Love their potato tacos(papa tacos) yum! Grilled fish tacos are tasty and portions are generous. Don’t forget to ask for grilled onions on the side! Very tasty. If you are in a hurry, this place may not for you. They take a bit longer to make your food, but it’s worth it!

Our family enjoyed our lunch here. We each ordered something different, taquitos, nachos, taco Ollita– cactus with chicken, mulita and fish tacos. If you love cactus, get the Ollita taco, it has a perfect season flavoring and texture with the cactus. I couldn’t get a picture of the strawberry horchata, because it was just gulped down– so good! Don’t try sharing, just get your own. The strawberry nachos were also phenomenal. They are made with some type of a crispy flour tortilla that’s sprinkled with cinnamon and just has a perfect blend of sweetness. I love that this place is a family owned business with great service. Just like being at grandma’s kitchen.

Good food, but the portion sizes aren’t worth the price. Huge menu to pick from but again a very expensive place to eat. &7.50 for a small burrito. Yikes!

Out of respect for what I just ate, I will never again attempt to make chilaquiles at home. Truly an outstanding meal!

I was in the area for work and took a lunch here. It was so hard to figure out what to order here because they have so many things on their menu that I wanted to try. I ended up ordering the milanese torta(one of my favorite) and I wasn’t disappointed. Firstly the portions here are huge. The torta was packed and I really had to put in work to eat this torta. The breading to meat ratio was perfect and they were not shady with the amount of guacamole they put in it either. The torta was served with fries but I opted not to eat the fries. They have a salsa bar here and I got to say it was the best red sauce I ever had. I ended up using 6 little salsa cups to go along with my torta. The salsa was spicy and the kick was very nice and complimented the torta. Not to mention the red sauce was also very flavorful. I washed all this down with their strawberry horchata. I never had strawberry horchata and it literally blew my mind. It has the taste of horchata fused with strawberry milk. The best part was the strawberry chunks that was in it. Only downside of this spot is the price. My meal cost me $ 14 and I only got torta and strawberry horchata. But I would still come back because he food is good. Also there’s plenty of parking.

Great little local spot with good Mexican food. The family that owns and operates this place is always very pleasant and goes above and beyond to give good service. If you want good Mexican food and a variety to choose from then this is the place. Support local small business in the Whittier community. :)

Love the food — the mini soft tacos are my favorite! Total hole in the wall from the outside but has a great vibe inside. Don’t miss out on the onions and peppers in the foil packet — yum!

The food is 5 stars — easy. The«customer service» /service with a smile is a little lacking and the wait can be bad sometimes. I’ve had burritos, pozole, tacos and the cubano torta from here. Everything is great.

Stopped by this place after moving here from Arizona and was blown away. I have a chicken taco and a beef chile colorado burrito and they were both delicious. The staff was also friendly and helpful and they were incredibly patient with me. This is a wonderful find and I will be back!

Words can’t describe how amazing the food here is. Everything my family has order has been outstanding. They have a very large range menu. Something for everybody. I’ve brought some very demanding folks here and they have loved it. The only down side for this place is the front staff. They a very unorganized(to put it kindly). They often seem as if they are overwhelmed. If you are in the mood for some excellent Mexican food, you can’t go wrong here. Just keep in mind that service will be a tad slow, but it definitely worth the wait.

My carnitas burrito tasted like Porky pig been left out on the road for about five days. I tried to smother the Carnitas burrito in their tasty salsa but it was to know avail. My daughters quesadilla was excellent. My wife’s chicken taco was tasty. Overall I rated this place a three because the other two items were very good, good luck spin the wheel. One last thing I forgot to mention when I went into the restroom they have an extremely large variety of air freshener’s. At that point I should’ve probably figured it out.

My bf & I came here last night hoping to get some food. The cashier completely ignored us for so long, that we ended up just walking right out. Such a shame, because the food is great, but the customer service is subpar.

I was ok with waiting 20 minutes for a couple burritos the last two times but when I walk in and don’t get served for a good 10 minutes while people who are eating, stand up and have conversations with the cashier I’m out. Never coming back here again. Decent food but the service is SOBAD. Maybe next time you can serve people in order so you don’t lose business.

Food-5 Stars, Customer Service-2 Stars, Wait Time-0 Stars, Value-0 Star I came out of Unilocal retirement just to post about my experience at Rosarito. How can something so good piss you off so bad? Well, let me tell you… I randomly walked into this place while on my way to Subway next door. I was surprised to find it had a hip vibe. I expected it to be the typical, plain white walled taco joint where one would walk in, order and go. NOT! A wall of corrugated aluminum with cool decals adorned one side of the room while a huge dia de los muertos altar occupied a corner. The chalkboard walls with the menu items written on them was another element that I was feeling. I was surprised by the HIGH food prices. This is so cal=cheap food. This is no Beverly Hills or Calabasas establishment where the high prices would be expected. Anyway, I gleefully ordered and was dumbfounded when the lady at the register said $ 35.00. Say What? Yup, $ 35.00. She said the food may be expensive, but it is all homemade and generous. UUhhh. hard to believe. I expected it to be maybe $ 25.00 for a couple a fish tacos, vegetable bowl, water, horchata and two tacos. And so I waited. and waited.and waited… and waited. This pinche order took 40 minutes to make. TOTALLY fricken unacceptable and I let them know. If you know it is going to take that damn long because you are busy or whatever, tell the customer. IT is called customer service. Get a fricken clue. I had to keep asking and that kid in the front would just mumble something like uuhh. yours is next… just straight up weak. I could have gone out and walked around outside instead of picking my azz in the place. So. as damn good as the food ended up being, I REFUSE to ever go back. And I also found out my family from So Cal also refuses to go there because of the unacceptable wait time. You need to hire more staff and practice on your customer service. As a courtesy, let us know how long the wait will be… HIREANOTHERCOOKTOCUTTHEWAITTIME!!!

