Heaven does exist and it’s located at Porters Neck Yoga & Spa. This place is the real deal. There are two beautiful and clean studios filled with all kinds of props(the blankets are washed regularly, something I’ve never encountered before even in the groovy and pricey NYC studios), a myriad of classes conducted by a wide-range of teachers, and it’s run by twin sisters Monique and Kersten who go out of their way to make every customer happy. I drive 25 miles each way to get my dose of bliss at Porters Neck Yoga & Spa – that’s how phenomenal the place is. And that’s not even counting the full range spa located upstairs. I have yet to meet anyone who doesn’t feel the same way I do about the place – that’s how spectacular PNYS is!

I came here for an underarm wax and returned for a facial and massage. This is a wonderful little haven off a busy road and the staff there are so kind and welcoming and knowledgeable. I would go here every day if I could.

Maybe I’m a bit biased because I just got home from PNY’s hot detox class and am feeling all kinds of post-yoga benevolence, but I think I’m in love. For starters, the space itself is warm, bright and gorgeous. They’ve got two studios(the second is relatively new) a small communal space and a deck that wraps around the back and looks out into the trees. I can’t wait for the weather to warm up so I can finish my next visit with tea and conversation out there. The studio offers plenty of parking, lots of class options for all levels and even spa services(which I have yet to try but I’ll have to splurge on a massage some time… you know… to fulfill my duties as a responsible reviewer…). My instructor was awesome — guiding us through a challenging 90-minute session, but never taking things *too* seriously(I like that we can all admit that Warrior 3 is really freaking hard sometimes or get a good giggle out of Happy Baby). Like I said, I just got home and I’m already planning my return. It’s a bit off the beaten path, but so worth the adventure. When you consider that it’s only $ 15 to drop-in, and you leave feeling like you’ve just had a full body(and mind) massage? It’s a steal :)
