Thank goodness I didn’t buy my dress here!!! For those that did-DEs attorney general is investigating the owner and her store for fraud. Action news reported the story.
I feel terrible for those that did. If you are out of a dress check out Anastasia’s burned brides on Facebook. Many of us including myself are loaning or donating our dresses for the big day.

Well it looks like only a month after I wrote my glowing review, the store is closed and is not responding to emails or phone calls. It’s looking like I won’t get the dress, veil, or belt I purchased and I won’t get a refund. There’s a special place in hell for the owners of this shop. The original review: Becca was wonderful to work with. She was attentive and had great suggestions. I believe the dress I ended up purchasing was one that she recommended and that my mother and I completely overlooked. She also did a great job with accessories — she picked out the perfect belt and veil to match my dress. I was very pleased with the variety of styles and sizes. This is not a bridal salon that only carries sample sizes; they have larger sizes so that a greater range of body types will be able to effectively try on dresses. I am an average-sized person, not a 2 not a 20, and I really appreciated being able to see how a dress would actually look on me if I purchased it. The store also carries reasonably-priced gowns, so you do not need to have a $ 3k+ budget to shop here. I do think the store could do a better job displaying its dresses for advertising purposes. When you first approach the salon, everything looks sort of… bland. It looks like you’re going to have to try on the same strapless dress you’ve seen on hundreds of brides for the past 10 years. But they have a nice variety! I tried on lots of different silhouettes, many of which were unique, interesting, and modern. I had a great experience and found my perfect dress!

On a whim one afternoon in October, my friends and I decided to pop into Anastasia’s Bridal to check out their bridal selection. I preferred to purchase my wedding gown from a small/local business as I personally feel the bigger chains lack customer service. We were greeted by Brittany, who was very pleasant and helpful. Well, it did not take long for me to fall completely in love with THEDRESS. We were quick to set up an appointment to have all of my bridesmaids there along with my mother. We returned the following week. That night I «Said Yes To The Dress». Again, Brittany was absolutely fantastic! Everything seemed perfect; we ordered my gown and veil that night. The problems did not begin until March/April. I received a call telling me my dress and veil were in and I set up an appointment to pick them up. Well, the day before I was supposed to get my dress and veil the owner of the shop, Luba, called me. She said that their credit card machine was broken and that if I wanted to pick up my dress still I would need to pay my balance in cash! I explained to Luba, that my mother was going to be paying for the remainder of my dress and that she intended on using her credit card. So I was then told that I would have to reschedule a pick up date. I told her while on the phone that the following Wednesday(1 week later) would be fine. Luba then told me that she would have to «check the schedule» and that she would get back to me. I NEVER heard back from her that day nor a portion of the next day. I had to call her and ask if the following Wednesday was okay. I was told it was fine without an apology for never calling me back. Throughout that weekend I noticed some bad reviews showing up on social media about this shop. Clearly, as a stressed out bride it only made me worry more about getting my dress and veil. So I called and asked if I could come sooner than Wednesday. I was told no as the credit card machine would not be fixed until at least Monday. HOWDOYOURUN A BUSINESSWITHOUT A WORKINGCREDITCARDMACHINE?! After being fed up with the run around from Luba I called that Tuesday morning to see if their CC machine was up and running. The girl who answered the phone has NOIDEA that the machine was ever broken! That was enough for me to worry about what was really going on. I immediately went to the shop and demanded my order. The ladies working were very nice and I was told that Luba was at jury duty. I put my dress on and it was perfect. I asked to put my veil on… the girls then told me that my VEILWASNOTTHERE. I was furious. Then appeared Luba, who was supposed to be at jury duty(but later on in another conversation told me she was at a doctor’s apt that day)! LIESLIESLIES! I was assured my veil would be in that Friday! I did not pay the balance as I was not willing to pay for something that I did not have in my possession. That Friday came, but my veil did not. I was then told it would take longer. The next due date arrived and AGAIN it did not show up. I was told that it had been damaged and a new one was being shipped. I explained to Luba my complete frustration with her and her shop and did not even offer an ounce of emotion nor an apology! So my veil was«definitely» going to be in this past Friday. Guess what didn’t show?! MYVEIL. I was told it was in PA and would be here the following day… but when I requested the shipping information it showed that the item didn’t even ship yet, but was coming via overnight mail. Again, with Luba’s lies. FINALLY, I received my veil on Saturday and through all of the non-sense I received a VERYSMALL discount! It is ashame that someone who lacks customer service skills and common emotions is a allowed to run a bridal shop! I hope no bride ever has to go through what I dealt with. Luba would be better off letting her employees run the shop as they have a personality and customer service skills. If Luba had been honest about the situations and not lied maybe I would not be as upset as I am, but I strongly believe that her machine was never broken and that my veil was never damaged the first time, but she just lied over and over! The dress and veil are stunning, but not worth the stress and anxiety I went through! Also, while researching my veil incase I had to order it myself I noticed that Anastasia’s Bridal was not even an authorized retailer of my veil brand! Which leads me to believe that she is ordering things from off the wall sites and that is why my veil took longer to get than my dress! Again, all of the employees were very nice and pleasant, but the owner was not. I would not recommend this place to another bride!

