Seriously, folks, you HAVE to get a burrito from Flaming Amy’s. It might actually be some sort of food sin if you leave the area without going there. The burritos are that good. Actually, they’re amazing. I think, so far, the Shrimp Poboy is my favorite, though I think I say that every time I try a new one. The atmosphere is super casual, the service is friendly and quick. Like to have a cold beer with your lunch? You can at Amy’s. I usually have a Yuengling draft. Get’s kind of crowded on the weekends, so if you can check it out for lunch on a weekday.

Came here for brunch with 5 others. Ordered the Po Boy burrito, chicken club burrito, quesadillas & build your burritos. Order at the counter. Very busy but efficient at order taking and food prep. Excellent burritos in an eclectic environment. Very cool restaurant!

Great variety of burritos, I always opt to go to FAB because of their phenomenal mango/peach and pineapple/jalapeño salsas.

Flaming Amy’s has the best burritos in the area. Fresh ingredients and great salsa really separate this place from Chipotle and islands(gross). Not as cheap but you get what you pay for here.

I don’t get it. I am late with this review since I had to drive and go back to working back in Durham. The bathrooms here look like a dive bar, nasty and creating a sense of ickness that even the strongest man would shudder. I will admit, it is a cool place with all the stickers all over the door and looking like a dive bar that sells Mexican food. Now for the food, Um,… my fiancée got the Chipotle burrito, and had terrible intestional purging not from the non-spicy burrito where she had to actively hunt for the chipotle flavor in the burrito. The carnivore nachos that were recommended were house-made chips(Yum but full of grease), a smattering of meat that tasted like Taco Bell meat, with a large amount of melted shredded cheese over the top. My Burrito that I got was decent, if I could taste it through the large amount of Sour Cream that was poured into the burrito. I’ve never had crunchy sour cream,(The lettuce), but after a few days ago, I have sworn off dairy for at least a week.(But couldn’t you get no sour cream?) Yea, but this was my first time visiting the establishment, thus I didn’t know that I was eating a cream-filled Burrito. The one super positive that I found here was the Ginger-Peach Salsa. It was damn good. However, the nasty bathroom, intestional issues, bland nachos, and the creamy burrito. Sorry Wilmington, blah. Ah, forgot this at the end, They promised that the food will be Hot, Fast, Cheap, and Easy. No where does it mention good quality food. I guess I brought it on myself.

Excellent food & atmosphere. I’ve eaten burritos from all over the U.S. and I can honestly say, the burritos here are among the best I’ve ever had. A nice selection of traditional salsa and non-traditional flavors. I really love the fun and tongue-in-cheek atmosphere too; look for the ice cube and sweet tea dispensers! The prices are great too; good value for the money.

Despite many trips to Wilmington, I had never been to Amy’s. Remedied that on New Year’s Eve with a visit to the busy barn. The front doors cleared up the mystery of the«FAB» oval stickers I’d seen on cars around town. After eating, I learned why Amy’s is the kind of cool place that you’d advertise for free. Upon entry, I had to pass by the newcomers trying to figure out the extensive menu. Luckily, I had already decided before leaving home. An appropriately flame-haired young lady at the counter, identified on the receipt only as «Thing 2» took my order quickly and handed me an identifying sign so my order could find me when ready. Watched the front-end staff working hard while I waited, thus explaining the«Help Wanted-No Slackers» message on the sign out front. Looks pretty neat inside, but you could serve these burritos in an overturned trailer and the décor wouldn’t negatively affect your opinion. Soon enough, Thing 2 presented me with my order, a Bacon Double Cheese Burgerito. The burrito was so good, it didn’t even get out of the parking lot. Now I’ll have to go through the rest of that menu.

Sad this will probably be my last time eating here. I am moving away from Wilmington and this has easily been my #1 spot to eat for years. My go to favorite burrito was The Flaming Amy, sooo sooo sooooo good. I’m just sad knowing I will not find an experience like this in a long time if not ever. From the atmosphere, to the queso, to the salsa, to the homemade chips, to the BURRITOS… Flaming Amy’s will always hold a place in my heart!

«Hot, fast. cheap and easy» is the trademark slogan of this business and for good reason. This has been one of my favorite restaurants in Wilmington for over a decade. I dropped by today for a quick lunch and although there was a long line we waited less than ten minutes between ordering and having our food brought to the table. Today I ventured from my regular order to try the build your own quesadilla with cuban pork, grilled onions, and red/green peppers. It was massive and I have more than half leftover for a later meal. Best salsa bar in town. There is nothing traditional about this burrito barn, think punk rock, hard but trendy fun and family friendly. Tip: They allow dogs on the patio. Great drink specials throughout the week and discounts like tattoo Tuesday for those customers who love ink.

