Very nice new bar in the neighborhood. Lots of vibe. Good selection of patrons. A great Gay Bar!

Bartenders only want to talk to their friends and not the customers, they seem to do a bait and switch on their specials, very small and very clicky crowd, kind of pretensions. I might give it another try

Once again bartender Evan and the rest of Matty’s team were on point. My friends ordered Tater tots before I arrived and told me how great they were. I totally say, come to Matty’s and say«hey» to Evan !

I absolutely loved the old Matty’s and am thrilled to see it come back! What kept me going back to the old location was the friendly staff. I’m glad to see that many of those former employees are back and have added one of my favorites(Evan) to the mix. A great place with great staff!

Great place! Cool location! Great Service! Cool, huge bar that’s fun to sit around and enjoy all the patrons. I love that you can hold a conversation and still have good music and videos in the background. Friendly bartenders — especially Evan! Not sure what those naysayers on here are seeing. Check it out!

This is a great neighborhood bar on the drive in Wilton Manors. We already have a few favorite bartenders, among them Evan and Omar. These two are funny, friendly, attentive. The bar takes up a big chunk of the space but the open design let’s you sit almost anywhere and see all the the other patrons. There are four big screen TV’s over the bar and a couple more on the wall. Better yet, they have food! And it’s really, really good! They are small plates perfect for when you get the munchies. So far, I’ve had the Grand Marnier Meatballs, the Ginger Beef Skewers and the Chicken Skewers. Finally, there’s the art. Every couple of weeks, a new artist displays their art on the walls. It’s fun to see what local artisans are producing. Count me among the the happy customers that always looks forward to the next trip to Matty’s!

Just like a neighborhood«Cheers» — great menu, variety of drinks, bartenders are the friendliest on the Drive. Clean, bright atmosphere — easy parking — owners are sweet. My favorite bar in town! Jason — the Manager is so incredible. Great guy. Patrick — one of the bartenders — nicest guy in town. Run, don’t walk to Matty’s!(And don’t drive after drinking lol) Love this place.

I remember the original Matty’s of yesteryear vaguely so seeing this location pop up, I made zero connection of the two until reading previous reviews. Initially when I walked in I thought I would absolutely not like it there and to be completely honest, if I hadn’t been meeting a date there I would have left because I ended up having a good time there. I think for me the biggest issue with this location is just the set up. It has this one huge bar that everyone surrounds and then a few two-tops around the edges of the room. I don’t remember seeing anything hung up on the walls. It had a very unwelcoming feel. They had a dj there, but the dj didn’t play music. They played videos. I don’t know why they need a dj booth if they’re playing videos. The music was good for the most part but then they would play very, and I mean very obscure videos from the 70’s and 80’s. And knowing Wilton Manors, you know the clientele isn’t young and I could see that they didn’t know what was playing either. The bar staff was pretty great. We had a couple mix ups in terms of not getting our 2−4−1 drink chips and they charged my credit card incorrectly, but they fixed both issues immediately. While we were drinking we were constantly being checked up on and you know that Wilton Manors is known for its over pouring and Matty’s was no exception– these drinks were strong. It’s an ok place. I think if the worked on the vibe inside it would be amazing. I also realize that it just reopened to I have to give it time to gel into what it wants to be. I’m glad I stayed and gave it a chance. And I’m sure I’ll give it another one soon. OH! and the biggest draw: Happy Hour every day from 2p-9p(I know, right?!)

I was a huge fan of Matty’s of yore,(the old Rumors) and was so anticipating the new incarnation. But after several attempts it seems the magic that was at the old location remains or is lost.(I am not a fan of new Rumors FYI). The bar is challenged with horrible acoustics. We had a game of guess what song is playing because it was impossible to actually hear. The drinks are horrifically weak. Yes everyone I asked about visiting agrees. The feedback across the board is the drinks are super weak… I hope they can get back the old Matty’s magic but this bar is so off the mark, It seems the magic had nothing to do with Matty. On a side note. «Matty» or whoever is the apparent owner of the bar could not be more unpleasant outside the bar. He has a permanent frown and extremely unfriendly nature. Not a good look for someone trying to get people to patronize his bar… I live in the Gables and this is the general opinion of everyone I know…

I had chance to stop at Matty’s located along the heart of Wilton Manors Drive. It’s a totally new bar, but not exactly, as Matty’s was once located where Rumors bar is located today. So though a new bar with brand new everything, Matty’s isn’t exactly new to the gayborhood; and of course wondering whether or not Matty’s is a gay bar would be akin to pondering whether or not the Vatican is Catholic. After all, Wilton Manors is probably the only city in the nation with its entire recent development owing to and being centered around gay bars. As Matty’s has deeply tinted glass doors you’d at first think it to be closed except for the faint glow of its flat screens. When you enter, the first thing that strikes you is the size of the bar itself, which is huge, more than 30 seats, taking up most of the space. Whoever designed the interior designed it with providing the largest bar seating environment possible. With everything being brand new, Matty’s is spotlessly clean. As I stopped by on a Monday evening, it wasn’t the most hopping of places but has its similarities with Matty’s of the prior location in that it is a basically a social drinking and music DVD video/flatscreen bar. I note on the Unilocal listing it also states«Adult Entertainment,» but if it has any, nobody there knew anything about it though most suspect that they may have some type of shows later on when they become more established; most likely drag comedy. I ordered a gin and tonic, found the bartenders to be accomplished, professional, friendly, polite, pouring a decent drink and in keeping with the old Wilton Manors gay bar tradition, giving out chips, 24’s, being buy one and get the chip for your second free. Though when I entered it was the last day of November, Matty’s already had a well decorated Christmas tree up, and though the other parts of the interior are rather Spartan, absent any theme décor, adorned with canvas paintings of local artists which I understand will change or alternate from time to time. One good thing about Matty’s is that it is located practically adjacent to the municipal parking lot, but that is pay for parking, strictly enforced during gaytime hours, which are the hours running through the late of night into the wee hours of the morning. As I happened into Matty’s when it has only first opened and on a Monday night it would be rather unfair of me to either be critical or flattering of the place. So for now, all I can say is its friendly, gay, has decent bartenders, serves up a decent drink; Three Stars, it’s OK.
