Kirby Family Farm is ok for the little ones. What they are trying to do, is genius. Monster truck bus was a big let down it felt no different even to my 5 yr old than a regular bus ride. Driving the jelopy was pretty decent, but could have been longer. The train ride was nice. My kids loved being geld at gun point. My only complaint about the train would be two part, one my kid was on the wrong side to see it clearly and an explaination before hand that high values of gold were on board would have been better. Prices inside are a bit extream for what it is. Disney world prices at cheap fair ground attraction. Like I said at the beginning, the plan is genius. Built for kids, recycling outdated amusment park attractions. Just needs fine tuning.

Well worth the drive to Williston! The Christmas Express train event at Kirby Farm is only in it’s third year, but has already amassed quite the following. The centerpiece of the festival is the the train itself, an authentic train from the 1800s covered in Christmas lights. The ride on the train is a 30 minute trip around the fields and through woods decorated with light displays, while Christmas carols are played through it’s soundsystem. There are other things to do as well. There is a monster truck school bus also decked out in lights to ride in, children’s fair type rides, an outdoor movie screen playing Christmas movies, and lots of food/vendor booths. I had a great conversation with Mr Kirby about his plans for the future of this event. All of the proceeds have been going back into the event. The entire gate from the previous weekend was spent on more lights. He also has acquired the ferris wheel from Armstrong park in New Orleans that will go up next year. He wants this place to become a family tradition that people will continue to bring their children to year after year.
