This was my first time having Flame Broiler and I got the organic tofu steam rice and veggies and boy oh boy was it delish!!! The place is pretty neat and clean. The guy at the front counter was pretty nice and helpful with my questions. Everything tastes fresh, they gave me a lot of veggies and tofu. Overall I was pretty happy with my visit and food.

I have been to a lot of flame broilers, I love the food and the healthy and fresh aspect. This place was clean and people were nice but they give WAYLESS food than other locations. At first I thought it was the«new bowl» but after eating I could totally tell there was less meat, rice, and veggies… Not to mention my bowl wasn’t full like at other locations.

I haven’t been to flame broiler in a few years and prices have gone up a little. They have a green sauce now which was quite spicy. The food came out fast. No complaints. I usually get the beef and chicken mix and always enjoyed the chicken much better because it had so much flavor. The beef was a bit rough. Def getting chicken next time. The brown was a little dry as well

This review is for service alone. Must be plucking a chicken out back or something, it’s not that busy, they should be able to push out a mini chicken bowl faster than 20 minutes!

This Flame Broiler is pretty good. Usually come here for lunch, and the service is pretty good and the food comes out in a decent time.

Worst service EVER! My family and I walked in one night after being at the emergency room across the street with our child for over 2 hours. We were starving and wanted something other than fast food. It was about 30 minutes til closing time, we get our turn to order and the guy says right away«this will be for to go, we’re getting ready to leave» so my husband tells the guy, that we are starving, and that we want to eat now. the jerk them proceeds to cut him off with«there’s a Carl’s jr right there» as he points. I was shocked. Seriously? What a jerk. So we walked out. Never will I attempt to step foot in that place. You shouldn’t either.

It’s ok for a quick chicken bowl, which they served it with avocado. They also need to clean this place up

If you’re looking for something on the healthier side of fast food, then you can’t go wrong with this chain. I stick w/the chicken and brown rice and keep it moving.

Heard lot of good things about this restaurant/business, but man their food sucks… Ordered the«works» plate and the chicken and beef is dry and tough to chew. Waste my money paying for cardboard junk food. The place must reheat the precooked meat.

Definitely much better than Yoshinoya, no question. The meat has more and better flavor for one, and their portions are almost twice as big as Yoshinoya. I first had Flame Broiler a few years back but could never find one close to me. Now all of a sudden they are poppin’ up everywhere. That could be good, or that could be bad. I stick with the Chicken but the Beef is good also. Fast and clean, this is a must try if u enjoy Chicken Bowls… Honorable Mention: Large Chicken Bowl no Veggies!

Get the veggies added in to the chicken or beef and get the best of both worlds.

Pros: + Chicken + Magic sauce Cons: — Brown rice This spot has some really tasty chicken for being a fast food place. As others have mentioned, this place is clean and the service is pretty quick. I’m not sure why it has such low reviews. It isn’t gourmet cooking, but the chicken taste like it just came off the grill with a charcoal bbq flavor. I recommend the chicken as I find it tastier then the beef here. I highly recommend the magic sauce. My sister swears that the magic sauce here is just plain teriyaki, but I love it. It might only be because it is called«magic sauce», but it sure taste a lot better than regular teriyaki sauce to me. The employees here are pretty cool too. If you’re trying to watch the calories the brown rice here isn’t too great and it is more noticeably healthy than other locations. Some places have really good brown rice and you can hardly differentiate it from white rice. That isn’t the case here. I recommend ordering half and half. On the menu half and half means half beef, half chicken. Specify to the employee that you wish to have half white rice and half brown rice instead. When the two are mixed, the taste is overall better and it is still healthier. I usually come here because it is near where I work and it is healthier than most fast food. The four stars are given for a fast food restaurant standard. If this were an actual restaurant I’d rate it lower. Hope this helps.

