Dinner last night with 4 friends. Service as usual was prompt and enthusiastic. Water guy and server could not have been more helpful or solicitous. Unfortunately, the food did not match up. I have eaten here numerous times and I guess what bothers me most is the inconsistency of food quality. For starters, we are served mediocre bread and this awful flatbread that was so full of anise even my licorice lovers would cringe. The dipping sauce, which was raved about by the staff, was nothing more than a red pepper jarred spaghetti sauce(which by the way was a terrible match for anise flavored crackers). An old foodie friend of mine has always told me to judge a restaurant based on two things initially – the friendliness of the server and the quality of the bread. So far they’re at 50%. Next come the appetizers, a motley assortment of really blasé bar food basically – completely flavorless artichokes(not even a lemon squeeze could help), serviceable scallops, and some fried mozzarella that I could have made at home. The portions were each barely enough for two and I was trying to feed 5 people! When we all decided that what we’d had wasn’t near enough, we asked for the Ricotta loaf with honey. This was an almost redemptive experience as the house made ricotta hit all the right notes of slightly sweet and salty, beautifully accented with a rustic honey that, combined on new, better crusty bread, was a delight. The mark of the inadequacy of our first round of apps was the gusto and happiness with which this last one was voraciously consumed. Some time later our entrees arrived. Filet done properly to my guest’s request – not the best steak he ever had but«good»; another guest’s much ballyhooed«red“fish(really a white fish) was bland and tasteless, quite a a letdown from the host’s and server’s raves. Next a steak that also seemed just adequate and a piece of snapper which its consumer said was«ok». My entrée, a «Benny» pizza, touted as a great option from a friend who’d had it before, was a salty, terrible mess – the crust was thin and crunchy(as any true wood fired oven will make crust) but then it’s truly all about the toppings — way over salty combination: the cheese was salty; the olives were salty; the artichokes were salty; the peppers were salty. If I’d thought about it, I would have scraped off those toppings and added some ricotta from earlier for a much tastier bite. Finally, the«Brookie» dessert(a brownie wrapped around a cookie – what’s not to like?) was enjoyed by all. Combined with typically jacked up bottles of wine(which were good, but marked up 70%), it was an underwhelming meal from start almost to finish. For service, this place gets – and has always gotten – A+ from me. But for a special night out, or just a regular visit, the food has got to be excellent every time. This was a swing and a miss. Will be a while before I venture back, especially with a group of friends.

Great dinner last night with two girlfriends. The gentleman who sat us was super welcoming and friendly. We started with cocktails… which are a bit pricey. A great many of the featured cocktails include Triple Sec which I thought for the price you pay could be traded out for a far better choice. My French Pear though was very good. For my entrée I requested an entrée size portion of the parmesan risotto appetizer and the chef was very accommodating. It was mixed with grilled asparagus and it was a great gluten free option. Truffle fries also very good. Service was very prompt. Terrific night!

I LOVE800 Maple! I’ve been here many times and as usual, my dinner last weekend did not disappoint. Not only was the food delicious, the drinks are great as well. They have a great selection of wines and lots of fun cocktails to choose from. I usually end up sitting in the bar area, either right at the bar or there is a really nice table by the fireplace. No matter where you choose to sit, the ambience is lovely. You can sit at a table in the dining room where it’s more intimate or in the bar area where it could be a little more casual. I’ve gone with just two people and even with 17 and they can definitely accommodate the big party! It is obvious they really care about quality service. The bartender is always kind and friendly, they are patient and willing to assist in making your wine or drink choice. The servers are also great. In fact, for my large birthday dinner party here, I think our server was one of the best waitresses I have ever had! Devon was able to handle all 17 of us perfectly, making sure each and every one of us was happy. She was super sweet to me, knowing it was my birthday and making me feel special for the day with extra attention. Little things, like making sure I got first shot at each appetizer and keeping my wine glass full at all times, she definitely paid attention to detail. We had my grandparents at one end and children at the other, she was very patient with them all. She just seemed so genuinely happy and like she really wanted us to have the best experience, it was really nice! The food is always excellent. They give you a crunchy flat bread and«pizza» bread to start which is really nice, and more unique than a regular bread and oil. I usual get the same appetizers; the stuffed peppers are nice and cheesy, the calamari has a yummy thai chili sauce. They have great, original sides too. The parmesan risotto is delicious. I love that you can get lobster mac & cheese as a side. The truffle fries are really good too, I love truffle! With all those apps and sides, I decided to have a salad as an entrée. The spinach salad with apples, dried cherries, maytag bleu, spiced pecans & maple dressing was very good. All the textures worked very well together, and I added grilled chicken. I know every person at the table was happy with their meal! I have to say, I’ve never had a bad experience here. I can’t wait to come in and try the brunch!

