This place was recommended to us from a previous local. It was around 3pm and we had a group of 20 people. The young man at the counter was very nice and answered all of our questions. I ordered the two meat dinner but with all ribs, baked beans and the macaroni salad. The food came out fast and the food was delicious! Ribs were perfect. They came dry and I used the bbq sauce that was out on the table setting. Everything was great. I would definitely recommend this place! Very very good! Everyone was satisfied.

I’m not BBQ aficionado, so take it for what it’s worth, but i wasn’t impressed with a 4.5 star rated BBQ joint on Unilocal.I got a take out order of ribs and hot links with sides of cole slaw and baked beans. I actually liked the sides more than the protein. Most of the orders come with a side of bread and sauce. the bread is just your normal loaf of bread and the hot BBQ sauce didn’t have any heat to it. The hot ilnks were good, but I didn’t get any kick like I was hoping for, but it was moist and had a crisp casing. The ribs were cooked where the meat comes easily off the phone while still having some bite and that’s how I think it should be. It was lacking in some salt for me(can’t believe i’m saying that because I usually have a low salt tolerance). The close slaw was crisp and not too much mayo. Baked beans were really good, if it was cooked with some bacon, it would probably be even better. Service was really good though and while I was placing my order, it seemed like there were a lot of regulars. The person taking the order(Brian I think) was really nice. There’s plenty of room to eat and it would be good for large groups. I would come back, but not like I’m dying to go back either. Hope I just didn’t order the wrong items and that’ll it’ll be better next time.

This restaurant is my «go to» for BBQ on the west side. I love the pulled pork and my family seems to like all the other meats. I am not a hugely knowledgeable BBQ aficionado(you know who you are) so the sides for me need to be good as well. I am more than satisfied with the coleslaw and potato salad. The beans are a cut above however, with great texture and flavor. Its traditional to serve a slice of bread with BBQ, but i have never seen the point and just tell them to hold the bread. The staff are friendly and helpful, and they are quick getting food out to customers. I also ordered a smoked turkey one Thanksgiving, and it was satisfactory.

First trip to Wichita and thought we would try to find some decent local BBQ. WPF had 4.5 stars and was close to the airport so we made our way over there. It’s located in an average looking shopping center with plenty of parking. Not very crowded when we arrived at around 11:45. I got the two meat plate with two sides and my wife got the one meat plate with two sides. I got the brisket and ribs with macaroni salad and potato salad. The brisket had good flavor but was a little dry. The ribs were good and had a nice gentle pull to get them off the bone. Very meaty and not very fatty at all. No sauce was needed for the ribs but I did have to put some sauce on the brisket because it was so dry. The potato salad was a mustard base and was decent. The macaroni salad was bland. My wife also got the brisket and thought hers was dry as well. She tried the potato salad and the baked beans. The beans had two different types of beans, your typical baked beans and then some kidney beans. They had a great flavor. Meal is served with 2 pieces of white bread. Drinks are separate from the meal. For two of us the bill ran us about $ 29.00 The customer service was very good and the restaurant is very clean and has plenty of seating with both free standing tables and booths.

Great service! Great sides! The rub on the barbecue was too salty for my liking. My husband and his parents liked the rub.

We decided to try this place while visiting Wichita for a day. They have well seasoned dry rub ribs, no sauce needed. Tender brisket. Unique tasting baked beans. sweet with a hint of spice. Very nice staff.

In from out of town and visited this place tonight with two colleagues. From the moment we walked in we felt like friends of the staff. I asked what we should get because we had never been there before — and a guy who I later find out to be the owner Bryan — said«hold on let me hook you up.» I figured he just had to empty his arms of the boxes he was carrying but no, when he returned he had three bite size portions of EVERY meat they sold! It was a mini tasting platter to let us decide what we wanted to order. Incredible! I went with the ribs and brisket two meat platter. My colleagues got a selection of other stuff. All was fantastic although my highlight was the insanely tasty ribs. Deliciously smoked and amazingly seasoned. No need for bbq sauce but still used it on half of them because the sauce itself was so good too! I can’t emphasize enough how amazing the service was. Even without the sampler hook up in the beginning, these guys were all on point. I could not have asked for better service in absolutely any way. The food was flawless, and so was the staff. Can’t wait to come to Wichita for work again! Definitely coming back for this BBQ. Bryan and team, thanks for being awesome and welcoming us so warmly. Our dinner was a welcomed home away from home.

We had a great visit. This family-run restaurant is wonderful. The bbq and sides is fantastic, restaurant is very clean, and the staff is great! The owner even stopped to chat with us and when he heard it was our first time in, the owner gave us a half rack of ribs to try on the house!

Ribs! They were great, no sauce needed. The sauce was good if you want to know. Unfortunately that’s where the greatness ended. The hot link was good but not great and the brisket was no better then a crock pot roast. I had the baked beans and cole slaw, which were mediocre. They would do better if they offered fries as a side. If the rest of the menu was as good as the ribs, they would be a solid 5 star.

