Just got my hair cut and colored by Marissa. I have to say she is pretty awesome. Beautiful, talented, friendly and patient. Can’t wait to see what she does to my hair next visit. Everyone there is very friendly and make you feel like you’ve been going there for years. Definitely a keeper of a place.

I had the pleasure of meeting Hannah Lee and getting my hair done by her. I found her through Instagram after seeing her amazing work. She was so welcoming and inviting and honestly the sweetest person I have ever met. I explained to her what I was looking for and how I was nervous about going lighter and all my concerns. She listened and told me what I could do. She made me look so different. I couldn’t be any happier with my look. She made me feel like a million bucks. My boyfriend loves it and I love it. Thank you Hannah! I will be back. I don’t see myself going with anyone else for my hair.

I came in twice and both times my hair was done by Marissa, she was very nice and I got exactly what I asked for.
1^st time– she blended my ombré I had done somewhere else and it literally took 30 minutes, she was super fast.
2^nd time– she trimmed my hair and gave me fuller bangs.

I nearly spent $ 220 for color and treatment. My hair looked great the first and second day. I washed it the third day the color came off and it was completely washed off. So much money spent for nothing!

My friend and I came in this week to get new mommy makeovers. JoAnn was our stylist and she did an amazing job! She has an awesome personality and is very welcoming!
Ok, so I wanted a nice solid chocolate brown color to my hair but have been so nervous to dye it since I have been growing it out for years! So my hair had no color in it. I was afraid that I would have an orange tint to my hair if i did dye it but she explained the process and explained the route we would go to so that I didn’t. The result was exactly what she said it would be. Girl knows her stuff! lol Im very happy w the outcome!!! Then came the cuts…
We both had hair down to our mid-​back and were a little nervous since we both wanted to go pretty short. We showed her pictures of the length we wanted and she got straight to work! She washed, cut, and styled our hair. She had different techniques for each of our hair since we both had very different textures. Very pleased w that! We both walked out feeling refreshed and beautiful!
So, after everything, I’d def. recommend coming to Berlin and JoAnn for your hair needs! Thank you so much JoAnn for giving our hair life again!!!

I had a great experience with Berlin salon.
One of my nearest and dearest friends was getting married, and I had bought the perfect dress for the special day. I have never been good at doing my makeup. I have taken classes, watched all the YouTube tutorials and had friends try and teach me techniques, but still, I could never get it right. I hardly ever wear makeup and if I do, I keep it as minimal as possible, mascara and lipstick. So, I decided since it was such a special event, I needed to have my makeup done.
I searched all the local salons on Unilocal and came across Berlin Salon. I had seen the salon in passing while in Uptown Whittier. And the reviews it received were generally positive. I scrolled through the pictures to learn as much as I could about the MUA’S available. I came across JoAnn Rubio’s reviews and made a decision to book her.
First, booking an appointment was quick and easy. I am a night owl by nature and most of my free time happens to be around the hours after 10pm. Needless to say, the salon wasn’t open at that time. However, I was able to book my appointment online. That made things so convenient. About two days later, I called to confirm and things were set.
I arrived on time for my appointment and was greeted by JoAnn. She was very friendly and made me feel comfortable. She offered me something to drink and began to set up her tools. I told her I wanted something a little 50’s style. I have always been a big fan of the Cat-​eye look and wanted to emphasize my brown eyes. JoAnn was very professional. She knew what she was doing. My makeup wasn’t even done and I was already feeling beautiful. When she finished and handed me the mirror, I didn’t even recognize myself! The makeup was PERFECT!!! It wasn’t too much and didn’t feel heavy at all. I could barely feel the false eyelashes she had put on. The best part was that my makeup lasted all day and night, even through wedding joys and tears.
I was very pleased with the service I received from JoAnn at Berlin Salon. I will be going back to her for any future special events.

I have been to Berlin Salon twice and I couldn’t be happier. Both times I went to Marissa, and she did a phenomenal job with getting my color even throughout, and exactly how I wanted it. The salon is clean and contemporary, and everyone I’ve encountered is very friendly. I highly recommend Marissa; she’s professional, talented, and kind.

Cieanna does my wife’s hair while I get a haircut and a beer next door with the boys. My wife is always happy with the service. Thank you for making my wife happy.

Farrah, who has blessed me with two unforgettable visits, gave me exactly what I wanted. Came here after consistently not getting the look I was going for, and she left me in awe. Her color creativity and eclectic cutting style made me obsessed with my own hair once again.

I was really hesitant about cutting my hair– but once I walked into this salon that completely changed! The salon itself is really cute and makes you feel glamorous just being there. I had FARRAH do my hair and I would definitely recommend her! I told her what I wanted and she made it happen like art and even gave me some tips– definitely coming here again!

