This is my ‘go to’ place when I absolutely, positively do not have the energy to cook. The family dinners to go are generous, budget friendly, quickly prepared, and my family loves it. Please do not EVER take this option off of the menu!

Great value for money. Never had a bad meal here. Escargot is awesome. The wedge always has crisp warm bacon. Convenient being off rt 93 and 111 too. Recommend

The foods amazing, we have been there a couple of times and we sat at the bar. The bartender, Patrick was awesome, great service, best restaurant in Windham, can’t wait to go back !

Skip it. I can’t even rate the food because we waited over 30 minutes for just water and that never came. We sat on the roof deck where a bunch of other people were pissed off waiting. I’m sure the food is fine, but the waitress was beyond bad. Dropped bread at 7:00pm sharp. Not even a napkin at 7:31. Really? I’d complain but she came back for two service two tables. Spoke to Lula the manager was very nice and offered a gift card. Told her we won’t return and to take frequent trips upstairs to visit the other unhappy patrons. Crossed the road to McDonald’s. Got our tasty comfort food in 4 min. That should tel you something. Don’t be a windham restaurant casualty.

The windham restaurant was surprisingly good. I never thought this place was open because their parking lot was behind the restaurant. We’ve just moved up close to the area and never knew until we saw people inside. The food was good. Although I didn’t pay for the meal I found there menu quite exotic. Living in Maryland exotic food tended to cost more. Although I can’t remember the actual price for my meal I remember just having a good time. I recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a good date night something nice but casual. And remember have fun.

Will not return. Lived in Windham for several years and decided to go for a little dinner with the husband. We order the shrimp and crab cakes for an appetizer, they were ok. Not a ton of flavor but we were very hungry. My husband ordered the seafood lovers fettuccine. The fettuccine was almost raw and the cream sauce was salty. The seafood was just ok. I ordered the baked scallops. The scallops were dry and gritty. The rice was so dry it was inedible and the season veggies were edible. I didn’t care much for the dinning room. The peeling wallpaper and spider webs(with live spiders at no extra charge) are not appealing to me. The worst part and it is hard to pin down because it was bad in ever aspect, was the terrible service. The waitress disappeared for extremely long periods of time. Not sure why, they were not very busy. My husband ordered Corona. She brought Corona light, no problem except it was 20 minutes between sightings of her. When we let her know, she told us they don’t carry«regular Corona» only«Corona Extra». We explained that is regular corona. She said she couldn’t be expected to know that because she is not 21. Ok, no problem can we get another beer? Ugh! Worst part she even charged him for wrong beer. We didn’t complain about anything because it was 20 minutes between each sighting of our ghostly waitress. By the time she appeared after 20 minutes of staring at the inedible crappy entrees, we were just ready to get out of there. Not sure about the ghost, but if it is haunted, they are not hanging around for the food. They have probably just been waiting all this time for the check.

Our food was okay. It was nothing that we came home and were dying to go back. Not to say it was bad. However, for the money the environment could be nicer and the food could be better. It is a restaurant we didn’t necessarily complain about but would probably never think of going back unless there was a coupon or something. Also, they call themselves fine dining and I actually had to point out how their menu looked like a diners menu. Just very plain and grungy looking. Not the actual items. Not that that matters just made us laugh a little I guess?

Good food at a reasonable price. The bar area is extremely nice. A great place for cocktails and appetizers. The upstairs is a bit dated however.

We were shocked at how bad the service was here when my father took me here for my birthday dinner. Dirty glasses: We got our wine glasses and one of us noticed there was a lipstick stain still on her glass! She asked for another one, and the waitress brought another without apologizing. The second glass ALSO had lipstick. Then we all checked our glasses and mine did too! We were so grossed out by the dirty dishes. The waitress saw that one of us didn’t use our glass and she didn’t even ask about it. She DID make a snide remark about washing them herself and that she knew they were clean. Our waitress didn’t tell us there were specials, the only reason we found out was because we overheard the waiter next to us read them to his table! Really stinks because the dishes sounded really good. She never came to check on us, we had to flag her down, which made us feel like we were bothering her and she was doing us a favor. All in all she was a mess, rushing all over the place, wasn’t warm or pleasant, and didn’t make us feel like we were being taken care of or appreciated. This isn’t a cheap restaurant, so paying $ 20+ for an entrée I’d expect to at least get clean dishes and hear the specials. The food was not bad, which makes it a bummer that the service gave us such a bad impression. The cheesecake and bread pudding were great! Just not good enough to make me want to go back and endure that service. I don’t recommend this place to anyone, really disappointing.

