We enrolled our child in the after school program and things went well for the first few months. At some point another child exposed his penis to our son during the program and a few weeks later our son told us this had happened. We spoke with the staff and they questioned the class with the offending child admitting to his behavior. At this point we made the decision to remove our son from the program for his safety and spoke with Juan Burgos, the owner, about our reasons for leaving. He agreed to release us from the program and stated that he understood our concerns. A month later Affiliated Acceptance Corporation contacted us via email stating that we owed them the balance of the contract(Over two thousand dollars). I stated to them at that point that we had had a conversation with the owner Juan Burgos of Bushikan Karate-Do and that we were being released from our contract due to inappropriate behavior from another child, more specifically that he pulled his pants down and exposed his penis to our son during the after school program. I contacted Juan Burgos at this point explaining the situation and that was the last time I was ever able to contact him. I have tried on multiple occasions to communicate with him about their responsibilities in this situation with no return phone calls or text message. I have contacted an attorney and I’m moving forward with this as we feel that we are not responsible for any payments after we removed our child due to the inappropriate behavior and our fear for our child’s safety in their hands. Affiliated Acceptance Corporation has continued to bill us and has place negative remarks on our credit report due to lack of payment. This has turned into a nightmare. I wish we had never associated our son with the Bushikan Karate-Do after school program.
