Even though we live within walking distance we haven’t eaten here in 13 years. It wasn’t crowded and we were seated near the bar. We weren’t very hungry so hubby had a burger with fries and I had a reuben sandwich with fries. Hubby said his burger and fries were good. My reuben was excellent, however, not what I expected. The meat was ground up not slices and appeared to have cabbage and onions mixed in. Dressing was just the right amount and bread was perfectly toasted. Would eat here again.

Eat in the bar area, it seems nicer than the back restaurant part. I had some portobello fries… so good! And mussels in rose sauce, delicious! And the mussels are a special price on Thursdays, $ 7.99! And I got a free«world’s smallest sundae» for checking in on Unilocal! Great beer selection, too. Super wait staff. Will definitely be coming back soon!

I met RJ here for the end of the annual football thing he has with his friends. I ordered sesame encrusted tuna with seaweed salad which was surprisingly delicious. It was cooked rare just like I like it, which is hard to get because most places overcook it.

Stanleys has the coldest draft beer around! Their food is great. Their staff are super friendly and prompt. I even had my dad’s 50th surprise party upstairs here. They were incredibly easy to work with and accommodating. I also highly recommend them if you have Celiacs disease and want great wings! Our family friend swears by them and they take«gluten free» seriously.

Came to watch playoffs with my uncle. They have an extensive beer list and some awesome wings, we got suicidal and they were really tasty. Don’t get the beer cheese. It’s just cheese spread not a warm dip. The salad bar looked good and would like to Ty that next time we go if I make it back as I am from Virginia and was just visiting Delaware.

Been here twice. Good both times. Friendly staff and friendly regulars. Good atmosphere. Lots of draft beer selections, good daily food, happy hour food and drink specials. Ribs were amazing, wings were good too. Not fancy, doesn’t pretend to be. Been here for decades apparently. Surprised it only has 3⁄5 on Unilocal

Hadn’t been here in awhile and now I remember why. The place is a dump. It has a 1970’s salad bar, with food that looks like it been sitting there the whole time. Dirty floor, dirty, greasy walls and tables. The food was just as bad as the décor. I had a tasteless burger with cold fried. The service sucked. Had to beg for drink refills. I guess you need to be really drunk to enjoy their food. Not even worth the one star.

What a terrific dive bar! Seriously, the place isn’t fancy. It’s old, outdated, and on the cheesy side. But that’s part of the charm. Our server(we sat in the bar) was extreamely pleasant and helped us pick out food. We got fried deviled eggs, brushetta, and two bacon/beed burgers. I didn’t try the burgers, but I was told they were the most amazing thing to ever grace a plate. The fried deviled eggs were pretty food too, and I have nothing but great things to say about the bruschetta. I loved it! The beer was super cold too. Also, if you check in on Unilocal, you get a mini sundae as well.

I’ve been coming here since I was knee high to a grasshopper. Seriously, my BFF and I used to walk here as kids from our Beacon Hill neighborhood and have lunch before stopping across the street at 7 – 11 for a dessert of Slurpees and gummy bears. Now, as an adult, I can appreciate this place even more, even though I don’t live anywhere close to here anymore. The food is still good, but there’s a nice beer selection as well. I love sitting in the bar area and listening to the conversations of the locals. It’s a place I have to stop at every time I’m in town.

The stars are for the beer selection, only. Went in last night with my sons @ 8pm and as is typical in these bar/restaurants the bartender waited on us at a high-top near the bar. The middle aged severe looking woman who waited on us needs to find another way of making her living. She was brusque, inattentive and churlish. It was clear that we were annoying her by our presence and that we were taking time away from her attending to the bar. A smile some small talk etc would have gone a long way towards making us feel welcome. My 20 year old was made to feel so uncomfortable that he wanted to exit even before finishing our meal, and he never leaves a table with food on it, never. Ahh the food. Ordered the tavern nachos, 17 bucks and another 3 for the chili to be added on. When it arrived there was a pile of refried beans that was larger than my fist I have large fist) dead smack in the middle of the nachos. It was impossible to touch any of the chips without getting a tablespoon of refried bean on it which was a turnoff for the 13 year old. There was at most three tablespoons of chili on the plate, more than a buck a tablespoon is pricey, about half that much fresh tomatoes and two tablespoons of salsa in a miniature container on the side. Plenty of pit less olives though. So essentially I got a chesse with refried beans and olive nacho for 20 bucks. Hardly worth it. The special for the evening was ½ priced pizza, I ordered one out of curiosity and so that the 13 year old would have lunch today. The tomatoes and cheese looked to be placed on a pita that was undercooked. It was so yucky looking that the 13 year old wouldn’t touch it, last night or for lunch today. Who ever heard of a 13 year old turning down a slice of pie? ½ price is no bargain if nobody will eat it. The 20 year old ordered the ribs, wings, hamburger with a side combination for $ 20. Our bartender/waitress did not provide him with any condiments for the burger and was offended when we asked for more napkins. Wings were tasty but the others were overcooked and/or stale. His finishing it was no sign of the quality of the food. Anyway, below mediocre food, decent beers and a sourpuss waitress is the short version. We will be back @ Two Stones which is a bit pricier but worth it, just up the street, next Thursday night. Sorry Stanleys we gave you a shot and you didn’t impress.