I took my mom to this place for brunch yesterday. It was a Sunday and in Buffalo that means that unless you’re a sports fan, you’re probably empty during a Bills game. It was a cool atmosphere and the staff was very friendly. They had an option to ‘Design Your Own Bloody Mary’; which was pretty amazing. Adding my own apple-smoked bacon to a spicy Bloody Mary was just what I needed while listening to my mom talk about my upcoming wedding nuptials. The drink was fantastic and not too strong, which I preferred. My mom ordered the Chicken Quesadilla, which she informed was very good; though they packed a lot of onions in it and she picked it out. I had myself the Italian Giambotta, which was eggs, sausage, peppers, toast, and marinara sauce. Marinara for breakfast you ask? Yes, and it was delicious. The waitress also offered us free fruit and baked goods. Basically the selection you’d get at a Holiday Express, but the gesture was nice.

Perfect dinner as always. Some of the best pizza in town and they are so much more than that. We also had the cavatelli and it was the best we have had. Great wine selection of wine paired with great professional service and ambience.

This was my second time brunching at 800 Maple. I had made reservations for my mother’s birthday via Open Table, though when we arrived, I was surprised there were only a few other tables occupied. Our waitress was very attentive and came over right away to take our drink orders. I noticed there were quite a few other servers on hand, presumably should things pick up and get busier. Their brunch menu had changed slightly from last time we were there; they had a lot of summery options such as Maryland crab cakes and braised short ribs, both served with fried eggs. I had gotten the Belgian waffle last time so I went with that again, knowing how yummy it was. It was slightly dry on its own, but with the fresh fruit and light drizzle of maple syrup, it was delicious. The others in my group ordered mimosas and prosecco, however, their brunch drink menu was very extensive, and seemed to offer more than the brunch basics. They also offer complementary pastries up near the bar area, so we enjoyed a small selection of pastries, muffins and fruit before our meals came out. One thing that annoyed me was when I went to use the restroom I had to walk right by the kitchen area, and the numerous other staff members were all lingering by the entranceway, so I had to skirt around them to get by(they were slightly in the way and made no attempt to move). This clearly does not reflect the quality of food or service, just an odd occurrence that I thought should have been avoided. Overall, I’m very happy with our brunch experience at 800 Maple. I guess the next step will be to come back for dinner!

This place is one of the best! The bar with its outstanding bartenders to menu is really a. place you will be coming back to. Anything on the menu is a «home run» from the chicken, the beef or pizza you can’t make a mistake.

We went there twice. Love their pizza, we always order at least one pizza. The one I love the most is Alexa~flank steak, mushrooms, sundried tomato, caramelized onions, spinach & asiago. But their other food with that price range was just average. It won’t give me like wow this is really good, i want more. Only the pizza Alexa will do lol

