I am only reviewing the soft serve ice cream. Best in Williamsburg! Order at the window and«clean it up» on a picnic table seating outside. Price is right. No frills.

We’ve come here for years. We only get the soft-serve ice cream, which is awesome. I see other people order all kinds of burgers, so I have to assume they’re good. The place looks scary but don’t let that put you off. I don’t think they’ve painted it or even replaced a light bulb since maybe the 1950’s, but who cares. It keeps the costs down. If you believe, as I do, that the best food comes from hole-in-the-wall places, this one’s for you.

Queen Anns is a drive up with some of the best soft serve Ice Cream in the 757. Burgers and hot dogs are good too! Don’t just a book by its cover… The staff at Queen Anns is always friendly, and this place is a favorite for my family!

Queen Anne Dary-Snak, a little carry-out place, has been around since the ‘50s. A local favorite for subs, sandwiches, short orders, daily specials, and ice cream, you can see people flock up to get some orders in to either to-go or to dine at one of the picnic tables outside. I tried their Chili Cheese Dog, the Steak & Cheese, and grape ice cream. The Chili Cheese Dog had a nice juicy all-beef dog, which was actually quite tasty. The chili itself was pretty okay(housemade), but the hot dog bun itself was stale T___T The Steak & Cheese(which came with a side of fries that were pretty okay), I was disappointed with, as it came in a hamburger bun, and the meat itself was not seasoned and it was just not tasty. The ice cream was pretty good, but rather than a full-on grape ice cream, it just had small amount of grape syrup drizzled in(I think you’d just be better off getting vanilla or chocolate). Adrian, who was working up at the front, was very personable and quite awesome! He did suggest to try the Jumbo Bar B-Que, but since we weren’t in the mood, we’ll try that out next time. We met a friendly local, Otis, and had a nice long chit-chat with him: D A very cute little place, I’d love to go back and try out their other items on the menu: D +Chili Cheese Dog(ask for fresh buns!) +ask for Adrian: D

This is a local haunt and somewhat of a hidden treasure. If you are an ice cream fan, you will love them. They have the swirly soft-serve. It is not unusual to see folks on their way home from work drop off and grab a huge cone for everyone, The second best thing there is the French fries. They give you a large portion(but you have to request extra ketchup). The service is made to order so if you are in a hurry, call ahead. Lastly, I like the barbecue they serve. It is different and tangy. It has changed a little over the years but a great find just the same.

I don’t know what the food is like but my husband and I stopped for icecream and were very disapointed. Because it was obvious that it was not icecream but ice milk. Big difference to any one who knows icecream. Not only did it not have a nice creamy taste but it was so soft it dripped like water down my husbands shirt.

This place is definitely a whole in the wall but the had some all alright chicken. I thought I ordered BBQ but Iv was given fried. It may have been my fault. I had to go go to work so I didn’t say anything. I couldn’t identify one of the pieces. Having said that i will go back and give it another shot.

One of the few great local places in williamsburg. You can make the shakes in combination flavors. Takes a sec for the food to come out but its so worth it. Great drive in feel. The perfect fast food snack meal, way better than the mcdonalds down the street

Shut this place down! As you saw in some of my photos I’ve uploaded this place does not know a thing about food handling. The quality and every else has continued to decline. I felt sick after I ate here recently and I will never eat here again. This place is a sinking ship. Please stay clear.

This is a roadside ice-cream/drive-in place with picnic tables on the outside. Malts and shakes are excellent and reasonably priced. We tried the crabcake and it was quite good and again resonably priced. Overall a very nice inexpensive drive-in with a terific variety of soft serve ice cream, shakes, malts and foods. As a bonus it is open pretty late.

I can’t speak to the food, but the milkshakes and malts here are incredible. I just got back from a trip to NYC and had both chocolate and peanut butter malts at the Shake Shack. They were excellent, but I’d still take a chocolate malt from the Queen Anne Dairy Snack over them. Seriously, the Queen Anne Dairy Snack has the best chocolate malts in Virginia, and you’d never know it by looking at it. This place has been around *forever*, as evidenced by a window sticker for the«W&M Indians»(a name that was phased out in … what … the early ‘80s?) over the order window. The Queen Anne Dairy Snack(I thought it was«Snak,» btw, but maybe I made that up) is a sweet hole-in-the-wall place. Don’t expect your food(or shake) quickly, but use the time waiting to chat with other locals hanging out in front.

Stopped by after a morning at Busch Gardens based on the Unilocal review. old school, sit outside on the picnic table & wait while they make the food kind of place. low prices — portions are smaller than you’re used to seeing at a Burger King(it’s probably the same portion size they’ve been serving for 30 years). We had a nice assortment of some different items.

The Queen Anne doesn’t look like much, but it offers tasty drive-in food at a price that your wallet will appreciate. I most frequently meet friends there for a quick, low-key lunch and we enjoy just relaxing at one of the picnic tables for a few minutes. It can get busy at lunchtime Monday-Friday, so you may want to call in your order, especially if it is for a larger group. The Queen is the sort of place where the staff remembers you and what your«usual» is pretty quickly. When dining meatless, the grilled cheese is satisfying and the mound of cheese fries have overwhelmed even my hungriest dining companion. The small hamburger is indeed small, but as someone who doesn’t want to fall asleep after too heavy of a lunch, the size is perfect for me. Everything is made to order, so you’ll never have hard, dry onion rings(*cough* Sonic *cough*) and you can watch the staff blend your shakes/malts in the window with a handmixer. In addition to the usual flavors, there are several shake options that you wouldn’t necessarily expect at a small drive-in like cherry, coffee, nut, etc. Overall, there is nothing fancy about the Queen, but it is without a doubt a local business I take pleasure in patronizing whether for a meal or a root beer float on a hot day. The handwritten signs and postings about locals and local businesses in the front window also provide an appreciated personal touch. Why would you stop for reheated fast food when you could have this?
