Bottlenecks has not been open since November. Are they closed for good? Does anyone know?

I can only speak to the wings. Went here on Tuesday which is AYCE wing night. If you don’t want AYCE, then they take $ 2 off the price of a doz. I got a doz. parmesan and my wife got a doz. hot at $ 6.95 per. Both were tasty, done right and served in a timely fashion. The inside of the place is inviting with dark wood and big screen TVs in the bar area. The service was prompt and friendly. I would have given 5 stars except for the policy of charging $ 1.06 extra for bleu cheese and celery. Also, the wings come out with sauce on the side. There is an additional charge to have the wings«tossed». Ridiculous. I don’t know anyone who likes those kinds of shakedowns and suggest management abandon the practice. That said, my overall experience was a positive one. B+.

Happy hour is great for drinks and they also have $ 1 burgers all day on Thursdays

A worthy addition to downtown Wilkes-Barre’s many restaurant/bars. Sometimes the service here is slow, but the food is generally worth the wait. The delicious chicken wings, award winning hamburgers — even the steak — all have been great. However, if you are ordering a sandwich I would advise passing on the French fries. For some reason Bottleneck’s is very stingy when it comes to the fries.

I stopped in here with hubby before a movie. It was Thursday night: $ 1 burger night. The burger wasn’t huge, but it wasn’t a tiny slider either. The toppings are about 50 cents each to add on to the basic burger and lettuce on a bun. I also had a $ 7 appletini that was really delicious. The bacon wrapped scallops appetizer is so so good! I’d highly recommend that to anyone; well cooked bacon and tasty garlic butter! The hubs had onion rings as well that were actually quite delicious, which means a lot coming from me(onion hater). The waitress wasn’t super warm and friendly, but she wasn’t a total bi@tch either. I have already recommended this place to others, and I definitely want to come back. The prices and daily specials are awesome, and I think I could drink here again too. :) Yay!

Awesome food. I find myself eating here several times a week. Cannot beat the prices. Try the wings and homemade potato chips.

I don’t five star often, but I just had dinner there and it was awesome. I had the crab stuffed steak with garlic mashed and broccoli, and the cheese steak fries. It was great. The food was wonderful and service impeccable. Plus it’s nice to see an inexpensive restaurant on public square. I never thought I would. I’m 100% satisfied.

If you have time to waste and a side of attitude with your lunch then this is the place for you! I have never experienced such terrible service in my life. Why even bother to be open for lunch if you’re not going to have enough waitstaff and kitchen support to handle the downtown lunch rush. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Good luck Bottlenecks, you’re going to need it.

Stopped here after a Penguins game and I was very very satisfied. Ordered the pulled pork with Fries and yes its was amazing. The atmosphere here is amazing and the place is great for large groups. My friend got the bottleneck burger and that tooo looked amazing. Def going to stop again.

The wings are very good here. So is the soup. I was never here during happy hour or on a busy night so I can’t comment on that. For lunch it’s very good though.

I went here for lunch. The service was prompt and friendly. I liked the atmosphere and layout of the place. The salad was very fresh but nothing special. I’d go back but I’ll be looking forward to the cold beer more than the average food.

Slow service and rude waitstaff! My wife and I had just moved into the area the previous day, and after catching a flick nearby, wandered over to find something to eat. Unfortunately, it seems most places that aren’t fast food are closed Sundays, but we heard another couple with the same issue, but they had heard of Bottlenecks, so we all wandered over there. First, the couple ahead of us were seated immediately, no sign by the door, and when the waitress noticed us, told us to just have a seat anywhere. Not bad, yet. The waitress took a good five minutes before even coming over to us with menus and place settings. We both ordered water and my wife also ordered a Margarita. Took another five minutes just to bring water, and as we had already decided and were ready to order, the waitress didn’t even stop to ask if we were ready, she just dropped off the water and went directly to another table without even a simple, «I’ll be with you in just a moment.» It wasn’t until the waitress came back around with my wife’s margarita that she deigned to take our order. Simple enough, we ordered a burger and a chicken quesadilla. Nothing too difficult, except perhaps for this incompetent group. We waited 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes later(and this was by far NOT a busy night, as barely a quarter of the tables, including the bar, were filled and there were 3 waitresses, plus a bartender all on duty). By this point, we were very hungry and the waitress had not even stopped by to apologize for the wait or offer any explanation. We dropped five dollars on the table for the margarita and left. We wandered down one way for a minute or two, then backtracked and started back past Bottlenecks and about a ½ block away, the waitress, showcasing a complete lack of decorum and customer service skills, came running outside and yelled down the block if we were going to pay for this. We yelled back that we paid the $ 5 for the margarita, she should have considered herself lucky we paid for that. The waitress then yelled back what about the food the she had just delivered to our table. We didn’t eat it and sure as hell not going to pay for it. The waitress then gave the final discourtesy of yelling to not come back, as if that would have been an issue after the shoddy service we received. Plan next is to call the owner and suggest he train his staff for better speed of service and customer service, as word is already spreading around Wilkes-Barre about the lack of customer service at that establishment, and seems doomed to eminent closure.