The bad review is for the customer service. The older woman who I think is the wife of the owner is rude and has very bad attitude. Every other time I went, the owner and younger cashiers have always been friendly. Every time the older woman is working the register there is a problem. She is argumentative and has a bad attitude. I guess because she is part owner she feels superior to her customers. Will not go back due to her rudeness and I tell my family, friends and co-workers not to order from here because of her.

Ok so YAY I am a fan of the food. I had the enchilada stake and it was enough for 3 meals! The server was bit rude and they charge you for extra chip… that i am not a fan of…

Tried this place out today with the wife and 8yo. Cool spot with lots of stuff to look at. The chalkboard menu stretches for about a mile and isn’t the easiest to make heads or tales of, but we got by. It was taco Tuesday(small street«soft» tacos are $ 1.25 and hard shelled tacos are $ 1.75), so I decided on tacos. I got two street tacos, one barbacoa and one choriasada. Both were damn good. The barbacoa was tender and crispy, like they fried it for a minute. The choriasada is ½ chorizo, ½ carne asada, and delicious. The hard shelled tacos were a bit of a let down, lots of lettuce and cheese, pretty light on the meat. Next time I’ll stick with the street«soft» tacos. The wife and 8yo split the potato tacos and seemed happy. The wife also got a Quesadilla which came with guacamole and Crema. It was loaded with cheese and had bits of crispy cheese on the Tortilla. Not sure if that was an accident, but it was really good. The sauces are nice. I really liked the red — spicy and smoky. The green sauce is fresh and tasty. Pickled onions, salsa, limes, cucumbers, cilantro can all be had at the salsa bar. Be sure to ask for chips. They weren’t offered, but I asked and received fresh tortillas chips. Also, the sautéed onions and chiles that came on the side is a nice touch.

Location: Whittier Boulevard near the intersection of First Street, on the south side of the street towards the west end of the shopping center(closer to First Street). Parking: Private lot. Staff: Kind & courteous, but I’ve never been to a Mexican spot where the cashier didn’t speak Spanish & wasn’t familiar w some of the items on their menu when I asked questions. SMH. The lack of Spanish skills made ordering tough for the Spanish-only speakers in our group. Environment: Casual spot, roomy w many tables, handled a group of 10 of us easily. Stickers on some of the walls, games at the tables help make the wait bearable. Food: Portions are in-line w the price, note some potions are enough to share. Excellent menu selection which can be overwhelming on first visit, lots of veggie items including nopales/cactus. Food took a while but it was evident from the flavors & freshness that most everything was made to order. Self-serve salsa bar included pickled onions & a sort of curtido that was very good! FTR chips are $ 1, they are good but that’s pretty lame considering the time it takes to get food & the prices they charge. Recommend: –potato/papa tacos –calabacitas/zucchini tacos –fish/pescado tacos –cactus/nopal burrito –veggie burrito –chicken salad Minus a star for excessive salt in some of the dishes. WC: One stall for all.

Stingy on the meat. Paid $ 8.50 for what I thought was going to be a Carne Asada burrito, and instead got a rice and cheese burrito with a sprinkle of steak. I will never waste my money here again for as long as I live.

This review is based solely on the Menudo! I have not tried anything else from this restaurant! So it’s the weekend. The hubby is running around nurseries and gardening stores shopping for plants and grass while I am sleeping at home(ok, I was hooked on Netflix and didn’t want to get up to make breakfast)! He gets home with three large containers of Menudo! He says some man from one of the nurseries told him about this place. He referred to it as a tiny little hole in the wall! So it comes to a total of $ 30 and change! You get the regular: oregano, lemons, red chilli pepper seeds, cilantro, onions and are you ready for this?(Drumroll please) HOMEMADECORNTORTILLAS! Freshly made BYHAND! The Menudo was so clean, tasted really good! The tripe is cut in to small chewable pieces! My kids didn’t have to keep gnawing on it over and over! I also liked that you can get it with or without any hominy and yes… It is still considered«Authentic»(as many of us Unilocalers usually refer to our food)! As for me I love Menudo however it comes at me! If in the area you have two places to try Menudo in this shopping center! I would say give this place a try! I know you won’t be disappointed with the Menudo! Now back to my show… ;)