I’m going on record and declaring their Eggs Benedict one of the best I’ve ever had. The eggs were poached PERFECTLY, which I think is hard to get really right, but the chef here nailed that. Poached eggs walk a fine line between gross and runny, and tender and perfectly firm. These were tender and perfectly firm. She/he would have won this quick fire challenge on Top Chef. I actually ordered the Eggs Chesapeake, which was over 2 delicious crab cakes. May also be the best crab cakes I’ve ever had locally. Delicious flavor, REAL and plentiful crab meat. Yum. The hollandaise too was a work of art. Just perfect, velvety, so very good. The breakfast potatoes on the side were decent. Not mind blowing but not bad. I would have preferred them more crispy and without the greek-ish dressing on them, which clashed with the flavor of that beautiful velvety hollandaise that was also on the plate. I ordered a bloody mary too. They start at $ 5.50. By the time I added a slice of bacon and a vodka upgrade, it cost me 2 extra bucks. I would have loved some additional goodies but I think it can all add up quickly. What I would prefer is just a flat charge of like $ 10, already loaded with some delicious stuff. For Mother’s Day brunch(I don’t know if this is a regular thing), they had pastries and fruit up by the bar. It seemed kind of random, and people were actually picking through the bowl of fruit salad to get what they wanted. Some guy walked away with a plate full of grapes, so there were none left in the salad. SMH. Savage buffet behavior. I bet that guy takes all of the crab legs at the Chinese buffet too. HA! Offer fruit on the side of each meal and a basket of pastries brought to the table instead. The banana bread was well done, but surprisingly moist and delicious. The servers were all awesome with water refills and pretty attentive overall. Our server was the Amherst, NY version of Jax Taylor from Vanderpump. He looked a lot like him, but seemed nicer. If he’s anything like the real Jax, I’m sure he’ll find a sassy cougar at 800, which is what the clientele seems to be– cougars, older couples. If you’re at the bar some night when they have a live band playing you will witness some pretty interesting dirty dancing. I saw a couple in their 50s making out in a car in the parking lot, in fact. Definitely a bit smarmy. I think 800 Maple was produced and directed by Aaron Spelling.

Very good pizza. My fiancé and I tried the pizza. She had the gluten free pizza and it was amazing. I ordered the Louie pizza and it was fantastic. Prices are definitely high but thats to be expected since it is an upscale restaurant. Very cool ambience and servers are very friendly and knowledgeable. The only problem was that the service was a bit slow at times. We went on a busy friday night. I would love to try the entrees but they were a bit out of my price range.

Went for an early snack and cocktail. The restaurant is beautiful and clean. The bar is fun and has a great atmosphere. The bartender was very friendly and knowledgeable. He made conversation and was engaging. Based on my drink order he recommended a different liquor and he nailed it. It took my favorite cocktail up a notch with a little change! ! Have a great cocktail menu with some fun drinks. Would love to try the. All! Great wine selection also. Prices are excellent! Their wood fire pizzas all sound amazing love the one we got with goat cheese spinach was excellent. I was really surprised by the size of the pizza especially with the great price! Also got the calamari that comes with a little bib lettuce salad and a reallt great thai sauce! Took two desserts home. A flourless chocolate tort and a peanut butter pie. Both were mediocre. Honestly the flpurless torte fell flat to me. Dylce makes the most amazing one ive ever had. They set the bar high Overall great experience cant wait to go back

Great Place, been here twice. And I absolutely love the atmosphere. First time around, I had the Pizza Louie. Which was awesome. Thin Crispy Crust, Banana Peppers, Roasty Balsamic Chicken. Really good. Both dinners have started out with warm bread and«Pizza» Flatbread” Which I think is just Garlic and Oregano. Either way, crisp and delicious. Is served with a chunky Roasted Red Pepper and Tomato Pesto, which is super flavorful. I really enjoyed it. This past visit, I had the Flat Iron Steak with Goat Cheese Polenta, Tomato-Fennel Jam and Sautéed Broccoli Raub. The steak, while seasoned really well. Was quite tough. I had it cooked Medium-Rare. Which after my visit, I was informed by my better Chef friends that a Flat Iron Steak shouldn’t be cooked under Medium, which could lead to it being tougher(Good to know). But without knowing that. I attribute it’s tough texture to the way it was cut… a tri-cut down the width of the whole steak. Possibly with the Grain? Not sure. But it was seasoned well. And was accompanied by the BESTPOLENTA I’VEEVEREATEN. Creamy, smooth, and the Goat Cheese flavor was very prominent. A Bite of Steak, scooped with Polenta, and some Tomato Jam… really exquisite bite! As an appetizer, had the Bahn-Mi Crab Cakes. They were good, wasn’t blown away by the flavor. But the pickled Cucumber and Spiced citrus aioli really carried the dish. Also…can’t stress this enough. Get a cocktail… if you don’t, you’re realllllllllllllllly missing out. The French Pear Martini is amazing. You really only need one, super strong, but not too strong for you to not want to finish it. Amazing Both visits there have been nothing short of outstanding. I love this place. The service is amazing and the food, consistently delicious! 4 ¼ /5 Stars

