I just left Maier’s as a happy camper. I just had some work done on my car over the weekend (somewhere else) but they didn’t realize I needed a new battery. Well, two days in a row of being stranded randomly and ultimately at work, an hour from home, left me to rely on a referral from a coworker, leading me to Maier’s. I called and explained my issue, not sure when I could get it jumped and over to the shop. They penciled me in and took me in immediately once I arrived, replaced my battery in a flash, and sent me back on my way in a very short period of time, despite being busy. Even fixed a small latch problem for free without asking. Will be back anytime I need work done in the Wilmington area. Thanks Mike!

Honest and dependable car care for big and small repairs. They’ve always kept me updated and actually call me back when they say they will. Mike the owner, is a standup guy that interacts with his customers. They aren’t apposed to taking customers in the garage to show what’s going on.

Horrible! Charged me 3000 for an expensive repair and didn’t do the job right causing the timing chain to brake and destroy the engine 3 months later! Also quoted me 400. more than the dealer for a simple window repair. I wouldn’t let them do anything more than an oil change!!!

Took my car here for a battery change, continuously asked the guy to make sure my old battery WAS indeed towards its end. His response was always «Ya i recommend changing the battery every 3 years or so.» My old battery ended up being perfectly fine i had an oil leak causing the issues i ASSUMED to be battery related. Anyway the guy just wanted my $ 200 dodged every question and at times just ignored me, it was awkward communicating with him. Then proceeded to insult the car I was dropped off in saying «Id never let my kids get one of those». Long story short if you have a good car, take it to the dealer for EVERYTHING minor or major. My grandfather used to use this place sand stopped years ago I see why. Pretty sure they broke my console as well but i have no proof of that… timing of the break is, well… convenient.

Fantastic experience here. My car over-heated and I just barely made it into their parking lot before the engine temp. went all the way up. They looked at my car right away. Two mechanics looked at the car for a long time, trying to solve what turned out to be an unusual fluke of a problem. In the end, they fixed the issue and only charged $ 30 — they had worked on the car for an hour and a half — I was surprised my bill wasn’t much higher. They explained everything in detail to me so I would know what happened in case it occurred again.
When I started having trouble, I asked an elderly client who has lived in this area all her life for a suggestion (I am new to the area). She said she had a great experience at Maier’s in the past. I found the same to be true!