This was a great place to eat at. Great food and a really nice old Colonial house setting. The colonial house was built in 1812 and is supposedly haunted. I had an experience in there wasn’t a logical explanation for. When I was in the Bathroom, I heard a bunch of jumping on the 2nd floor, so I thought it was a kid messing around. When I’m back from the bathroom, the waiter tells me that there is nobody up there. Despite the experience, I would go back if I didn’t live 2,800 miles away in Southern California.

This is a great place for food and super drinks! Many delicious food options. Our compliments to the chief. The specials are quite large. My husband had the eggplant and I had the Chicken Cordon Bleu. We ate at the bar for a more casual feeling and the bartender was sooo accommodating. We recommend the Windham Restaurant. A bit of trivia: We didn’t see any ghosts, since we knew in previous years this location was haunted.

I went to the Windham Restaurant in a party of 6. If I could give them 3.5 stars I would, but if I have to go up or down, I have to go with a 3. Overall the food was pretty good, but what it was really lacking, was flavor. the Wedge Salad was good and I had hopes. For the main course I had the Filet Mignon wrapped in bacon. Really, it lacked flavor, which I find hard to believe. The potatoes didn’t have much in the way of flavor as well. Others at the table commented on the lack of flavor as well. One person had lamb, the other had a salad with chicken, … It maybe the best place in Windham for a sit down meal, but it would be better if they gave the food a bit more love. The Service, drinks and appetizers were good!

This is a nicer casual place with some different food options. If you’re tired of the chain places in the area, then give this one a try. They have some great soups and some adventurous food options for being in New Hampshire. :) I really liked the escargot that I had last time. I think this is going to become the«go to» place when we don’t want to cook and are looking for a quick great meal.

After driving by the Windham many times we decided to stop in tonight and have dinner. We ordered the calamari for an appetizer and it was rubbery as if it were previously frozen. I ordered the windham chicken which was great but pasta was tasteless. My fiancé ordered the baked scrod and had asked the waitress twice if it was definitely fresh she did yes. When he got his dinner the fish was dry and chewy totally gross. After having a couple of drinks appetizer and now 1 meal bill was $ 70. Will never come here again. If you are looking for consistency you are better off driving a little further to CJS.

Decided to give this establishment a try tonight after driving by it all these years and reading about it as being a local haunted attraction to some. Being built in 1812 certainly does give it some history. After placing my order, I had to ask… if it really was haunted. I was offered to take a tour of the upstairs area to check it out, I did not hesitate in any way! I ordered the spicy chicken dip as an app, chicken parm dinner, Windham chicken dinner, and chicken finger and fries for the kids. It was all very good and fresh. The only thing I didn’t care for was the angel-hair pasta… it was cooked too long, making it mushy. The Windham chicken had quite a mix of items that mixed very well together. The chicken fingers and parm was breaded and very moist… so good! We got some freshly baked bread with rosemary on it and chive butter spread to enjoy with our meal. that was ok. I recommend this place :)

Best place in town. I’ve gone for years and had everything on the menu, and I’ve never had a bad meal. The food is great but it’s the people that bring me back. Greeted by a smile when you walk in and very accommodating. They have a great bar, good beer selection, and the best bartenders you can find.

