This is by far the BEST place to buy wine in the Triad. The owner Russ is very knowledgeable and always willing to take the time to share. If you don’t know what wines to serve with the menu you’ve created for that special dinner party, Russ will help you pair the perfect wines. It’s like having your own personal sommelier!

Unique small wine shop with amazing selection of European and western U.S. wines. Extensive choice of sparkling wines and wines from burgundy and even Slovenia, Lebanon and the Jura. The proprietor looks like he knows food, and actually does, and is very helpful with pairings. Tastings are frequent and a bonus.

Having been to several different wine shops in the Winston Salem area, I’ve found that I prefer Caviste. While the venue isn’t as large as its competitors, the wine selection is both unique and affordable. Most of all, the proprietor’s knowledge on wine is worth the trip. Offering regular tastings and wine education events, this is the place to go. Plus it’s just down the street from the Fresh Market making it very convenient for me.
