I found him from a google search and met him 30 min later. Very nice man and I felt a very fair price.

Just purchased my new mattress today and I love it! Phil, the owner was a joy and my shopping experience was enjoyable. I arrived at the location and he made me feel comfortable right away. He showed me the mattresses he had for sale and was able to explain in detail about each one and help me find one that not only fit my budget, but was perfect for me.
Do not be alarmed that he sells out of his home. He is very professional and knows his stuff! Trust me, if you are looking for a great mattress at an affordable rate, go to Discount Fine Mattress & Furniture!

The owner Phil used to have a shop on Ventura, i went there to look around about a year ago but didnt buy anything. He was nice and helpful.
Fast forward to 2 weeks ago and i needed a full size mattress for my sons new bed. So i called and found out he closed his shop but sells out of his house. I was alittle weary but i know hes legit cause i visited him a year ago and i figured «what the hell… well give it a shot». I called a few places and saw that averaged price full sets were 400 – 500 hundred bucks.
My wife and I went to Phils house and he showed us a couple different ones in his garage set up like a little showroom and we picked a nice, firm pillow top set for $ 230. Dont worry… they are brand new wrapped in plastic.
He said he uses a guy who delivers the mattresses the next day for $ 35 who only takes cash.
Now youre thinking «This is a receipe for disaster… since heres this shady guy doing business out of his garage and uses a third party mexican dude who charges $ 35 and only takes cash… its gotta be a scam or fake» Right???
well, trust me… hes legit. if i didnt physically go to his store a year ago… id never believe it, but Phils a older guy who answers your questions, doesnt pressure you and you can tell has been selling mattresses for over 35 years.
We received the mattress the next day on schedule and the dude delivering them was nice and set them up for us
The only negative things are since he sells out of his garage, the variety is very small and i told him that i visited him a year ago and he wasn’t like «thanks for remembering me» or «thanks for coming back to me after a year». I have a business and when people use me again a year later, im very appreciative and tell them «thanks for giving me another shot», things like that. But its not a major biggie.
Anyway…my sons bed has been up and running for a couple weeks now and its sooo comfy. My wife and I are gonna need a Cal King soon and we will definately go back to this place.

This place is not a store and the picture is false. This place is in a random shady looking house. And when you call dude he is like oh you need an appointment. Wtf! I would not like my wife or sister or mom to go here alone.

I stumbled upon this store when I was looking for my first bed after moving away from the on-​campus housing in college. They made it so easy to get a new mattress and boxspring, delivered it the next day, and it was surprisingly affordable. I recommend it to everyone who asks me where to get a mattress in LA. It’s not the nicest place to go to (as it is more like a warehouse than a furniture store), but definitely check it out if you want an easy, quick buy and a cheap mattress!

I went here on the recommendation of my best friend and got a fantastic mattress at an unbelievable price. The whole experience was a breeze. The owner, Phil, asked me questions to gauge what type of mattress I was looking for and led me through various rooms to try out each one. He also left me alone to spend as much time as I needed to pick out the one that worked best for my body. He wasn’t pushy, just very knowledgeable and told me more than I would ever need to know about coils, springs, foam, etc.
He actually sells out of a house, so best to call first and let him know you are coming. Definitely very legit. I have already recommended him to my friends and fam.

Prices are great, beds are very comforable, Phil is honest and will help you choose the right bed for you.
I came here to buy 2 mattresses for my place– both beds are excellent quality and I have the most comfortable night’s sleep on them.

Phil is amazing! He’s honest, has high quality beds, and is reasonably priced. He previously sold mattresses to luxury hotels in Las Vegas so he knows what makes beds comfortable and long-​lasting.
This is easily the best mattress store in LA and is worth the drive.

We walked in to Discount Fine Mattress & Furniture because we woke up that morning from the worst night’s sleep on our old queen. We had no idea what it entailed to find a new mattress. Are we going to have to sell a kidney to afford one? What type is going to be best for us? How do we know we’re making the right purchase? etc. You have a mattress for at least 10 years and spend a third of your life sleeping. It’s an important purchase. We had breakfast in Encino and I simply found this place because it was the closest on my GPS. I think it was divine mattress intervention.
Phil answered all our questions and more by asking us a few. Did we stand a lot at work? Are we behind a desk? Do we sleep on the edge of the bed or in the middle more? He also took into account that I’m much smaller than my guy. So he helped us pick a foam mattress that wouldn’t sink over time on one side.
In the end, he wasn’t pushy in any way. Just informative, because he’s been selling mattresses for 40 years. The price was half of what we expected to pay, it was in stock, box spring was included, and we got to take it home and sleep on it that night. And the California King mattress we chose is amazing! At 6’5, my guy can finally sleep on the whole bed without his feet hanging off. Thanks Phil!

Phil is a great salesman and really knows his product. I purchased my mattress set from here about 2 weeks ago and could not be happier. CHEAP! QUALITY! and did I mention, Phil is awesome. I recommend this place to everyone. you will not be disappointed, I guarantee it!

I too had a great experience. The prices are better than any other place. I spent a whole day shopping around and I can honestly say this place had the best prices hands down.

I needed a new mattress — and I went on Unilocal and read some of the mattress war stories, and I didn’t want that-​I happen to be working in Encino and I found Phil at Discount Mattress & Furniture. I had never purchased a mattress before — Phil was informative, fairly priced, educated me as to mattress construction, and was incredibly helpful when he heard my husband had a bad back.