I LOVE this place! Everything that I have tried has be very good. The food is pretty typical of bar food, but very good for the Wilkes-Barre area. The wings are very crispy and very good. I also recommend the Bottleneck’s Bull Burger. The servers are very friendly and helpful. They have gotten much better as the bar has been open longer. This is a great place to grab a beer or dinner. I absolutely recommend it!

My wife and I visited bottlenecks last night for dinner. We wanted to try the new place out. First, I want to say that the food was excellent. We had an order of wings and they were amazing. My wife had a cheesesteak wrap and I had a burger and both were great as well. The most disappointing part of our visit was the service. It was as though there was no direction. My wife and I sat down at a table, after seating ourselves as you do in this establishment. We stood by the table for a couple minutes because it was not cleared yet and after watching serval servers walk past us without acknowledgement we sat and after a few more minutes I had asked a server if we could get menus and the table cleared. During this wait and during our long wait for our food we had watched people come in and sit and after several minutes of waiting as we had to they had gotten up and left. When we entered, every table was full but by the time we left, around 8, many were now empty and not cleared. Our server was very personable and I felt she knew that people were not being served very well. I wish the owner luck and hope they are able to spend time in this location to turn things around quickly. I am sure that if this does not happen quickly that the place will be finished before summer. I would not choose to eat here again because of the frustration with the wait and I bet the people that walked out after sitting at a table and waiting may not go back either. It is a shame because the food was excellent and the place is nice but they are losing patrons due to lack of organization.

Tuesday = all you can eat wing night for $ 10.00(i think) or $ 2.00 off a dozen($ 6.00). Couple friends and I went for wings. I was told the wings are great. So, tried them out and yes I agree. I never really liked dry wings, except at KFC. All wings are served dry with the sauce on the side unless requested otherwise($ 0.59 upcharge). Wings are very crispy. Service is friendly. Atmosphere like your typical bar scene that serves food. They have a self serve tap. Swipe you credit card with the bartender and you can refill you drinks all night by yourself. It’s a pay by the oz deal. Cool, huh? Who wouldn’t like this? You’ll never have to wait for service again.

First of all, any place that has a bottle wing sauce and tabasco on the table is going to win me over pretty quickly. I always ask for it at restaurants and it’s nice to not have to. Ketchup lovers always have THEIR favorite condiment readily available. what about hot heads? Hmmm? Anyway… I visited Bottlenecks for lunch with my coworkers yesterday and all of us enjoyed our meals. I had the chicken fingers with a side of Fire sauce(very good, but not very hot). You would think that it is difficult to make a bad chicken finger, but Rodano’s has proved that this is indeed possible. Bottlenecks, on the other hand, presented me with four perfect fingers and fresh, crispy fries. I’m really quite happy this place is here because my coworkers and I usually hit up Rodano’s whose food has been lacking in quality in the last year or so. Because of this, unless we want pizza, we have been driving out of the city for lunch. I can’t say what this place is like after the work day, but I do know I’ll be back for my lunch break!

I think this place has a lot of potential, and I will update this review once I try their food. However, they got off to a bad start for me! A bunch of us were going to grab dinner here on Saturday(the first Saturday they’d be open). We were all looking forward to trying it, but then we got to the door at 8:05PM and saw a sign saying their kitchen was closing at 8 that night but will normally be open til I think it’s midnight. Why would you not be open after 8 on your first Saturday in business?! Anyway, we eventually made our way back here around midnight as the bar was staying open until 2. The bartenders were helpful and explained how their self-serve beer taps worked(it seems like a pain in the ass to be honest, though). We all had a good time though and it is much nicer and quieter than the surrounding bars. I hope it stays that way and I hope the food is good enough to keep me coming back, too.
