I could shake the mayor’s hand for this visitor center. It’s pretty good. Probably one of the most informative visitor centers I have visited. Very informative about the Moravians, the later settlers and the entire community. What an interesting lifestyle and craftmanship. You can watch a video and pick up some travel guides. Or grab a snack in the mini café.(The fudge was not so great tho. Sorry!) I think I got a comprehensive history of the entire city in just 10 minutes. And it was actually interesting rather thank bookish. Thumbs up!

Found this Visitor Center by accident! When you see my photos you will see why I was here! The place I was looking for and found was Brookstown Mill built in 1837 and after getting semi lost a few times looking round West End and Uptown(Winston-Salem’s downtown is an UP on the hill Uptown like Charlotte) we found Brookestown Ave. and I figured if we followed it we would find the old mill and if I could write a review of the Business there I would be too happy! The Historic Mill houses an Inn, a Restaurant(The Cotton Mill) and the Winston-Salem Visitor Center. The lady here was very nice and helped us get to Old Salem(short and easy route) told us where to park and the best way to see the most! We picked up a few brochures, took a few more photos and admired this charming, romantic, historic location.
