Brown’s Driving Range

This was a pretty decent driving range. Unfortunately the Brown family recently sold the land to a developer and it’s being turned into apartments. Yuck! Slowly but surely golf gets pushed away along with farmland. Windsor used to have two driving ranges and two golf courses. Now there is one course and no ranges. I think there are probably no golfers in the town government to let this happen. They don’t realize that golf courses help attract residents and businesses to a town. You visit other towns around here that seem to really support golf like West Hartford and Simsbury and they are thriving.
They are planning to close the dump here one of these years and I’ve never heard them say anything about considering a muni golf course. No wonder Windsor High never produces any top golfers.
