Purchased a groupon, called twice, tried to schedule an appointment and have not received a call back. Disappointing.

I would love to try this place as I have already purchased a groupon. I still have not been able to reach anyone to schedule the appointment.

I was not surprised to read all this drama on Unilocal about this place. I tried to book a party for my daughter for August but was NEVER able to find the owner to book it. THEPLACEISALWAYSCLOSEDANDTHEOWNERNEVERRETURNSMYCALLS!!! How do they stay in business I wonder? I was willing to pay the almost $ 500 dollars for a private party but I guess she did not want my business. Anyways I am glad she neglected to call me back since I read so many negative reviews about this place. Don’t bother coming here as it is ALWAYS closed anyways.

I had my daughter’s bday party herein Nov 2010. We happened to pass it one night walking down uptown & my daughter fell in love with the hot pink & zebra print curtains in the window and insisted I call and make an appt for her bday. I loooked it up on the internet and saw all the events they had going on. I called & left a message and rcvd a call back from Karina teh same day. She was very courteous & professional. We had about 15 little girls(ages 6 – 9) for my daughter’s party. The price was very reasonable and included their facials, pedicures, cupcakes & drinks. All we had to do was show up & pay. I loved it and so did my kids. This place has hot pink & zebra everywhere, it’s a lil girls dream(or adult diva). They do have many events outside of the storefront so an appt is needed. I want to have my birthday party here.

This place caught my eye one night while driving down uptown Whittier, so I decided to Google it to see what it was all about as the store front didn’t appear to reveal much about the business. Was it a strip bar? A beauty supply store? An accessories store? A pink fabric store? After reading the limited Unilocal reviews and the really bad one where the owner and Unilocaler went back and forth it made me hesitant to ever try it, plus their prices(see website, $ 40+ for really basic mani/pedi) were pretty pricey. However, on a Saturday morning I decided to bite the bullet mostly because I noticed a deal they had in their Facebook page. Plus, I wanted to make up my own conclusion and support a local small business. The front of the store is covered in hot pink so when I walked in I asked if they also did mani/pedis for adults and they cheerfully responded that they did. They didn’t carry any OPI lacquer or massage chairs, a bit of a turn off(especially for the price) but not the end of the world as I was looking for a good clean nail place close to home. The place was completely empty with only one employee and the owner. We all engaged in some friendly conversation. I felt the need to inform them that I was hesitant about coming in after reading their Unilocal reviews. Lets just say I wish I had not mentioned it, the owner went into a LONG detailed explanation about the events with the Unilocaler. She told me way more than I cared to know especially on an early Saturday morning while trying to relax as I got a manicure. My nails came out beautiful! Days later when I look off the nail polish my nails were extremely shiny! I believe the girl’s name was Jessica. Fast forward months later… I called to confirm their hours as their website was down. I called a few times and there was no answer(and no voice mail greeting) I finally decided to leave a voice message to what appeared to be a cell phone. She called back DAYS later and she confirmed that I didn’t need an appointment and they would be there if I showed up around 10am. I showed up around 10:30am and the place was closed. I called the owner and no answer; I left her a message and reminded her of our previous conversation. She called me back DAYS later, I once again reminded her of our conversation of she didn’t say anything; I then asked her if an appointment was needed and she said yes. So what in a matter of days they changed their policy? What type of nail salon closes on Saturdays anyways? Every time I drive by this place it’s closed which I think is pretty suspicious. Their website now says that«DUETOOURTYPEOFBUSINESSWEDOMANYEVENTSOUTSIDETHIS BESTTOCALLUSFORANAPPOINTMENT» Really? Due to their«type of business»?? It’s unfortunate because I really liked the girl that did my nails. Oh and apparently they can’t call the plumber to fix their bathroom faucet, they just let the water run… not drip… run!

I LOVELOVELOVE this salon! Thename speaks for itself, super girly and super cute! I’ve been going there since they opened and have NEVER had a bad experience. I can’t say that about every nail shop I’ve patronized… I’m sure we all have our chop shop horror stories, I know I do. That’s why I continue to be their customer, I know they will do a stellar job. Plus, they’re active in the community & do charity work for child cancer victims! I’ve taken my 2 year old who was treated like a princess but I have to admit, I prefer to be treated like a princess! If you want to be pampered without breaking the bank in a fun & relaxing atmosphere, Girly Girls is where you want to go. As with any reputable salon, an appointment in advance is required, although they have been known to accomodate walkins, and well worth it!

Just wanted to share with potential customers an email I received on April 10th, 2010 from the staff at Girly Girls Beauty Bar. This text was copied in its entirety. I leave it to potential customers to decide for themselves, but this was my personal experience and reflects how I was treated by staff at this business. from to date Sat, Apr 10, 2010 at 11:53PM subject Re: Re: RE: Message Received PLEASESEEHIGHLIGTEDAREA!!! Carmen I realise you have plenty of time to write this! Again, it seems regardless of who or what someone says or writes you are simply a stubborn person who will even in factcheck our spelling and grammar; anything to belittle someone just to feel more important. Here is food for though perhaps we only had one appointment at 2 because we do not overbook so we can attend to our clients. Carmen lets make this clear once and for all you call inquiringa little girls party and when we mean«private» is that is close for the public unless you made reservations and/or appointment prepaid or not! You never mention your appointment was for grown women!!! We have blocked you from our emails and I have ask the girls not to contact you in any shape way or form. Please keep your comments to yourself you are an intriguing person songs like you have a chip on your shoulder. I have responded to you arrogant, ignorant comments. I do not appreciate you way of approaching us. We apologies and you did not accept our apology if you did you wouldn’t have the need to repetaly email us with nonsenses. PLEASESEEHIGHLIGTEDAREA!!! By the way if I reply to this email is because you seem to still be on demands of concerns…

I advise everyone to read the comment the owner left on my review. She seems to have me confused with someone else and is trying to discredit my review. Perfect example of what i was talking about in my earlier review. If you want to deal with nonsense, false accusation, and unprofessional exchanges, then by all means, please visit girly girls beauty bar. Goodluck with everything and Im sorry the owner felt the need to get defensive. I will not get sucked into internet cat fights. so my comments end here.
