Hurray, New York style pizza with by-the-slice options you don’t find many places in MT! Try the garlic knots… trust me. So worth it.

Disappointed. Being from New York I was excited to try this New York style pizza only my two slices of cheese were tough and dried out. It definitely was sitting too long and we should’ve gone with our gut and ordered a new whole pie. Better luck next time. Our Greek salad was yummy however!

Oh how I miss second street! So freaking goooooood! I’m sitting here in Texas wishing I could get some pasta bene, a huge slice of pie or any of there amazing sandwiches. They have such a great variety of options including Chicago dogs and sliders. Family run and a kick butt staff who genuinely love their job and each other! I wish I could ship some pasta bene here right now! Always my first stop when I come back to Montana!

Visited Whitefish on a Sunday afternoon in October after a glorious visit to Glacier National Park. I was very hungry and lots of places were closed. Thankfully Second Street was open. I got a delicious slice of thin crust cheese pizza for only $ 2. Large slice, great value. I also enjoyed people watching, seemed like a lot of locals dropped in and the owner greeted them all by name. They have a large menu and homey atmosphere.

Best pizza in town. Not a bad thing on the menu. I like that you can stop in for just one slice of pizza.

It was pretty good. I got 2 pieces of Italian stromboli, but it had olives and peppers in it. Coming from the East coast, those things don’t belong in stromboli. The garlics knots are great. The atmosphere is nice, but in the middle of the day it was very dark inside.

So this is less of an ‘updated review’ and more of a lecture to whoever is willing to listen. Most likely that one lone business traveler I end up sitting next to on flights. You know who you are. First, I do not see nearly enough garlic knots being sold while I wait. What are they? When made fresh, they are the essence of clouds captured by the line cooks. How? Only they know. Then tossed in light oil, sprinkled with flour and then tossed with garlic and herbs to be baked. When fresh from the oven and eaten or pulled apart they are soft, fluffy and full of flavor. The reheated ones that have been sitting around for hours are like a cold rainy day. Dense, soggy, and a little runny. Secondly, in order to support your fellow Unilocalers and patrons. Be sure to request an order of «Knots». Five per order. This ensures they are always fresh. Thirdly, this is directed to the owner and staff. An ‘order of Knots’ should be six. How you arrived at five is a mathematical mystery better left to greater minds. So for those that may need a little more encouragement. Here is how to put in an oder: 1. Take a deep breath before walking in. 2. Then move through the door and past the register to the pizza display case. 3. When staff acknowledges you — this is the key… «I’ll have a slice with an order of knots and a PBR» Replace PBR with your choice of drink. 4. Remain confident. If the staff seems confused or follows it up with any sort of questions, this is their inexperience speaking. They can be forgiven. After you place your order there should be little more than a nod of acknowledgement. 5. Pay and find a place to sit. 6. Goodness is on its way. Take joy in knowing that the line cooks are one order of knots closer to having to make up a new batch. Keep’em fresh, keep’em hot. Eat your knots. P. S. I am hoping that native Montanans will understand and the owners and staff will give me a pass. Had one pizza owner go all pushbutton panic on me in the Midwest when I gave my dog a bit of pizza. Knots in general make an excellent dog treat when you get home. Life is good when everyone is happy.

I live in Chicago and tried the Chicago deep dish he is putting-out– on-point with crust and sauce. Sausage is plentiful but could be a little spicier. Impressive job! Also tried the Sicilian-awesome!!! Enough for 4 – 5 people– Dave, we need a half-size. Everyone who works there is warm and polite. Nice house salad and the house Italian dressing is so good, I could drink it!

Best pizza and pasta in the Valley! Great variety and high-quality ingredients. The only place to eat that’s open late in Whitefish.

Easily the best and most authentic pizza in Whitefish. Though I still miss the Cuban/PR food(fantastic), the pizza is the best around.

Love second street! A weekly addiction. Love everything, especially the spinach salad! Slices are awesome. Pies are awesome. Cheap beer! Who could ask for anything more? Right, great music and tiramisu.

Super good sauce and toppings! I found the crust a bit thick for me but still real good. The pizza being excellent is not news to locals and tourists which causes for a longer than normal delivery time.

The guy who owns this place is verbally abusive. He was incredibly standoffish when I tried to use my credit card and he chewed my roommate out about asking for a box. The stories of his unfriendliness are common in Whitefish. He is an angry person and does not represent our town in a positive way. I hope this dude finds happiness but for now find another pizza joint. It’s really not that good anyway. Try Jersey Boys or Mackenzie River.

Great place! We chose this pizza place over the others because of the variety of the menu. Someone said buying a whole pizza is expensive. Not compared to what we pay in Minnesota and the 2nd St. pizzas are HUGE! We ordered 2 for a family of 5 and could only finish one. Plus they were giving away a full order of wings($ 6 value) with each full pizza. This ended up being the best value for a meal in our entire week in Montana. The pizza was good. The kids really liked the pizza with sliced meatballs on it. We would definitely go back next time we’re in town. Be aware that the seating area is fairly small. If you go when they are busy be prepared to wait.

I really love this place. The pies are great. It’s been hard this last year with all of the construction happening right in front. My wife cleans houses for a living and now I have to talk her into going there. My recommendation for my good friend Dave would be to shut down and clean and clean and maybe paint; costly yes, but the city is ‘sprucing’ up the street, follow their lead. That said the«pies» are the best in town 5*****‘s, slices are NYC large and reasonably priced, Calzones are great, Stromboli is fantastic & the«Garlic Knots» again great. 3pm-5pm $ 1.50PBR’s! Dave you have great pizza, trudat bro!

By far in the top two pizza places in the Flathead Valley. Pizza by the slice is awesome, and in Summer, the homemade cheese cake with fresh local huckleberry sauce is incredible. Fresh tossed dough, thin NY style pies, they usually have a reasonable beer on tap(PBR) and some other Micro brews as well. It’s pretty evident that ingredients are fresh. Staff is pleasant, restrooms clean, kitchen clean. These guys support the community.

Greek pizza was great, and even better the next day cold, if you like pizza for breakfast!!! But the all time Best pizza is the Stumptown Supreme ! So many toppings and so many flavors! Just a burst of tastiness, and the sausage wins the battle – it’s yummy! Pricey, but with quality like this, it’s soooooo worth it! Get it!

Great east coast pizza. By the slice or a whole pie. Be warned though, full pizzas can get pricey here. The pasta is great too. Oddly, the fettucine alfredo was a runny sauce… but good flavor. Only place we really go in town for pizza.
