Odin’s Den

This place was not what I was expecting, but I still had a fun time while here. The bar is dark inside. Everything is painted black and the blinds were all closed on the windows. Not my type of atmosphere, as I love the sunlight. The interior needs some updating. The leather bar stools are all torn apart and the rest of the furniture scattered about just seems very old and a little dirty.
They have two pool tables that are free to play, so that was fun entertainment. Their craft beer selection is great, however. There are options on draft and in the bottle. We had a $ 5 for $ 15 deal from Orlando Weekly which got us three craft beers. Great deal whenever you can get it.
I’m not sure if I would go back on my own, but wouldn’t say no if a group of friends wanted to go there.

A couple of friends and I decided to try Odins out after hearing/​reading good reviews on Unilocal.Plus having a deal from Orlando Weekly helped, $ 5 for $ 15. FYI, the deal is still on their website.
One phrase describes my time here, «Not what I expected.»
Beer selection — lots of craft beer to choose from (mostly bottles).
Vibe — DARK. If your favorite color is black then you’ll like the décor at Odins. Everything is black: the floor, the ceilings, the walls, the blinds. They need to open a blind or two.
Staff — the bartender on shift was very nice and helpful when we were inquiring about the different beers.
This is one of those places that I can say I’ve been to although I’m not sure I’ll be back. Just not my type if place.
Bonus — no smoking.

I came out to Odin’s Den 2 weeks ago to hear a friend’s band play. The venue is a little small for live bands, so don’t expect to be able to have a conversation with anyone while a band is playing. Learn how to read lips.
They have beer and wine only, which I dig, and also are non-​smoking, which I dig even more. Very hip, low key, love the place. Just not amazing conversation when there are live bands.

Ok. I’ll just put it out there right at the beginning that I am not a dive bar kind of gal. I am not a bar kind of gal at all, really. I’d rather get drunk and obnoxious in the privacy of my own home without the fear of similarly drunk and obnoxious strangers talking to me and getting all weird and touchy feely.
Unfortunately for me, my nearest and dearest are folks that like to go out and have a good time every now and then; the sort who like to mix and mingle and find new friends and make a little trouble and have an «interesting» time.
And I’m a pretty go-​with-​the-​flow kind of lady; if the group wants to do something I will just go along with it and hope for the best, even if I’d rather, say, chew my own arm off or something. And that’s really how I feel about bars.
We decided to stop by Odin’s Den around 10PM or so on a Friday night. My sister was surprised at how dead the place was, and wanted to leave… but personally the emptier a place is, the more comfortable I feel, so I was OK with it.
We sidled up to the bar; my sister and her friend ordered their standard (Stella in a chalice) and I hemmed and hawed because I never know what to order. The lovely bartender gave me a few samples, all about which she was very knowledegable. I found something I liked — it was light and crisp and subtly floral (321? 312? something like that), my companion found something he liked, and we found ourselves a seat. Which wasn’t difficult, for as I had mentioned, this place was practically a ghost town.
There were a few guys congregating around the jukebox, which made me kind of sad because I figured I was probably in for a long night and the one saving grace could be some awesome music, but they were probably going to fill it up with 3 hours worth of garbage-​y crap. Not that I am judgmental or anything. But I was right, it was crap.
Michael Jackson’s Billie Jean played next and some guy regaled us with some sweet dance moves. After this impressive display of… whatever that was, he sat at our table and attempted conversation, but I suspect he’d had quite a few because he soon stumbled away, mid conversation. He also left his beer on the table. My suspicions regarding his sobriety or relative lack thereof were later confirmed not ten minutes later when he ended up flat on the floor. Poor tiny dancer. You seemed like a decent kid.
So by this time we’d been there about half an hour and I felt like «OK! We had a great time, right?! Everyone ready to go?!» Alas, it was not to be. For we stayed another 4 hours. We closed the place down. I wanted to cry.
During this time we saw an alternate universe version of Beavis and Butthead: The Metal Years. Man, those guys were jerks. I had some Sisters of Mercy and Bauhaus and Peter Murphy all lined up on the jukebox, and then they shuffled over and loaded it up with Sepultura and Iron Maiden and King Diamond and I never did get to listen to my ye olde gawth music. I did however get to see them banging their heads and whipping around their greasy hair and listen to them shriek along with King Diamond, so I suppose there is some entertainment factor to be found in that.
At some point in the evening we were joined up by this man. I will call him Mister Tinkles. He was the handsiest motherfucker I have ever met. «If he touches me one more time,» I thought, «I am gonna knock his goddamned head off». And then he did. And I did nothing. Because I am all talk. But that was just another nail in the coffin of this evening of excruciating things.
I did get a chance to peek around in the bathrooms which I honestly did not think were as gross as some other reviewers have asserted. I don’t know. Maybe I have abnormally low standard of cleanliness. The ladies room in The Boothill Saloon in Daytona Beach? Now, *that* is disgusting. This was really just fine as far as I could tell.
Two pool tables, a jukebox with an awesome selection, knowledgeable (&gorgeous) bartenders and a great selection of beers — I guess as a bar this place is pretty awesome. If you like bars. I think my experience with the place was coloured by the patrons, and I cannot really blame the bar for that.
Luckily for me, even if I am having an awful time, I am sort of looking at it through nostalgic rose-​tinted glasses even as events are unfolding in front of me. I can look back at it and say… yeah…that wasn’t so bad.
I would go back, I seriously would. And I will be the jerk who puts their songs ahead of everyone elses and subject everyone to mopey goth music. And I will fuck up the everloving shit of the next ragingly inappropriate guy who gives me trouble. And maybe… I will drink a lot more so none of this crap will even bother me.

