This is a wonderful place to get Sunday brunch(they also do take-out)! Whenever I could, I would get their omelet and a side of fruit. They have the best omelets I’ve ever had. Their jazz night is also well worth checking out.

One of the best meals we had on this trip. Great food and service. Won’t be disappointed.

Extraordinarily overpriced and pretentious. Food was good; not the best I’ve ever had, but good. GF and I shared the steak special, which was described as a «14oz cut of sirloin served with scalloped potatoes and grilled asparagus» for $ 35. Potatoes were good and asparagus was good and the steak tasted really good, but we had to fight through probably 5 oz of fat and gristle. When I mentioned it to the waitress, she said«Well, you know that cut is supposed to have a lot of fat in it», as if somehow she had described it as a «14oz cut of fatty steak», as opposed to a «14oz cut of sirloin». There are plenty of nice restaurants in Williamsburg where you can get a good, elegant meal with great service for a fair price. Blue Talon Bistro is NOT one of them.

We just stopped in for cocktails. They make a good Bloody Mary and the snacks they put out on the bar, pork rinds with a very tasty catsup, were a wonderful change of pace.

Great restaurant and atmosphere. Their New York Strip is very tender. Also, the Mac and Cheese is fabulous! I tried my brother Mahi Mahi and it was well prepared with great texture. I would highly recommend Blue Talon if your are in the Williamsburg area.

This review deserves every last bit of 5 stars!!! The restaurant is very very nice — beautiful area and beautifully done restaurant. Fantastic variety — even the desert menu! Service is on point! It may seem a bit pricey but believe me when I say it is worth every last penny! Had the Chicken & Mushroom Crepes and the Brown Sugar ice cream! Soooooo good!!! I rarely get this carried away about a restaurant but this one is PHENOMENAL — please eat here if you’re passing through the area! You won’t be disappointed!

I had breakfast here with my family. The food was well prepared and simply delicious! It was a pleasure being here! The service was beyond friendly. Our waitress, ZZ was adorable, helpful, and gave us her full attention. If you are visiting Williamsburg you must make a point to visit this restaurant. I am sure you won’t be disappointed! I will definitely return!

My fiancé and I were visiting from out of town and looking for a nice restaurant for dinner. This place was everything and more of what we could have asked for. The atmosphere is cozy and the service was great. We were greeted with a bottle of historic tap water that was delicious and bread and butter. Their wine selection is great. We ended up settling with a pitcher of the house red wine which was delicious. I was a little disappointed at first because I read the menu off of Unilocal and had my heart set on the duck which is only a Tuesday night special. I ended up getting the seared scallops with black dirty rice and asparagus. Absolutely melt in your mouth delicious! My fiancé got the 14oz New York strip which was the steak of the day with asparagus l, sautéed mushrooms and red roasted potatoes. He said it was one of the top 5 best steaks he’s ever had. We will definitely be returning if we are ever in Williamsburg again. So yummy!

Excellent chicken crepes. Homemade chicken stock, so no MSG from bouillon cubes. Hubby had French Tartine. He loved it. Crispy banquette. Pork had a light sweet flavor. We will definitely be back when we are in the area.

Two of us went at 7PM on a Friday night and a wait was to be expected. We waited for about 30 minutes for a 2 person table, but was the perfect amount of time to let Christine, the sole bartender, make us a few delicious cocktails. Seriously, as a cocktail connoisseur, I was impressed. Once we were seated and food was ordered, we concluded that the food was ok and the drinks were the best part, but we definitely overpaid for both. The prices are more aligned for a big city, but overall, it was a good experience — best that we had in Williamsburg.

Too expensive for frequent visits by locals. If you have a Blue Talon gift card, make sure the waiter/waitress gives you change. The last time I used one, I was told that the gift card didn’t entitle me to change. That is against the law. I had to ask several times for a manager, and that didn’t work. I had to get in touch with the owner(s), who did reimburse me(at my demand) with a $ 25 gift certificate for my trouble. However, the food itself is great. Overall, this restaurant has great food but at expensive prices. On another note, the food is great.

Solid 3.5 stars. I’ve been here a couple of times for breakfast/brunch. Each time, it’s been decent. The last time I went, I had the burger with an egg on it. It was delicious and very filling. It was a little more than I would have liked to spend on brunch($ 14 dollars for a burger), but it was good enough that I would probably do it again. Service is okay. Our last waitresses was a little weird in the beginning, but slowly warmed up to us. The hostess makes you wait a while. They seem to be the one who sets up the table too with water glasses and what not? I’m not too sure, but the last time we were there, we just stood there while two of the hostess’ walked back and forth from the kitchen to the hostess stand. Like most places in Williamsburg, they have a weird 45 minute period in between breakfast and brunch where they only serve coffee and pastries. I did get an Original Sin cocktail off their Sunday Bar menu. It was good, but it was a little underwhelming. It came in a plain glass without any garnish and tasted like it was just pear juice. Eh. It also cost $ 12.50. For a Sunday morning cocktail with barely any alcohol. That cost more than my tequila cocktail at dinner the night before. Just no. The area is super cute and pleasant. If I was in the area, I wouldn’t mind stopping by for breakfast or brunch(but not in between 10:15−11 am because of their weird 45 minute period break) if someone wanted to. But it’s not one of my first choices, that’s for sure.