If you visit Wilmington and you do not go to Flaming Amy’s you are seriously missing out. They make THEBEST, the biggest and the most creative burritos you’ll find anywhere in North Carolina plus a ton of other great Mexican-inspired food. They have an awesome salsa bar where you can mix and match what you want with your delicious chips. You will also get enough food here for at least two meals so you totally get your money’s worth. It’s a super cool atmosphere — where else would you get 10% off on Tuesday just for having a tattoo? — and the owners are always giving back to the community. They bottle salsa and send it to the troops and do fundraisers for the local Food Bank and other hunger relief organizations. It’s one of the most delicious places to eat when you’re in Wilmington! And they try their best to work with food allergies!

Well, it’s official. We love Amy’s. Take a hike Surf Taco because this place puts you to shame. I ordered the Flaming Amy with steak, onions, chipotles, jalapeños, pintos, cheese and sour cream. I couldn’t even make it halfway through. I have lunch for the next 2 days. My fiancée ordered the Po’ boy loaded with jalapeño tartar and fried shrimp. Delicious everything to say the least. Their salsa bar is without competition. Cranberry, jalapeño pineapple, I could go on. Just go here.

If it was the food alone I was rating I’d give this place a solid 5 star review. However, I’m one that really cares about cleanliness and this store was about rock bottom for that area — disgusting!!! That is the reason for 3 stars — 5 for food — 1 for cleanliness. Pricing was amazing and so too was the Churkey thing!

We see Flaming Amy’s bumper stickers EVERYWHERE. This town loves Flaming Amy’s. We had to try it. Well, it’s no wonder now. Creative burrito menu for sure. Peanut sauce! Tofu! Yes, please! Service is cheerful. Food is flavorful and quick to be made, which is great if you’re really hungry and/or have small kids! Also, it’s pretty inexpensive if you compare to Chipotle. But I wouldn’t really compare to Chipotle. I guess I only said that because they are both somewhere you can have a burrito for lunch. It is nothing like Chipotle. I need a Flaming Amy’s bumper sticker. Did I forget to mention the salsa bar…

Flaming Amy’s is my favorite place in Wilmington, the food is always fresh and hot they have the best salsa bar in town they have a friendly staff, I would highly recommend for a relaxed dinner. The restaurant is anything bit normal décor inside but that’s what makes it interesting! Don’t be fooled into another place for dinner its priced well and you will walk out full no matter what you order!

Unique, spicy burritos! What else could you ask for? I ordered the Flaming Amy. It was nice and spicy. I love spicy food. This made me sweat. Thank goodness. There’s nothing worse than ordering something spicy that simply tastes like salt. I ordered shrimp in mine but will get beef next time. Like Arnold, I’ll be back.

My friends come here every summer when they visit Carolina Beach, but somehow I’ve always missed out on that particular meal. But FINALLY I got to experience Flaming Amy’s! My first trip included a steak fajitaritto and trying 6 different salsas. The fajitaritto was fantastic, but I think next time I will get it in «bowl» form because it was too much food with the wrap(for me). It was filled to the brim with steak, grilled green peppers & onions, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, guacamole, and sour cream. It came with a bunch of tortilla chips so I tried several of the salsas(there were 8+ to choose from at the salsa bar), with my favorite being the avocado-wasabi. Now I get to look forward to future trips to the beach including a side trip to get a burrito. The outdoor seating area is large and shaded, which was perfect since we had our dogs with us and didn’t want to leave them in the car. The big tree provides a good deal of shade so it is comfortable even on a hot day.

Full disclosure, I haven’t been here since graduating from UNCW in 2011. I live in Asheville now, a foodies dream. Howeverthe burrito game its massively lacking here. I’m writing this review because I just had ANOTHER crack burrito and it made me majorly miss Amys. Please come to Asheville!!! You guys have the best burritos I’ve ever had. No, its not«authentic», but I would rather have the variety that Amys offers. Pro tip: They pile on the rice, I always asked for half the amount and found it to be much better that way and easier to eat. Enjoy this gem you lucky Wilmingtonians!!!

Flaming Amy burrito with shrimp and Thai Chicken Nachos are a must every time i get near Wilmington. The burritos are about the size of a Nerf football but weigh a lot more because they are packed with rice, beans, meat and toppings. The nachos are meant to be an appetizer, but you can really make a meal out of them because they are huge. FAB makes their own salsas in-house with versions like pineapple-jalapeño, wasabi guacamole, chipotle, peach ginger and they also have a program called Operation Salsa Drop that sends food and money to our soldiers overseas.

Holy Burrito! Flaming Amy’s will have you thanking the burrito gods in no time… I’m not even lying, it’s that good. There are a ton of different choices on the menu ranging from the Big Jerk to the Thai Mee Up(** See Disclaimer Below). I ordered the Big Jerk and my wife ordered the Thai Mee Up — both were excellent. We also ordered the Thai Nachos to complete the glutton fest. We justified it by saying they were for my son(who’s 2 years old) but we both knew he wouldn’t touch them :). The nachos were all sorts of amazing as well. The Barn is about 3.5 miles from downtown Wilmington but it’s definitely worth it to hop in the car and make the drive. **Disclaimer: any husbands out there thinking about using a Thai Mee Up joke with their wife later in the evening — don’t do it. I’ll save you the pain of laughing your head off while she looks at you with a blank stare.
