing. The facial was almost as bad. My mom asked the therapist not to use scrubs because her skin is very sensitive, but the request was ignored. She also asked not to use any products containing cucumber because she is allergic, and that request also got ignored. For a place that charges as much as Sanctuary does(this is close to what I would pay at a high-end hotel spa), you’d think that therapists would pay a little more attention to what their clients want, but this is not the case. Also, the therapist massaged my mom’s head after the facial *without taking off her greasy gloves.* This is unacceptable and, quite frankly, idiotic, because my mom had just had her hair done the day before. Afterwards, she needed to wash and restyle it. Other random things my mom mentioned: one of the blanked used on her during the facial was so old it had a hole in it, and the water she was soaking her feet in when she was in the relaxation room got cold because she had to wait so long, and no one bothered to change it. Neither of these things should ever be a problem in any spa, much less one that charges this much for their services. I would never recommend anyone to try this spa. Even if my mom just happened upon two under-qualified therapists, the ambiance of the spa was not worth the price tag. At the end, she was asked if she had a wonderful experience, so which she replied that she most certainly had not. They did not bother asking her to elaborate. That alone speaks volumes about how much these people care about improving their services.

I live in Wheaton and I regulary go to The Sanctuary for pedicures with Dana. I’ve never had another service there, but I’m delighted that I am able to get Sunday afternoon appointments for a pedicure. I like Dana; she is friendly, but not overly talkative, and I’m always very happy with the way my feet are treated. I certainly would try other services; just haven’t gotten around to it it.

The staff was pleasant and attentive. I had a groupon to use and it was for message and facial. Emily did a nice job, but for a Swedish message I felt it a bit rough at times. My facial was pleasant but with the towels, heated hand mitts and a heated bed, I was a bit uncomfortably warm. The reason I gave this review a 3 is because the spa, while tastefully decorated and captured a zen like feel, had no shower facility or steam room. I have had a few messages in the past, each place had this available, and I loved it! Not only is a nice way to regroup and unwind before heading out into the real world, but just getting off the lotions and oils that are clinging to my skin. I hate to put on my clean clothes for fear it is leaving some residue on my clothes.

I really thought I had reviewed Sanctuary before because I’m there so much but I guess not. Anyway, this is a pretty little day spa in the Danada strip mall. I’ve had facials, massages, and a blow out here. Tip: Sign up for their email list to take advantage of the various monthly deals. Sometimes it’s 10% off styling products, sometimes it’s facial, pedicure and blow dry for $ 140. You get the idea. They also email with one day specials when there are openings in the schedule. Sanctuary has a separate, walled off area in the back of the space for the spa, apart from the salon. This is really nice because it blocks out the noise of the salon and creates the spa-like atmosphere you expect for the $ 100+ price tag. The«relaxation room» is tastefully decorated, and each guest gets to soak their feet and sip tea or water or coffee by candlelight until it’s their turn. I have yet to encounter chatty obnoxious people in this room, which is an added bonus. The individual treatment rooms are your basic spa rooms but definitely clean and soothing so no complaints. Sanctuary has a new massage therapist, Emily, so they’re running a special: $ 50 for any 60 minute massage with her. I HIGHLYRECOMMENDTHIS. I took advantage of this deal and was very impressed. Emily took the time to speak to me about my needs and tailor my massage to my various issues. Some therapists mechanically run through a scripted full body massage but I really felt that Emily spent longer on my problem areas and less time where it wasn’t as badly needed. She also talked to me about what I can do to prevent future issues. I HATE when my therapist chats with me during what’s supposed to be a relaxing massage, but Emily communicated just enough to educate me and make sure I was happy without ruining the peace and quiet. The signature facials here are great. I made a point to schedule them regularly before my wedding last year and saw wonderful results. I tend to prefer facials over massages because they relax me just as much but with longer-lasting effects. However, I like both treatments at Sanctuary and schedule whichever is «on sale». I paid for a special deal that included a blow dry once. My stylist was just okay… she seemed relatively inexperienced and didn’t offer any suggestions or do anything I can’t do myself. I’ll skip that in the future and try a pedicure or whatever other option is available.

I went there to get permanent eye lash extensions and they turned out wonderful! Though the process was long(which I already knew), Megan was great and my lashes looked fantastic afterwards. She explained to me exactly what she was going to do and recommended the best eye lash lengths and thicknesses for me. My lashes looked natural yet I got a lot of compliments. The best part was that I was able to go out without eyeliner and mascara afterwards!(And I’m the type that feels naked without them.) The environment is clean, professional, and relaxed. Overall a great experience.

OK. This is going to be a four part-er because I used 4 of their services for my wedding weekend. Nails: 5 Stars. The day before the wedding my mom treated my bridal party to manicures and pedicures. We brought in lunch and pretty much had the cute little salon all to ourselves. My nails are difficult to work with. I have psoriasis so I have to keep my nails very short. They hurt most of the time, so I’m weary of having some poking around them. But it was my wedding day and they needed to look nice, so I sucked it up. This was the only time a manicure/pedicure didn’t leave me aching for days afterward, and the ladies were so kind and understanding about it, which was a relief since it’s such an embarrassment to me. The pedicure chairs were comfy and we enjoyed our relaxing time there. Chair Massage 3.5 stars: This wasn’t a full massage. I was waiting for a few of my bridesmaids to have their nails done, and they offered me a complimentary chair massage while I waited. It felt good, but the woman kept saying that she couldn’t believe how tense I was. She must have commented on this about 5 times over the course of the 15 minute massage. Hey Sherlock, I’m getting married and hosting a party for 200 people tomorrow that I’ve been planning for a year. Of course I’m tense. That’s why I’m sitting on this awkward chair in the front of the salon in front of people I don’t know. Please just get on with it. Makeup: 4.5 stars. I went the month before and had a trial. That went well. My makeup on the day of the wedding held up through the day, and I thought it looked pretty though it was a little caked on. In hindsight, I don’t really feel that it was as fresh or natural looking as I would have liked, but I wear very little makeup on a day-to-day basis, so I may just not have been used to it. They also managed to cover up some psoriasis patches I have on my arms, and you can’t even see them in the pictures. My bridesmaids also got their makeup done, and they all looked beautiful. My friend ended up buying the foundation that they used on her because she loved it so much. Hair: 3 stars. I went the month before for a trial as well and that was ok, but my hair on the day of the wedding was different than the trial. It was a little off center in the back, which wasn’t a big deal when I had my veil on, but it was noticeable at the reception. Also, the style didn’t hold. Pictures taken from my right side look horrible because the pieces of hair didn’t stay in place. By the end of the night I had pieces falling out everywhere. It did not stand up to the amount of dancing we did. My bridesmaids also got their hair done. My MOH wore her hair down, so they just blew it out and straightened it, which looked very pretty. The other girls’ hair was pretty as well. One of my friends was happy because salons always try to curl her sideburns into tendrils and she hates that. Sanctuary listened to her and pinned her hair up in loose curls. It looked pretty. But honestly, I was the bride, and my hair looked the worst. It was a bummer. We were a party of 5 women and we probably spent close to $ 1200 there in 24 hours. I thought it was strange that they couldn’t even throw in our lipsticks or anything. I’ve stood up in weddings and paid much less for hair and makeup, and they always include lipstick for touchups and things like that. There was none of that at Sanctuary, which was disappointing. I couldn’t decide between 3 or 4 stars. Thinking about it, they didn’t really do anything to go above and beyond, so I’m going with 3 overall. Go for the nails and the makeup. Skip the massage and the hair.
