Denny’s

I wish they could have at least removed the plastic wrapper from my cheese. Best part was, we still got a bill after this. I’ve never been a picky customer when I eat, but come on, this is a joke. How hard is it to remove the wrapper??? I can assure you I will never step foot in a Dennys again.

Good ol’ Denny’s. They are not famous for serving the best food out there, but they are known for always being there when you need them. I think their sandwiches and burgers are pretty bland, but they serve decent breakfast items at all hours of the night. I think Denny’s is the perfect spot to go to when you aren’t feeling super adventurous and just want to eat some food late at night after a long night of partying. I’ve been here several times late at night and the crowd can be somewhat loud, but I never encountered any problems.

Came here drunk (biggest mistake of my life). We were the only party in there. Service was so slow. Guadalupe forgot our drinks and the order was wrong. However, the icing on the cake was seeing a cockroach in the restroom. And it was a baby cockroach. Meaning, they’re probably infested…

Service is awful, my daughter order mash potatoes the gravy came almost at the end of her meal. The waiter stopped at my table once and thats because I called him over. The service was horrible and it has gotten worse every time. If I could I would give them negative stars.

I would give no stars if I could our waitress only came to my table twice once to take my order and the other time was to bring the food she seems to be helping the other two parties around us but not our table like come on there’s only three people in here she never came to check to see if the food was OK or refill our drinks which it wasn’t she forgot part of my order and never brought any ketchup or hot sauce then to get her attention I had to stare down the cook which she kept laughing and talking to for ever instead of doing her job to be able to come to my table and give me my check then I asked her if she can take off the food she never brought me on my bill and she said she couldn’t and if I wanted to wait for it to go I refused and said I’m frustrated and do not want to wait any longer if she can please just take it off the bill she said she wasn’t sure how to I did the math and gave her the answer and she was still unsure so she called the manager which gave her the same answer I did and the problem was solved never going here again.

Such horrible service, we’ve been here 15 min they didn’t take our order. We actually had to say something for them to take out order, took them another 25 min to bring our drinks. It’s now been 35 min and still no food. As for there excuse its «busy» there’s only 4 tables right now…

I frequent this location often, usually after midnight. Each time I have a different experience but my most recent really disappointed me as far as service goes.
For one, the seats at the counters feel like they’re about to fall apart under you. Disregarding that, I found a suitable seat and was given menus. I had decided to order a single smoothie and glass of water to just sit back and relax for a while. No complaints there.
What got me was, despite being at the counter for over 45 minutes, I was not checked on once nor was my water refilled. The diner was nigh empty at the time of this visit and my server passed by me dozens of times.
Upon paying my bill of little under $ 4, I was asked if I would like to leave a tip (as were other parties before me.) Considering I was served a single beverage steps away from their prepping station, not checked on, and not given a refilled water, I refused. I was polite about it and said, «No thank you.» The servers response felt almost panhandling when she said «Aw c’mon.» After which, I felt obligated to say, «No, I was too easy.»
In my experience here, I’ve never been asked to leave a tip by my server when paying with card. I typically just fill it out on the merchant copy of the receipt (which she didn’t even give me). Naturally, it was perplexing in and of itself. But to be begged for a tip (which at 20% would’ve been $ 0.80) just irked me.
Bear in mind, it is my belief that a tip should be earned by the server as incentive towards good service. I have no problem giving someone the 20% they deserve if I was satisfied with my visit. I will not, however, encourage poor service by giving in to a server who just begged me to tip them. It was extremely unprofessional.

DENNYS ON SLAUSON AND PIONEER. Just to let everyone know, that Vivian Santos General Manager here at Dennys, she’s very rude, not profesional and she mistreats customers. She thinks she owns the place and breaks the rules, please do not come to this restaurant. I used to be a regular, 3 times a week, managers in the past were very attentive and eager to please us during every visit, since she started working here everything has changed for the worse. When we order some of the items are not available and has said if we are not happy with her service then go somewhere else. If this continues, I would not be surprised if this restaurant goes out of business. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE ESTABLISHMENT!

