Hokkaido Sushi & Teppan

I take my 7 year old there at least 3 times a month. The staff is super friendly, and the food is excellent.

We enjoyed it very much. Sushi was great.
The girl waiting tables could use some practice, but everything else is well worth it.
Check it out, you won’t be disappointed.

Horrible service at hibachi. Seems they were more worried about dining room. (The 2 people Amanda and Anne) Drink refills are unheard of.
The food could have been really good… but WAY too salty! Not sure what the cook was thinking putting that much salt. :(

I’ve been going here for years and have never had a bad experience. This place is amazing. Same as Kobe but half the price. I even think it’s better and less crowded than Kobe. Great sushi and even better hibachi.

This was my second visit to this location for lunch and I was disappointed in the food. I came because I was excited to find out that they had lunch specials. I ordered a Sweet Potato Sushi roll and Shrimp Hibachi. My sushi was okay, i’ve honestly had better. The disappointment was with the shrimp. The shrimp was cold and the vegetables were luke warm. I asked for it to be recooked and they seemed to only warm it up in a microwave. Last time here.

We had an issue with the waitress and our order. Then we had an issue with the chef and our order. While cooking he kept realizing he didn’t bring enough food and kept having to call back to the kitchen to bring out more food. The food was pretty mediocre at best. The steak was really tough and the noodles were pretty salty. The rice and veggies were decent. But being a lover of hibachi, I’ve got to say that if you’re craving hibachi, you’re better off going elsewhere!

This place is amazing! Hibachi is delicious, so are the sushi rolls. Our cook was very pleasant and our server Amanda was attentive and all together wonderful.

My husband and I come here monthly and I lovee it. Im usually seated towards the back but order sushi and hibachi and they are always really nice and try their hardest to make sure they have good customer service.

Terrible experience, we use to love this place, not after last night. Waited over an hour for our chef to arrive, only to have him burn our food and put on our plates to eat. Still waiting for our sushi which never arrived. Complained to the manager 3 times, with no avail. Walked out will never return.

My husband and I decided to try them for lunch for our anniversary on a Sunday and found them open at noon.
We were given a choice of sitting in the dining room or the hibachi, both are nice but we chose the dining room.
Bob was pleased with Kirin beer, I had green tea. We ordered a tempura with vegetables and shrimp appetizer – it came hot, fresh, slightly greasy but not badly so.
Bob ate sushi and was happy with his tuna and eel. I had the chicken hibachi with fried rice and vegetables. This was tasty but large.
Dessert was vanilla ice cream all decorated.
Service at times was slow but always very helpful and willing to please.
Overall, it was a taste treat and a place we’d revisit.

The staff friendly and chef checked on us. It was fresh but didn’t try the hibachi.

Not a good night tonite. Sushi rolls are falling apart. Waited too long for dinner and it came out in sections. Hopefully just this time.

Ordered food for delivery today and was so disappointed. It took over an hour and a half for the food to get to me, I live 1.2 miles from the restaurant. After an hour and 5 minutes of waiting a woman called me to tell me they were out of edamame. First of all I was shocked it took them over an hour to figure that out and to top it off she was very short and rude on the phone. The shrimp tempura sushi was below par. I will not be ordering from here again.

The service at this location is amazing. My family were the only customers in the restaurant during the early bird time. We got to sit by ourselves for the hibachi at a great under $ 14 price.
The girl who was the hostess and took our order was very sweet and attentive.
The food was classic hibachi. We did get so many noodles that we had an entire to go box full when we left.

Great Hibachi! My girls and I were starving after driving up to Casselberry for appointments and don’t know the area. We took a chance on this place and were not disappointed! We got there around 4:00 p.m. and were pleasantly surprised that they have a «happy hour» hibachi menu! Two of us had steak and shrimp, and one had chicken and shrimp, and we all had soda. I don’t want to post my bill in case they change their prices, but it was a steal for hibachi!
Another truly pleasant surprise was hibachi noodles, which I have never heard of and only tried because our server said they were amazing. I am not a huge rice or pasta person, but I did justice to the hibachi noodles! Who knew?! Everything was very well prepared from the soup and salad to the steak and shrimp, and they didn’t skimp on portion sizes due to happy hour prices.
I live in Lake Nona and would gladly drive up just to eat here again! It was that good!

Not too sure why this place has so many positive reviews, but if you are a big fan of sushi and have a certain expectation to be met, you may want to consider going where you know it will be to your liking.
The sushi was … o.k. and the price was somewhat high. The environment was not great either. I wish we would have made the drive to where we normally like to go, but we figured it would be nice to go somewhere close to home… AHHH Wishful thinking, it GET us every time!

I remember when I found out Heath Ledger was cast as The Joker in The Dark Knight. What an awful casting choice I thought. Then of course I saw the movie and I was shocked at how amazing he was. But what is more shocking are all the good reviews for this excuse of an eatery.
When I arrived there were only two other tables with customers yet the service was slower than John Candy in the forty yard dash. Not only was the service slow but we ordered diet cokes that never appeared and a nearby table had to ask for a manager because they didn’t receive the correct order.
I ordered the udon noodles which are traditionally served in a bowl with broth. The menu also showed their udon this way too yet when I ordered it there was no bowl or broth. Just noodles on a plate. Bleck.
Our salads were also swimming with ginger dressing and the chicken teriyaki was dryer than Mitch Hedburg’s sense of humor.
I would rather watch a Robert Pattinson movie marathon than return to this establishment.
All these four and five star reviews? Really?

After reading all these positive reviews, I decided to try out their sushi. I tried their rainbow roll which wasn’t much better than what you find in a grocery store or buffet restaurant. The serving was very small.
The ginger salad was very small, and the dressing didn’t taste like what I was used to at other sushi restaurant. I couldn’t even eat it.
If you are going here for sushi, I cannot recommend this place.

I’ve been coming to this shopping center for years and never knew this hibachi/​sushi place was here. Haven’t tried the hibachi yet, but sushi was pretty good. Many options available. White rice only, was hoping for brown rice like some other places have. Waitress mentioned they my consider bring brown and purple rice back, as there are more requests for it recently.

Hokkaido is a surprisingly good, well-​priced hibachi/​sushi restaurant! They have a $ 15.95 Hibachi special where you can choose 2 combinations of meats (Steak, shrimp, chicken) and it comes with Onion Soup, Fried Rice, and 2 grilled shrimps. I opted for the chicken and scallops because I’m just crazy about hibachi scallops. My option was about $ 20.95 and came with a salad additionally. HOWEVER, if you get the $ 15.95 deal you do get noodles which I didn’t get. Our Hibachi chef also did a pretty good job! Don’t expect any crazy hibachi tricks you’d expect at a higher end Hibachi spot in NYC or LA (And NO, I don’t mean Kobe’s).
Additional to the Hibachi dinner, I ordered the Tuna Kobachi appetizer from the sushi bar. This is basically Tuna chopped in cubes with a spicy sauce and sesame seeds over thinly shaved cucumber. It’s served to you in a wide ‘wine’ glass. This is a really good appetizer to share with friends.
We also ordered the moonstone raspberry sake. It’s a pretty good sake to have chilled. Once it gets warm, it’s a wrap. Maybe you can pour some in a sake container and have the waitress chill it for you. Can’t go wrong with the hot sake either.
Overall: great place, friendly staff, and very intimate layout with a separated sushi bar. I hear the lunch specials are good too.