Decent food but the logo design looks way too much like a penis. It would be decent design for a gay bar or strip club but normally you don’t think penis when you want to eat food. That all I see on menus and advertisements, just the terrible 800 penis-like logo

Went there last Sunday for brunch. It’s not my first time, been there a few times n the foods were delicious. We were seated at a round table immediately without reservation. The position of the table was kind of odd. 1st table when u walk into the dinning room, it’s kind of like sitting in the middle of the hall way. The server came right away to take our orders. He was polite. Then when he went to the table next to us. We realized he introduced himself n Today’s Specials. Not to us. I’m not sure if it’s because we have kids at the table or we don’t look like we’ll be ordering Today’s Specials. We had some pastries before our meals, so there were little plates on the table. We have to stack the plates to make room for our meals. Throughout the whole entire time, the server didn’t even bother to take the empty plates back. KInd of crowded, not what i will expect in a fine restaurant. So the rating is base on that day’s service. Our meals were still great.

Very nice ambience! It’s casual but also very classy too. The service was very good too. They served complimentary homemade breadsticks and crackers that were seasoned so well! The presentation of the food was amazing. Here’s what I ate: Seared Scallops Appetizer: Some of the best scallops I’ve ever had. Seared and flavored with a maple syrup and served on top of a sweet potato purée and garnished with sweet potato chips. PHENOMENAL! Crispy Duck Breast: Beautiful presentation. Garnished with perfectly tender/crisp Brussel Sprouts. Tart cranberry relish. Duck was tender and the skin was flavorful,(not really crispy though). Truffle Fries: Fries drizzled with truffle oil. crispy thin cut fries. Perfect side dish!

I’ve gone here twice, mostly because a very good friend of mine worked here and I wanted to surprise him with a visit. The first time he wasn’t working as I came with my mom on a whim while we were out. The restaurant was almost empty, but it was great because I was underdressed(I didn’t realize how nice it was!). My mom and I were seated by a host who pulled out our chairs and made polite conversation. The food was incredible! I had some steak special… can’t remember what, but I remember feeling conflicted– because it was incredible and my mom offered to pay. Stop at the bank before you arrive! The second time I was here I came with my mom, brother, and friend, to celebrate my college graduation. I got a soup and salad, and my brother got one of their wood-fired pizzas. My brother does not get excited by much, but he loved his pizza. In fact, he told me 800 Maple is now one of his favorite places to eat and he visits fairly frequently after this dining experience. This is somewhere you want to go for a special occasion! I knocked it down because I sensed a bit of a ‘pretentious’ vibe and some of the servers had a very obvious, theatrical enthusiasm. Just a matter of opinion, though – a minor detail that wouldn’t prevent me from coming back!

Nice place to stop for a formal meal. Don’t go in expecting $ 20 steak cuts and $ 25 fish plates. Overall the food was good but just more pricey than I would have imagined from looking at the outside. Inside the decore is more american steakhouse meets southern Italy. A lot of dark woods but a more festive ceiling than a steakhouse would dare. The Scallops BLT was an awesome idea. The well cooked scallop with a bacon purée and endive worked very well. A pleasant Cesar salad followed that course. The main course, a roasted duck breast was also well prepared in a nice demi-glaze and a decent wild rice side. Service was unquestionable. You know your sever is on top of her game when you go through three bottles and it all feels natural. So I’d probably go here again for a dinner meant to impress. But if you just hanging with friends, this place may be a little much for what you are getting.