A fast and delicious meal if you’re on the go! Much better than L&L’s and yoshinoya… and possibly healthier too! I usually get«The Works» Bowl — chicken, beef and veggies with a choice of Brown or White rice and green onions. The location is clean and in a newer plaza next to a Verizon store and TOGO’s. Service is what brought down the stars for me. Although they are mostly friendly, when I was ordering, the cashier greeted me as if he didn’t want to be there(Don’t blame me for your job buddy) and was drinking a cup of soda or juice WHILE taking and putting in my order!!! Just a word of advice of customer service… you might not wanna be drinking ANYTHING while you are in front of customers, let alone taking their order…

Frame Broiler is pretty good. I’d consider it Yoshinoyas slightly more attractive cousin. Having grown tired of all those crappy burger places(see, Carls Jr, Jack in the Box, burger king, McDonalds, all within a mile radius of one another) yet still in the mood for something fast and cheap, I like to hit up Flame Broiler from time to time. Since I am not a huge beef fan, I must choose between a chicken and rice bowl, or a chicken/veggie rice bowl. Since there’s something about just chicken and rice that doesn’t feel like complete meal, I chose the chicken and veggie bowl. I swear to you, there were two small sorry excuses for broccoli and two slices of carrot, and a MOUNTAIN of cabbage. I’m not a huge cabbage fan, but I’ll eat a piece here and there… but there was TONS of it, probably a 3:1 ratio of cabbage to veggies. Their chicken is pretty delicious though. It looks a lot more apostatizing than Yoshinoyas chicken, which always kind of looks raw to me. Ugh, I shudder just thinking about that slimmy mess. There’s no skin on this chicken which is a plus, but its not all white meat either. Those little teriyaki pumps are the devil though, because you get to pour it all over your food to your hearts content. I try to refrain though cause I’m pretty sure its going to give me the beetus. Other than that, it’s alright!

Came here cause my coworker suggested it. So as i walk in, the place itself is pretty clean. Now all they serve here is bowls and plates. Chicken, veggie or beef bowls, and you option for the plate, in which you get a side salad and a slice of orange with. The bowls are 5.35 and the plates being a dollar more. So my friend suggested the works bowl, which came with all three ingredients listed above. You do have an option of getting it with white or brown rice. Kimchee is optional. So the bowl itself was meh… chicken and beef where diced into small little pieces. Like one of the other reviewers said, long strips of either chicken or beef would of been way better. Flavor overall was decent. Vegetables were ok. Portion was ok. Would i come back. Probably not. For this type of meal, i’d rather hit up Yoshinoya…

You know what’s rare? Fast food that doesn’t make you feel like you’re about to birth one of those aliens that burst outta your gut. That’s why I like flame broiler. It’s clean and tasty fast food. I always get the plates(because, well, I’m a piggie) and prefer the half chicken half beef with brown rice and green onions. I always feel satisfied and one step closer to my dream career of a 5’2″ America’s Next Top Model.

this little chain, koreanesque, fast food type restaurant handed me my chicken and veggie bowl with white rice [sometimes brown] for the last time today… they fucking swear i’m not going to notice that half my bowl is steamed cabbage and that i’m going to be totally cool with two teeny broc pieces and two slices of carrot and call that a side of veggies. like really, you’re gonna try to play me like that FB? i’ve been down for this place since i first had it in buena park off valley view… the one right around the corner from best friend’s house with the awesomely friendly staff and amazing portions of every ingredient in the rice bowl… that was the og spot and now you come to whittier and think you can pull these types of trix? this whittier FB started off great… they had bowls equal in quality to the ones in buena park, and they were brand new so the staff was in really good spirits and we even got coupons for our office. we were stoked on FB for about 2 months then it all started to go downhill. the non-cabbage type veggies have been dwindling in my bowl for some time now, today was just the worst it’s been… it was literally half the bowl. that much cabbage is unacceptable, and i like my cabbage. i understand it’s probably saving them tons of money to do this and the economy is hurting and veggies are more expensive, but come on! it’s still wrong. ok, it probably won’t be the last time i’m here because my co-workers and i enjoy it every once in a while… the chicken is flavorful, the stuff’s healthier than del taco, and the prices are decent when half my god damn bowl doesn’t consist of steamed cabbage posted pics of the mound.