I did not wind up getting my dress here(although I would have if they carried the designer I purchased from) but I had a very positive experience overall. Making an appointment was easy– I went online and made my appointment through their website. I was promptly e-mailed confirming my appointment day and time and that was done! With other bridal shops it was not that easy and they were not as prompt as Anastasia’s. Additionally, they have the gowns they have in the shop on their website, which helpful. I went into my appointment and was greeted by a consultant. She told me to look around the store and pull any gown that piqued my interest, which I prefer. I don’t need anyone asking me what my «vision» is and what I like/dislike, because it’s hard for me to describe that. So I was thrilled to dive in and look at the dresses myself! When I selected the dresses I wanted to try on, the consultant directed me into a fitting room and stood outside until I needed to buttoned/zipped up and clipped. The lighting by the mirrors is a little dark, but not dark enough that you couldn’t really see anything. Consultant kind of stood off to the side and gave constructive comments about the dress when it was necessary. She wasn’t pushy but she wasn’t standoff-ish, either. I found a few gowns I liked that were in the running of «The One» but ultimately decided to go with an Allure gown, which is a designer they do not carry. Had they carried my dress I would have definitely gone with Anastasia’s. They have a wonderful selection of Maggie Sottero, Mikaella, and Pronovias. I highly suggest at least checking out their website to see if you like their inventory.

We had an absolutely terrific experience at this salon, and I am so glad we ignored the bad reviews. After a rough first 3 dress shops, we decided to stop in when an appointment opened up at Anastasia’s. The store was immaculate, there were tons if dresses from a variety of designers, the dresses were in normal sizes(majority were 8,10,12), and staff was readily available to help. After an hour and a half(our appointment was only for 1 hour on a Sunday evening) we found a dress AND a bridesmaid dress. 1stop shop and we are ready to go! Please ignore the negative reviews. This place more than exceeded our expectations. There was absolutely no charges for measurements, and we were even given a discount for getting both the wedding gown and bridesmaid dress at the store.

Really blown away by this store. I looked at three bridal salons in Philadelphia before coming to Anastasia’s. I was a little hesitant about making an appointment here because of previous Unilocal reviews but I decided to give it a shot. The dress selection was great, I pulled at least 10 dresses I liked and probably could have pulled more. Both Vera and Luba were extremely helpful in getting me in my dress as well as pulling dresses based on what I seemed to like. I never felt like they were trying to make a sale, but that they really wanted me to find something I would love to wear on my wedding day. They probably would have let me stay until midnight if it meant I found something. I found a stunning dress that made me feel really beautiful at a great price. In casually inspecting the bridesmaids dresses my sister found a dress she loved in less than 5 minutes so we bought that too. My experience here should be what every bride gets to experience when they look at dresses. They definitely earned 5 stars.

I can’t say anything about the bridal dresses here, but be warned, bridesmaids — if you aren’t purchasing your dress here, they charge $ 15 dollars for measurements. Measurements require like 5 minutes of their time. Ridiculous. No thanks.

I had heard good things about this salon and was excited to go there to look for bridesmaids dresses. I called at 12 pm on a Saturday to see if I could come in and was told I needed an appointment, which was made for 2:30 the same day so that I could have«a 45 minute consultation». I was very disappointed that when I showed up for my «appointment» I was merely shown a sparse selection of dresses and told we could pick what we wanted to try on and they’d «check in on us», which they never did. An associate did stare at us from afar the entire time without offering any input or assistance until I was ready to leave, at which point she asked whether I wanted any style numbers. I didn’t know what I would want them for(this was my first salon visit for bridesmaids) and she wouldn’t explain it to me, preferring to just repeat that I might want one. We were in and out in 10 minutes and, although we loved one of the dresses we tried, we decided to buy another because the service we received was so poor.

I am surprised to see the poor reviews. I went in without an appointment on a Saturday when I was visiting my mom, and the staff was very helpful. The selection wasn’t huge, but it was definitely good. I was more than pleased because they had a great selection of Paloma Blanca, which is made in Canada, as well as some gorgeous dresses made by a small designer in New York.(I was specifically looking for only US or Canada made). The sales people were very understanding of my interest in avoiding made in China, etc — and showed me only the dresses that fit my specs. The dresses impressed me because all felt like they were made of top quality materials — no cheap David’s Bridal style dresses here. Most of the dresses I tried were between $ 1600 — $ 2000, although one from NYC was $ 3500. I was very pleased with the friendliness of the staff. I will probably purchase my dress from them. Also a nice selection of bridesmaid and MOB dresses.

This place must be a front for something else as they clearly didn’t want to be pleasant and didn’t need our business. My daughter and I both had such bad experiences with them on the phone setting up an appointment, that once she found one dress that she liked at another salon we canceled our appointment.