This place is a solid three. I do not mean it as an insult, but a three in the sense the everything was simply good, no more. I had brisket, pulled pork, and hot links with cole slaw and beans. I had to rely on BBQ sauce to give the meat some flavor. Everything was pretty much average. I have had far better BBQ but I have also had worse.

I am from Tampa Florida and I love BBQ… This place is a gold mine. The friendly and courteous service and the food is amazing… so moist and the flavor is awesome. The gentleman at the counter asked if this was our first time and gave us a free sampler. That is just unheard of now-a-days…Beef brisket, Jalapeño sausage, Cheddar Sausage, Ribs, beans, and BBQ sauce… They just know how to take care of the customer… thank you Tanner and Braden for an amazing experience.

I had the special: bbq brisket tacos in corn shells, potato salad and chips. The tacos were phenomenal! Sweet and smoky brisket as good as any I had living in the South. Homemade pico was an excellent topper, set off by fresh cilantro. Potato salad was right on the money. Staff were very helpful and polite. Great atmosphere!

Local gem close to the city’s airport. I’m from KC so I’d like to think I know what a plate of BBQ should taste like. The Pulled Pork and Brisket were both juicy and fell apart which the touch of a fork. Will be back next time in town.

I met my Daughter here for lunch yesterday. We meet for lunch once a month and we try to go somewhere that neither of us has been to OR a place that we both really enjoy. We usually go to places that feature a nice selection of Salads. She had suggested BBQ last month, so I researched it through Unilocal and their Website and decided this was the place to try. I always like to Preview a Menu, when possible — I don’t want to make anyone behind me wait and I don’t like to make rushed decisions. I decided on the 2 Meat Dinner Combo and so did my Daughter. I got the Pulled Pork(because of the reviews) and the Smoked Turkey with BBQ Beans and Cole Slaw. Plus two Beverages. I asked the young man behind the counter if HE considered the Cole Slaw to be sweet? He pondered it for about a minute and then said ‘No, it’s not, not really’. GOOD! That’s what I wanted to hear! Several of the Unilocal Reviewers had said that it had a garlic /onion taste and that’s what I like :) Let me say that I would give their Cole Slaw 5 Stars and I appreciated the HONESTY of the young man who took our order. The BBQ Bean that so many people seemed to like, were about a 3 Star to me. They were good, but not AWESOME! The Pulled Pork was wonderful and I also liked the Smoked Turkey. I ordered the 2 Meat Dinner with the intention to bring home the Turkey for dinner. My Daughter got the Ribs and Pulled Pork Combo with the BBQ Beans and the Macaroni Salad. She seemed to really enjoy the Ribs(3 of them) and decided to bring home 1 of them plus some of her BBQ Beans to my Grandson — so I gave her some of my Smoked Turkey. She LOVES Turkey, always has. She finished her Pulled Pork, 1 Rib, the Macaroni Salad, some of her Beans and the Turkey. We both were happy with our meals. As some of the Reviewers have mentioned, they have 2BBQ Sauces, one milder than the other. My Daughter chose the mild sauce and i chose the spicier one — but it’s really not very spicy, but has a good flavor. I had decided to bring my Husband home ‘The Bulldozer’ for dinner before I ever left the house. My Husband owns 2 Smokers and LOVESBBQ’d Meats. And one of my favorite Unilocalers had highly recommended it! Back to the counter, to place a ‘To Go’ order. I asked the young man to please put the sauce in a separate container. I didn’t want his sandwich to be soggy. ‘The Bulldozer’ has ¼ pound of Smoked Brisket, a slice of Smoked Turkey and a split Hot Link on a Hamburger Bun. I asked the young man how he recommended that I reheat it for my Hubby and he thought that the oven would dry it out and if I removed the bun heated it for 30 seconds and then reassemble it – it wouldn’t be soggy — so that’s what I did! I must say that it smelled DIVINE! I also got him an order of the Cole Slaw, because it’s very much like mine and I thought that he would like it. I left the Cole Slaw container in the bag with the hot sandwich and my Husband didn’t care for it lukewarm — but that was my fault. He said that had it have been cold, he would have eaten it. Here’s the things that I would change or consider changing. I don’t like Pepsi Products, but they do have Iced Tea — Sweetened and Unsweetened and a Lemonade. I think charging $ 1.99 for a small of chips is too much $$, I understand that they have to make a profit, but I stopped and picked up a bag on my way home for Hubby’s dinner. Lastly, as mentioned by other Reviewers — they need to add a few more side items. Definately a Small Salad OR maybe some Celery & Carrot Sticks. Macaroni & Cheese would be wonderful and so would some Collard Greens or Mustard Greens. I understand that hot sides are more difficult — but would seem more Dinner like and even if you charge another .50 cents or whatever for a ‘Hot Side’ that would make sense to me. Maybe only offer ‘Hot Sides’ after 3 pm.

Love the ribs with mild sauce. Had the coleslaw, a lil onion flavored for me, but it was okay. Meat was just right tenderness. Cashier was friendly. It was Self service and food came fast.
