I had my 12 yr old cat family suffering and knew that she was in the processing of dying. I started calling Vets in Leesburg, VA and got estimates from $ 150 – 250. I thought that was very unfair to the cat to do blood work, urine collection to come to the same conclusion. She was dying. I found this Vet online and called and Courtney was so kind on the phone, told me it would be $ 50 and said how sorry she was to hear this news. I drove the 40 miles and wow what a nice group of compassionate people putting my cat’s needs first and offering sincere condolences to me. Not only did Christine the tech handle her with so much tender loving care but the Vet Ashley was also a superstar for loving animals. They also provided a cat coffin and a clay paw print. I left sad but yet so relieved by the employees that truly made an awful situation bearable. Thank you again and yes 5 stars!!!

So unhappy with Valley Veterinary Emergency right now. Tonight was a very long night from 1am — 5am with one of our fur boys having already been seen earlier in the day. We returned with symptoms increasing. We’re told 2 patients were being seen by the doctor and our boy would be worked in. No problem for us, but there was no sense of urgency throughout the 4 hours we were here. Each time an assistant came to check in on us in the room it was another 45 minutes before returning. I’ve been here one other time before and it was a way better experience with different attending doc and assistants. So far I have to think it depends on who the crew is for the weekend. Tonight I’m leaving with a poor feeling of patient attentiveness and attendant care. At one point our dog stood there with diarrhea running down his backside and the tech ignoring us and prepping our instructions to go home. Next day update: We brought our dog back in because we couldn’t get him to drink or eat, now going on for 30 hours. Was concerned about dehydration, etc. So glad we did because we had a completely different experience. It was a new medical crew, Dr Reese, tech Ashley and Amanda in the front. At least 5 patients were being seen along with those who had been admitted in the back. We were seen within 15 minutes, received fluids and a few more meds. He was even given his IV fluids in the room we were in. Only bummer is the inconsistency of experience with the different crews. When you hit the right one though, this is a great place to get superior healthcare for pets.

My only complaint is that I wish this could be my regular vet!!! The facility, the staff, the knowledgable vet and techs are all fabulous! I’m fine with the cost of and quality of service. I’ve been here multiple times with multiple pets.

I am not staff nor affiliated with the emergency center, just a customer unfortunately. Anyone who thinks this hospital is a rip off is totally wrong. They have saved my animals life several times and treated my animal and I like gold. Yes it is expensive like any animal hospital or vet, but if you have a pet and it is sick money should not be an object. If it is, you shouldnt have pets. All the staff is great, loyal and highly skilled. Only 24⁄7 animal hospital around and always very clean and tv, magazines, papers to make the tine go by waiting for your animal etc. Being in the military i have moved around since I was 20 and been to animal hospitals all over the US. By far this hospital is definitly one of the best I have seen especially in the northeast. Again, great hospital, amazing staff.

I can’t thank the staff enough for the care and service they provided last night for Daisy! Rachael Nuzzo, DVM is obviously doing what she is meant to be doing! She was sincere in everything she said, carefully explained the process and what they were looking for, and everything in between. Daisy has a tumor in her bladder, which we knew. The size and location of the tumor means that it’s inoperable… and incurable. Daisy strains to urinate, but that is what we expect given the circumstances. Now there was more persistency, more straining, and blood. She was panting heavily and even the whites of her eyes were red. There was no question that we needed to get her to a veterinarian and see what, if anything, they could do. All of the staff was understanding and helpful. They genuinely care about what is going on and worked to find a solution. The best they could do after the tests were done was to provide her with a mild pain medication to take the edge off so she could rest. It definitely helped Daisy and I’m so grateful! We are hoping that the medication to shrink the tumor works so that Daisy won’t have any other nights like this one. But I certainly feel better knowing that I can bring her here if need be, and not have to worry about if she’ll be treated well. I recommend this facility… but hope you never need it!

This place is a life saver. My new adopted kitten was experiencing seizures at 3am and I rushed her here. They were very comforting and kind as well as knowledgeable. The main veterinarian was the one to suggest to wait on the possibility of putting her down. Which I am so thankful I did. They also made a few follow-up calls to see how the kitten was doing.

We took our dog on Sunday because her ear was painful. We were very pleased with the staff, doctor, wait time and even the cost. We will follow up with our regular vet but will definitely use them again. We are really lucky to have this place so close to our home.

Hands down the best animal hospital I’ve ever been to. Staff was amazing and they had all the best technology on site. My dog came in in critical condition and the doctors took care of him right away. They were friendly and informative. The technicians were also very helpful and it seemed that they always had at least 3 or 4 doctors present; even over night! A few days later my dog got to come home and I’m so greatful to the wonderful staff at Valley Emergency for all of their hard work and caring.
I am so thankful that this place is in Winchester. I came home from work yesterday to a VERY upset kitty who was showing all the symptoms of a urinary blockage. If you know anything about cats, you know that a urinary blockage is a serious issue… and I was terrified because we were totally broke(it being 2 days before payday). I have a CareCredit card, which is used to finance veterinary and other medical stuff, but there are very few places in Winchester that accept it. Thankfully, Valley Emergency is one of those places. We called them and they told us to bring him right in. We were greeted as soon as we walked in the door and someone took Mouse(yes, my cat’s name is mouse) into the back to make him comfortable while I filled out paperwork. The staff here is incredibly friendly, and they all have an awesome sense of humor. They kept us in good spirits even though we were terribly upset and did whatever they could do to keep costs down because of our financial situation. Like Jay M. said… they didn’t seem out to get our money, they just wanted to provide the best care for our baby. We were there for a very long time, but it being an emergency clinic, there are going to be emergencies that pull the staff away for a while. It also took us a while to work out all of our financial stuff, so the lengthy visit is partly our fault. We left my kitty there overnight and they have already called us twice to give us updates on his status… once later in the day and once this morning. We were told we could call and check on him at any time if we got worried, but I know he’s in good hands. It comforts me that this place is open 24 hours, because I know that someone is there to monitor him at all times. I always wonder if that’s the case when I’ve had to leave pets overnight at a regular vet clinic. Anyways, this place rocks. The people here obviously genuinely care about the animals they are treating and are kind people. I wish they could be my cats’ regular vet. That’s how awesome they are.

These guys are great, took our King Shepherd here when he ate a loveseat and some wood and a cushion with safety pins, they took great care of him and it was nowhere near as expensive as I had feared it would be. 24 hour service BTW so if your emergency happens after hours, these guys will be there for you!

They took care very good care of our Lab when he got bit by a spider. We were worried as he hobbled around, but they quickly saw him and found his spider bite and assured us he would be fine in a day or two. Like his regular vet they didn’t seem to be out for our money and told us how to take care of him without spending a lot of money.