Came in and got seated at a table that was not cleaned. Then waited 15 minutes for someone just to take a drink order and that was after I had gotten up twice to ask the front desk. The restaurant was not busy at all so I couldn’t understand why. I waited 10 more minutes for my food order to be taken and that never occurred so I decided to leave with my company. Never have I ever been to a Denny’s with this service. I’ll never return.

ordered a club sandwich with white bread and no tomatoes. they brought it out With Wheat bread & Tomatoes. also ordered a country fried steak and it was dried OUT! could barely cut through it. ew! also no air conditioner in this place. wont be going back to this dennys.

Finally had some alone time with the wife and we decided to get a quick bite to eat prior to picking up our son. We’ve been to this Denny’s in the past and everything seemed to be OK. Freeway close. Just our luck it was a Sunday and there were a million of people here. Typical Sunday traffic. No problem, so far.
First and foremost the booth I sat in was lumpy and the cushions need to be replaced. My wife also found a fly on her iced tea. OK things happen like that, but when we received our food, things weren’t quite as we expected.
The hashbrowns were overcooked. We’ve been eating turkey bacon for years, so I was disappointed when we received a couple slices of ham. If I was one of those who is against eating pork, which I am at times I would have flipped. But according to the waitress she insisted it was turkey bacon. She offered to replace it with regular bacon and we accepted to avoid further drama and we went on with our meal.
Based on this experience, I will just travel a few miles over and visit a reputable Denny’s in Pico or Uptown Whittier.
I do not recommend this location. Save your money!

wow these reviews can’t be any more wrong. one of the better denny’s i’ve been to. staff was super, place looked nice, and most importantly, the food was great!

Sometimes you just get that craving for breakfast in the middle of the night. Coming home from a show we stopped here for a quick bite. Got seated right away since it was basically empty. I had the lumberjack slam and my fiancée had the supper bird with season fries. The waitress was very nice and cheerful. Food was just ok. Nothing special. Toast was a little cold and so were the eggs and pancakes. But once again it’s Denny’s so what do you expect at midnight.

The staff was super friendly. Food was great. I went in thinking the place was going to be horrible because of the reviews. Overall it wasn’t like any other reviews.

Pretty good fare. Same as all the other Denny’s. This one is next to a Motel 6 and off the freeway, so don’t know if that was why it was pretty packed for Sunday morning.
They have the pumpkin spice pancakes right now. Yum!

I love Denny’s! This one stays true to itself. I got served by a waiter right away. Food cooked fresh (most places nuke pre prepped food now). Quiet enough… but had kids (they always make my heart rejoice). The server was friendly and attentive. Overall good expirence.

1 star because the staff is ok. Other than that, this place is discusting! Pube in my silverware, sticky menus and dirty tables. Got the «build your own chicken wraps with buffalo sauce and the chicken looked like it had been sitting out all day and they just slapped wing sauce on it at the last second. Stuff floating in my water. I still tipped the waitress 15% because i also wait tables and dont think she should take all the blame. Ill just never go to this dennys again.

It used to be my favorite location, and now it’s all turned to crap. There’s no hostess to take down names to be seated which makes getting a table nearly impossible. I waited in line to at least get a chance To talk to the cashier and people just cut in front of other customers to talk to her. Makes the civilized customer look like a damn fool. Pickups apparently also have priority which I normally wouldn’t mind but when you have a line of 8 people it becomes an issue.

I am at loss for words. 20+ minutes for a waiter to even ask us what drinks we want. Never coming back. Terrible service. Can I give half a star? I wish even though this place deserves none.

I enjoy coming to this Denny’s because the couple of times that I’ve been here it’s never packed, it’s quiet, clean, food is good and the customer service is A-​OK. Plus, you can never go wrong with some French Toast, eggs, sausage or bacon and hash browns for $ 6.00!
Yup, I’m a fan.