Odin’s isn’t your normal neighborhood dive. They have a large amount of craft beer on tap and several years ago they began to cater to the punk rock /​hipster crowd, which mixes with the neighborhood crowd. It’s about the only place where you’ll see a young kid with tattoos having a conversation with a 90 year-​old man. The diverse crowd is cool because everybody co-​exists and gets along pretty well.
The place is kind of dirty and the bathrooms are legitimately frightening but it’s all part of the charm. They have a limited food menu but I’m always skeptical about ordering food at places that I get a «dirty» vibe from. They have your normal pool table, dart boards, jukebox set-​up. You can catch live music there sometimes on the weekend.
I’m not sure if I would make a special trip to go to Odin’s but if you’re in the neighborhood and you like dive bars and craft beer, this is a good place to check out.

Winter Park’s dive, Odin’s, has a decent selection of craft beer at fair prices. They have about 10 – 15 craft on tap and a cooler full of numerous other craft bottles. The kitchen makes decent food. While not my style of music, on the weekends they usually have local live bands playing punk rock which seems to draw in quite a crowd. I usually always pop in for tap takeover, which is awesome! Each month they partner with a brewery, i.e. oscar blues, and put 5 – 7 of the brewery’s beer on tap. .. usually stuff that is difficult to get in Orlando. As mentioned by Ashley B., Odin’s can be difficult to locate as it is in a shopping plaza, but just look for the 7 – 11.

The one night I went it was tap takeover, which was pretty cool. There were lots of freebies, and discounts on the beer.
Another night I went they had a live band, which was wayyyyyyy to loud to be in that place. Talk about a headache. Regardless I still go back!
Bartenders are very nice and knowledgeable on the beer on tap. It is a little dark inside, and only one bathroom per gender. I just want to say, I thought I was locked in the girls bathroom, it was scary!
Recommend for a low key night out. It’s in a shopping plaza which can be a little hard to find, but lots of parking available.

It’s a dive bar. Some good beer selection. Tiny bathroom. Was recently saved from demise.

I moved to Orlando from LA last year. So far I hate Orlando, but there are a few hidden gems, such as Odin’s Den!
Ever since moving here, I’ve been looking for places free of the pretentious, the douchey, and the lame. Thank goodness I’ve found a place like that! I had fun last night drinking my PBR and playing darts and pool. The music was awesome, the bartenders were great, and there were interesting people to interact with.
I love dive bars and I definitely plan on frequenting this place more often.

Pros:
–Great selection of bottled and canned beer.
–Decent music once patrons get to select from the juke box.
–Pool tables.
–Relatively clean bathrooms.
–Dudes and chicks with tattoos.
–Younger crowd.
–Sweet metal bar
–Nice and attentive bar staff however they do over serve.
–Cool neighborhood bar
Cons:
–Patronage can get very offensive with racist, lewd and crass behavior.
–Outsiders are not really welcomed.
–No liquor.
–They could put a little bit more into the décor/​ambiance.
–Odd lighting.
