My Sister’s Closet

This is a great store! I met the owner, Margaret, as we were enjoying an over night trip to Winnemucca. I had just gotten engaged and she invited me to try on some dresses. She opened up the next morning on her day off to help me find the perfect one! I also picked up other irresistible items. Very friendly people, great vibe and a variety of fun, gently used, items. The wedding dresses were new and a total steal! Got my dress and made a new friend.

My Sister’s Closet recently opened, within the last couple months, I have heard good things via word-​of-​mouth and was excited to check it out during the sidewalk sale this morning.
This is a second hand/​thrift/​odds-​n-​ends store/​variety store. Nicer quality and cleaner than Frugal Flamingo (a charity thrift store), probably because she picks what comes in vs. taking everyone’s unwanted trash… I mean treasures. There were newer items, like nice brand name jeans (think Plato’s Closet), but also vintage items, 70’s-90’s trends and also a beautifully preserved wedding dress section, those dresses were absolutely stunning!
There are purses and dishwares, and sewing patterns, books and antiques.
It was a lot of fun browsing and I can’t wait to be a regular to see her inventory change. The prices are outstanding, for instance, one super gorgeous, clean wedding dress was around $ 65 or so, I am comparing that to some of the thrift stores I went in in San Francisco off Hyde street where these era gowns were much spendier and in worse conditions.
Overall another great addition to the shopping scene in quaint Winnemucca, sounds like people around town are loving it as much as me, so I think she will be around for a long time to come!