Just had a wonderful dinner for two. The steak frites was well seasoned and the Parmesan fries were quite tasty. The butter chicken was both tasty and juicy and the risotto was very very nice. The BTB red wine was decent, what you would expect for a $ 35 wine in a restaurant Expensive but you get what you pay for

We tried Blue Talon on a Sunday afternoon before we went into Williamsburg. My wife had the real winner, an open face pot roast sandwich with roasted vegetables. It was absolutely delicious. Our guest had the chicken and mushroom crêpe that he enjoyed very much. I had the Chicken fried steak that was just okay — there were just too many flavors that just did not work well together! Chicken fried steak, ham gravy, cheese, grits and eggs just did not work. Service was very good too. We will definitely go back.

We had a lovely dinner this past weekend at the Blue Talon while in Williamsburg. We picked it thanks to other Unilocalers mentioning it in their reviews, so thanks for that, guys! Our server, whose name I did not catch, was very helpful and paid good attention to us without being intrusive. The(manager? owner?) was also kind enough to answer questions about the ‘forbidden black rice’ that came with the scallops. The colonel and I started with the mixed local greens, fabulous! I ordered the pan seared salmon with green lentils, tomatoes and cucumbers with crème fraîche, as that was a little different. It was quite tasty, though there were a few too many tomatoes for my taste, and they were cooked in with the lentils(I had expected more of a salsa/salad type presentation atop the salmon with the cucumber). The colonel ordered the aforementioned scallops, which he said were delicious and the Sprossling had French onion soup and the crepes with mushrooms, asparagus, and chicken. Sadly, we had noshed on gratis Doubletree cookies about an hour before leaving for dinner, so we were not able to try any desserts. They have an extensive and well organized wine list, as well as several draft beers. It looked like there was also a full bar, but I can’t confirm. The setting was very pretty, and everything was quite comfortable. I liked that the chairs were padded and had arms and a scooped back. Next time we are in town, we will make it back!

The family and I were looking forward to a wonderful meal and evening at the Blue Talon but didn’t quite achieve that. We arrived early for our dinner reservation on a busy graduation week-end and grabbed a couple of seats at the bar for the wait. The bar was quite charming with a Julia Child documentary playing on the TV. The lady bartenders behind it were quite attentive and welcoming. There were several beers I had not heard of on tap along with Stella and several wines available by the glass. Our wait passed quickly and we were soon seated at our table. They conveniently group their bottles of wine into price categories(i.e. $ 33, $ 44 etc.) making it easy to pick based on your wallet and what you are looking to drink. We ordered a Hermitage for the table but skipped on an appetizer as nothing really caught our eye. Instead I ended up splitting a chopped salad with my wife that was tasty but a little bit sloppy for my tastes in terms of excess dressing. For my main, I ordered the daily steak selection which was a rib-eye. It arrived served in a black skillet along with mushrooms, tomatoes and toasted bread. While the steak was cooked to my preferred medium-rare temperature, the cut of meat was disappointing and fattier than I like even for a rib eye. The mushrooms and tomatoes though were lovely and paired with our side order of yummy mac and cheese made the meal more enjoyable. Table service was a bit spotty and at times we were looking around for our server to refill our drinks. While it was busy, it seemed like they had enough folks working there to keep up. I thought for what we got here that their prices were a little on the high side.

In the words of David Cassidy… Blue Talon Bistro, I think I love you! DH and I chose to celebrate our anniversary at the Blue Talon and are absolutely thrilled we did. Everything about our evening here was incredibly delicious and special. To start off our wonderful meal, we chose the fois gras and mussels. The fois gras was served with toast points, cornichons and a jam that the waitress explained was made in-house from the fruit of the mustard plant. Most usual but very delicious. The mussels were prepared in the traditional French way with a white wine, butter and lemon broth. Yum! For the main event, I could not decide between the short ribs or the liver. Ultimately, I went for the liver, which came with mashed potatoes and asparagus. In addition to be perfectly prepared, it was a most generous helping and I had difficulty finishing it after indulging on two starters. DH decided to be very adventurous by ordering the«Pied de Cochon»(Pig Trotters or Pig’s Feet). I had no idea what to expect. But the DHLOVED it. From the bite I was able to steal, it was incredible and I would not hesitate to order it on my next visit. This came with a lovely side salad that DH was especially impressed with home-made dressing. The right balance of a tang. Throughout the meal, we enjoyed top-notch service. Attentive and thoughtful, without being intrusive. Just the right balance. The atmosphere is lovely. I especially enjoyed the continuous loop of Julia Child playing on the TV in the bar. In all, this is a special place, worthy of a special occasion or any time you want a great meal. But it is very popular, so you might want to make a reservation.