So… Been by this place over and over… Decided on windham house… Initially welcomed in quickly… But then waited 10 minutes before drinks were offered, but our waiter was very nice ANDATTENTIVE the rest of our visit, his name was tim. 2 of the 3 the specials were crossed off and we arrived at 730pm. signage out front said mon-thurs 10.95 dinner specials… which i didn’t see on the menu, but I also didn’t ask about them:( Sat in room to the right of the door immediately when u walk in. Room was baren, chairs were too low, and felt awkward at the table height trying to eat and converse, i think the chairs are older which goes with the older building, but not super comfy or functional… i wouldn’t usually write about seating, but it was uncomfortable:(. Bread basket was nice… I started turning my opinion around… Ordered pollo cremoro and calabrese … Both were plentiful and tasty! Overall not bad for suburbia… But no place I’d go running back to. Menu was very standardized… Chicken fingers, fried raviolis, French onion soup, chic parm, chic marsala, … With that said, everything we had was very tasty and u could tell was made fresh to order. wine list was also well rounded. they appear to have outdoor seating on second floor balacony.

We have driven by this place countless times on the way to The Common Man. This year for our anniversary we decided to give this place a shot based on Unilocal reviews and some friends comments. I admit I was a bit skeptical. When we arrived, we arrived around opening time as we had other plans after dinner so the place wasn’t very busy. However it was extremely clean, and the staff was wonderful. I posted some pictures of our meals which were absolutely outstanding. We ordered: Champagne Calamari Escargot Pork Loin Dinner Rack of Ribs Absolutely everything we ordered was fantastic. In fact the Escargot was better than The Common Mans! I would absolutely go back here again as I was surprised at how good, fresh and hot the food was. One of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. Prices were also excellent! Dinner prices averaging from $ 16-$ 24 . Now I’m hungry…

It’s the big yellow colonial house(built in 1812) located across the street from the On The Run/Mc Donald’s near Exit 3. The place is hard to miss! The Windham Restaurant opens for dinner at 5:00PM, closed on Sundays. The classic and casual atmosphere inside is very cozy and quaint with active fireplaces in the bar area and the first floor dining room and framed printed art on the walls. There are more dining rooms upstairs too. Each table(plate glass surface with table cloth) has candlelight and a flower vase. During nicer weather, enjoy your meal outside on the patio. My friend and I had dinner at the Windham Restaurant on a snowy cold weeknight. We made a reservation and were seated in the very cozy first floor dining room, right next to the fireplace, a nice spot to warm up to the food and«spirits»(some say the Windham may be haunted). The Pinkerton Tavern in Derry may be haunted too. Speaking of food and«spirits,» the Windham Restaurant and the New England Ghost Project offer the Dining With The Dead series on the second Monday of each month for dinner and a paranormal experience(presentation). The March 10th date is sold out. Okay, onto the meal. The creative American menu offers some interesting appetizers, salads, soup, steaks, lamb, poultry, veal, seafood, pasta, desserts at moderate to spendy prices. Full wine list, beer, and cocktails are available. On Mon-Thurs, $ 12 Specials are offered including Chicken Bianco, Chicken Marsala, Chicken & Eggplant Parm, Baked Scrod, and Tilapia Picatta. Check out the menu at
We started out with a Grey Goose Martini(extra dry, straight up with 2 olives) and Capt. Morgan & Coke, good drinks. The basket of focaccia bread was soft and tasty, similar to the Pillsbury dinner bread. For appetizers, the Lobster Shells & Cheese($ 11) was baked really hot with a crumb topping and had good flavors, but the lobster meat had a slight mediciney taste, perhaps being preserved. The Eggplant Stack($ 7.50) was presented nicely, a stacking of sliced fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, and thick slices of breaded eggplant over field greens and balsamic reduction drizzle, very good. For dinner, the Veal Limone($ 18) had pan seared veal, mushrooms, & artichokes in a lemon & white wine sauce served over rice, a tasty and hot dish. The Tilapia Picatta($ 12 special, normally $ 17), soft tender tilapia seasoned and sauted with capers, baby asparagus, & sundried tomatoes in a lemon wine butter sauce over a pile of rice, tasty and filling. For dessert, we had the NY style cheesecake($ 5.50) and the Snickers Bar Blitz Pie($ 5.50), both rich desserts with good cups of hot coffee. Overall, the food here was solid good country inn fare, a nice atmosphere, and the service was good and pleasant. The Windham Restaurant gets a solid 4STARS.
