Great service. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Vast selection. A charming bookstore in a picturesque town square of Windsor, CA.

A town isn’t complete without a bookstore! Pages is small, but they have a good selection of books. I’m a sci-​fi and horror type, so I was happy to see they had the books I wanted. The owner, Dean, was very helpful and sweet.
It’s funny, I saw the review about one of the owners chewing out a customer for using her debit card for a small purchase. I work in credit card processing and actually approached Dean about my services. Most merchants have developed a thick skin and hard eyes from constantly being hassled by so many credit card providers out there and consequently getting bad service. Not Dean! She was very pleasant and let me do a quote and though declined my services, still told me I was welcome back anytime. A relief because she has the only bookstore in town that I’m aware of and it would have sucked if I couldn’t comfortably shop there.

I wish I could do negative stars, what a horrible store owner. Absolutely awful customer service. I went in to get a greeting card with my mom. The owner and a new employee were at the register looking and chatting about something. I stood there for a good minute before they even looked up, even then not a hi, how are you, go away. Nothing. So I cheerfully said hello & slid my card & debit card forward to purchase. The trainee was very nice & rung it up but the owner chewed me a new one about how bad it is for the business when you don’t pay with cash, especially minimal purchases like mine. She continued to lecture me when I stopped her & said I was in banking & I understood. She went on and on. I asked her if she ever thought about the convenience for her customers. She said with minimal purchases she’s practically giving it away. I looked at her and said well don’t worry I won’t be back, & I won’t! My mom was next in line & paid with cash to avoid a thrashing but the manager continued on my mother. When we got out of the store I asked my mom if I was wrong for saying something back. She said I was put together and nice but definitely made my point. She said if anyone she worked with talked to customers like that they would be fired. I agree. My mom said this lady is always like that & by reading other reviews I see it’s not just me. If you are in a customer service business you should be polite to your customers. If she didn’t like the card transaction then put up a minimum sign. I looked it up when I got home… businesses are allowed to require a minimum on $ 10 or less. She did not do one, but instead chewed me a new one. I have never experienced anyone so rude with such bad service. I’m honestly surprised she’s still in business. If her attitude continues maybe she won’t be! I highly suggest NOT going into Pages in Windsor. If you do, be prepared for the worst experience of your life.

Love love love this store. I refuse to go digital when it comes to books. I am in a book club and therefore am in at least once a month for a purchase. If the book is out of stock she can order a new one that comes within 2 to 3 business days.

Great, up-​to-​date selection of fiction and non-​fiction books. If you don’t find a book you’re looking for, the staff will special-​order it for you.
Pages also has a nice selection of greeting cards and quirky gifts. The ladies behind the counter have always been helpful, and if you buy merchandise during the holiday season, they will gift-​wrap it for free.
The only thing is that it would be great if the store were a little bigger — that way, the owners could host book readings by authors and book gatherings for customers.

3 stars for being on the smaller, high-​priced side.
5 stars for the lady who has helped me on a number of occasions (wish I knew her name).
Cute little store. I will continue to support them when looking for a book as a gift, or something for myself.