Dominique is the person to go to. She styled and colored my hair. She truly is a talented human being. She is definitely a hair guru. She takes her time and makes sure that she does an exceptional job. As soon as she was done with my hair, I was amazed and extremely happy with the results. She truly has a talent and gift. I was once told your hair is the frame to your face, so naturally I was extremely reluctant and nervous to change my hair stylist when my own stylist went on pregnancy leave. (Ya’all are having too many babies nowadays buy a dog!) Somewhere in my twisted head subconsciously I figured I’d wait… So, waited I did.
37 days later… lol I’m frantically looking on Unilocal and doing nightly Instagram searches for someone who I will allow to touch my hair.
Needless to say, I found her. :)
As soon as I contacted Domi (aka Dominique) she was ever so kind to immediately schedule me. She even seen me before the salon opened due to my hectic schedule (7 am). As any client knows when you find a talented hair stylist they typically book you around their schedule. She did no such thing, I was her only client and she took her time.
Will I be returning? I’m already looking forward to her next magic creation she pulls off with my hair.

I am obsessed with this salon it is amazing! It is decorated so cute and vibe is so open and friendly. I am not familiar with whitter area because I will in Santa Monica (about 45 mins away) but this area a whitter is so cute and has lots of cute restaurants ! But back to salon the products they use are amazing! If you go ask for Farrah she is the best she the best! I would definitely come back. Even though it is far from me it is so worth drive because the vibe is amazing and the stylist are so talented!!!

Ask for Rebecca Vazquez! She is an amazing hairdresser and an amazing colorist. Knows it all about hair! I’ve pretty much done it all to my hair. And it’s still in great condition. I tell her what look I want and she works her little talented hands. I am always satisfied. And you will too! ;)

This was the WORST experience I have had in recent memory with a business. I had a VERY formal black tie wedding to attend in Los Angeles and well over a month in advance, I booked an appointment at this salon for an up-​do. When I was making the appointment, I asked the gal if I needed to have clean hair or not and didn’t get an answer. She said the stylist would be in touch with me which never happened. I never got a reminder call so I called to make sure that I was confirmed on their books, and I was indeed confirmed. I was clear when I made the appointment that I needed to be out by 11:30 am.
My appointment was at 10:30am Sat. May 30^th. I arrived at 10:15am (early!). There were 4 stylists hanging out talking. The stylist who was going to do my hair was in the BEGINNING stages of doing a foil for a client with LONG hair. She said she would be with me shortly. 10:30 am came, I was still waiting. 10:45 am, I was still waiting. 11am and I was STILL waiting and began to panic. I asked the stylist what was going on and she just said sorry she would be with me soon. I felt like I was at Super Cuts just randomly waiting in line for my turn or something and not at a salon where things are done by appointments. I told her that I had to be out by 11:30 and so it didn’t seem like she was going to be able to do my hair. She went over to the other 4 stylists to ask if they could take me and after 5 minutes of talking to each other no one said anything to me so I asked from across the room and they all just said «no, sorry but we all have clients in 15 minutes so we can’t take you». Ok, well I was there at 10:15 am and so if they knew that the stylist who was supposed to take me couldn’t then at THAT time someone else should have stepped in. This was so juvenile and unacceptable. Their apology was completely pathetic, too. They really could have cared less.
I was 5 months pregnant at the time and I had to go running around Uptown finding other salons and seeing if anyone could take me. I went into the retail shops and I can’t tell you HOW MANY LOCALS SAID BERLIN IS TERRIBLE. It’s like a known secret. I was referred to MOZART SALON, J ANTHONY SALON and PALOMA AND FRIENDS SALON.
The staff at J ANTHONY SALON were soooo sweet and they were doing amazing work while I was there so I was impressed with their skill and professionalism. They couldn’t take me but they felt horrible for me and they kindly had me use their phone to call salons and also provided recommendations for salons to me.
PALOMA AND FRIENDS was able to squeeze me in. THEY WERE AMAZING! It is the cutest salon, it is chic, and it is run by women, not young girls so the process is polished as it should be. They did a great job and she rushed to get me out as soon as possible. At least in this process I found 2 other salons that I would definitely go to.

There is nothing bad i can say about coming here.
JoAnn has been my go to girl since day 1! she is AMAZING! i give her ideas on what i want and she always out does herself! i am never disappointed with what she does with my hair. my hair is kind of a big deal to me and i have had big trust issues when it comes to how i want it dyed and cut. she listens to what i want and when asked for suggestions, she gives her honest opinion and i love that! i love how i feel when i walk out of Berlin after she has worked on my hair and styled it.

Love this hair salon! Dominique made the process going from black to platinum blonde so easy for me and always keeps my hair look so healthy! She really works miracles :)

$ 25 blowout with the Unilocal checkin offer, yay! First time getting a blowout (for a wedding) and was impressed at how well it held throughout the whole day. I wanted some bouncier curls so my stylist added them in with a large-​barrel iron. She made certain to check with me to make sure I had the style I wanted and even adjusted the water to hot when I requested it.
Overall very attentive, great salon, and very reasonable prices. I would definitely come back!
