Well, we went there for the first time and everything was really great. There were two bartenders, and they made us feel welcomed. Then, we went a second time in a group of 8 people. The bartender kept making white jokes to our group, and saying some pretty appalling things. I have never in my entire life made to feel uncomfortable being in an «ethnic» place(as he put it), regardless of skin color. We took our business down the road and never will return. Very disappointing.

Based off of the negative reviews, I should have known I would have a good time at this establishment. Being from Atlanta, I was curious whether I would be able to find a similar vibe in Fort Lauderdale. When I entered PJs Cocktails on last Sunday, I knew immediately I had found my home away from home. Sunday night was karaōke night(I clowned to Shai and Jodeci). I returned on Tuesday night — which was just a regular night — and still had an awesome time. Tonight was New Year’s Eve, and it was on another level. There was real food(wings, veggies, etc. — which means that we did not have to buy dinner before coming here) and they had a reasonably priced($ 5) signature cocktail on New Year’s Eve — instead of raising the price or having a special night because of the holiday. Kudos to the owner of this establishment for having a nightclub which caters to a «specific demographic» in Fort Lauderdale. You’re surrounded by another group of patrons who clearly have hated on you in the Unilocal!reviews. I applaud you, and I will tell every friend I know to visit PJs Cocktails in Wilton Manors if they are ever in the general vicinity. One Love.

Love it ! Feels like home. No one is a stranger. Cheapest and best cosmo and martinis on the drive. Lots of haters here whom are oviously not use to different types of bar ownership and crowds as in a black own bar. But locals know the real deal. And this is everyone’s comfort zone.

Place has really gotten nasty and trashy since it’s time in Flagler village. Drinks are over priced and bartenders are nasty and trashy looking. If I wanted to go see nasty guys in saggy underwear I’d go to a strip club in Tijuana. Can’t even have a drink without being disgusted. Trust me your better of going to a nice clean bar like Rumors, Village Pub, or Alibi!

Worst bar in Walton Manors, came in service is horrible, had a 20 dollar, dance, could of watch the dancer for free, for paying 20 dollars. I would not recommend this place for any one, service, is horrible. This place sucks, just like any other afro American place for none black people. Will never return to this shit hole.

This place is so seedy its crazy. I can’t believe this place remains open, but I can’t really complain about the drinks or service. After walking by on our way up and down the drive, I jokingly suggested going in and my boyfriend obliged just to appease me. There was a young guy outside with a laptop and said before we entered, we needed to become«members». All thats required is your name, email and phone number. Just give it to them, as I did it months ago and have never received anything from them. The patrons are strange looking. One very odd looking drag queen that was obviously on something and a bunch of twinky young thugs. The bartender was none other than PJ himself– and he was very sweet! The drinks were strong and tall, he was very welcoming, but it doesn’t make up for the almost nonexistant decór, really low music, awful lighting, and the ghetto feel. We almost instantly went back outside and tried to finish our drinks(we couldn’t) and left in a hurry. I will not be returning.

Friendly crowd and different vibe than the rest of the twink shacks on The Drive. Friendly and cute bartenders, and a decent karaōke night. The bar area needs to be reworked so that there is more room for customers and less dance floor space behind the bar. The bar takes up the entire room and patrons are squeezed behind it. Strange. But I give them 3 stars for effort and balls to actually open up a new spot that’s a bit more diverse than the other places in the hood. Good luck, and let’s see how they grow.

Absolutely horrid! Only go if you’re interested in having hustlers come up to you begging for money. However there is a weekly show where you get to watch several of the customers, hustlers, and bar staff fight about drugs and money. One of the sleaziest bars to ever open in south Florida!

Been here, done that. There is no soda system, you receive nice flat mixer from a two liter thats been opened days! The furniture and accessories are a rent-a-center show room on consignment. We wont be back!

Great relaxing spot. A great mix of people who are looking to mix and mingle. Very friendly crowd. There are some guys who can’t accept, but that may mean there’s a it factor. PJ has opened a spot similar to my favorite bars in Chicago, DC, and NYC. There’s room dance a lil bit, a card table, and nice sized bar. Fridays are a really good night after 8p.

This was a Vintage Consignment Store last time I was on The Drive. I was very impressed with the minimalistic design to the aesthetics of their décor. Unfinished walls with the concrete center blocks still exposed, seating areas spread out mimicking living room areas in a loft and a pool table tucked away towards the back. This was the larger of the two rooms. The main room, the one you enter first, consists of a very large bar with plenty of seating. There is a smaller room towards the very far back, by the restrooms, that is still undergoing some construction. I was here on a mid Saturday afternoon. The bar was being attended to by a nice looking young lad wearing hot shorts and no shirt. I will make it a point to stop in here next time I’m in the area. On looks alone, it has the potential to be one of the more popular bars on The Drive. It is very unique to the other bars within range. This was one of my many stops. I continued with a Chocolate Martini here where as expected, it was made to perfection. Things to keep in mind before coming here: * Parking — it is very limited here. Your best bet if you plan on coming here is walking here. Just make sure one of the competing bars where you parked doesn’t have a Towing Policy when they see you going to another bar. I’m not going to say any names(coughs… «Alibi») but, this policy is enforced at some places. Using Valet at one of the other bars is another option.

With its opening on January 24th, PJ’s Cocktails is newest gay bar on The Drive of Wilton Manors. Though new to Wilton Manors it isn’t exactly new to Fort Lauderdale having been previously operated by the same owner as PJ’s Corner Pocket on North Flagler Drive. So, welcome to Wilton Manors, PJ’s. PJ’s Cocktails is somewhat unique and different from the other gay bars of The Drive in that it is the first Black owned and operated bar, but as was the case with its predecessor, Corner Pocket, you’ll find PJ’s Cocktails to have a totally mixed crowd; essentially with an all-encompassing environment where everyone is welcome regardless of race, sexual orientation, cultural background or any of those other things or concepts that elsewhere unfortunately take on various forms of divisiveness. You’ll find none of that here at PJ’s. I might digress for a moment just to point out that the gay community is itself very diverse, culturally, ethnically and in ever varying degree. After all, as long as straight people of every race and culture keep right on having gay babies, it’s those gay babies who will later reflect all of their various diverse backgrounds, cultures and upbringings. Other differences about PJ’s is that it’s not the usual loud blaring music type of bar but a more relaxing loungy club like atmosphere with plenty of comfortable sofas, some reading materials, and relaxing chairs. Indeed it may be evolving into a club or part club membership, but of that I’m not yet sure. One good thing, at least to me, is that you can carry on a pleasant conversation in PJ’s without the necessity of shouting or raising your voice to be heard. Better yet, it’s also a full service bar unlike some of the other lounge types which tend to be wine and beer only. Since it just opened, it does show the usual pains of any establishment just opening such as bar tenders not only incapable of doing a high pour but need shot glasses when mixing drinks & etc. However, those are just the typical little bumps in the road common to any newly opened establishment which I’m sure will soon be overcome. One of the best attributes of PJ’s however is PJ himself since with his kind, charming, personal friendly demeanor acts as the glue that keeps things together, running orderly, and with his pleasant smile puts everyone at ease, feeling welcome, at ease and comfortable. Since PJ’s has just opened it and is evolving, it’s really too early for me to rate, but so far it looks A-OK.
